Best NFL Player From Your State

Recommended Posts

NFL+ had an article today on the best players born in each state (couldn’t read it as I’ve been cutting a lot of costs lately). But it did get me thinking:

I’m not a Steelers fan at all, those of you who know me already know this. But I’d have to say Rod Woodson is the greatest born and raised Hoosier (born in Fort Wayne) to play the game. One of the greatest corners ever, still has records for fumble recoveries (32) and interceptions returned for a TD (12).

11 pro bowls. NFL Defensive POY (1993). Tied with Charles Woodson and Darren Sharper for most total defensive TDs (13). Super Bowl champion with the Ravens.

I’d say that’s enough to put him as the best player from Indiana.

Who’s the best from your state?

Well let’s see it would probably have to be Dwight Freeny and what do you know, he just so happens to have been a Colt for the bulk of his career. I’m from Connecticut btw!

noteable mentions

Byron Jones - CB

Terrance Knighton - DT

Jason Pinnock - Current safety for the Giants.

Andrew Pinnock - FB and also Jason Pinnock father.

Aaron Hernandez - controversial one here obviously.

I’m from Iowa so I’ll have to say my 2 boys Dallas Clark and Bob Sanders. Though I don’t think Sanders is actually from Iowa.

Fun fact about Dallas though.. his best friend from high school, his daughter, is dating my cousin. I’m still waiting to meet him lol

as far as the goat though.. Kurt Warner

Ohio has so many it’s hard to narrow it down.  Some would say Staubach.  Others may say Big Ben.

Some lady name Taylor may say one of the Kelce brothers.

I’ll go with Lou Groza.

From WV , I think Chuck Howley.

We have been lucky with some great players from WV for such a small state. Howley is a good choice but I would say Sam Huff or Randy Moss.

I'll represent Colorado here.

Nate Solder and Christian McCaffrey are the two best that I can remember.

Solid G from the Pats teams, and the best RB in the NFL currently.

Add Trey McBride to that as well.

Dutton was one of my favorite Colts growing up! The Sack Pack!

From Florida here...there are WAY too many players to even start with.

Got UF, FSU, and UM to work with for starters.

Yes. Florida, Texas, California and Louisiana have a lot of NFL hall of famers.

Sure do, I know for sure @DEColtsLover36 and there’s a few others.

Hey yup, thanks for the shout out! Philly born and raised :D Whoot Whooooot PA!

Currently residing in DE now, so for this thread I can definitely mention Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay WR) who is from my exact town here in DE. We had some signs up around the town for him when Tampa won the SB :applause:

Also, our guy Flacco went to the University of DE. Does that count? I’m making that count. Delaware doesn’t have a lot going on. LOL

Alabama

Bo Jackson(even tho he went to Auburn :yuk: )

Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete of all-time, if anyone thinks otherwise, I want what they are drinking chuckling homer simpson GIF. He was a great NFL football player/RB, good Pro baseball player. Could bench press 450 pounds down to chest and up once and run a 40 in 4.1.
