Colts vs. Steelers

The defense has to play a lot better than what they did on Sunday. Whether its Trubisky or Rudolph, 21+ points should win this game.

Bradley has to be more willing to blitz (and disguise it well) to generate pressure on obvious passing situations if it is clear early on the front four is not getting it done.  The secondary will be exposed if the opposing QB is not sped up in their progressions, decision making.

They got to do a better job on run defense especially on early downs and generating some negative plays with tackles for loss therefore keeping Pittsburgh in 3rd and longs.

Minshew has to take of the ball and not force throws especially if his feet are not set.  I thought he was lot better about this yesterday than he was in the Titans game the week prior.

Win the turnover battle, establish some type of run game and I think we should be good.  Its not going to be a cakewalk by any means.  Considering their season is effectively on the line, Tomlin will have those guys ready after the disappointing showing on TNF.  The team has to be ready to battle, match physicality for 60 minutes.

It’s just ticks me off that Colts fans will tickets to Pitt fans. There is a way to sell to only people that on the waiting list

I have never understood why people buy season tickets and they know they are going to miss half the games played = 4 out of 8. What is the point? I have never had season tickets in my life, and I live 10 minutes from the stadium. From 1987-2013 (2013 was the last game I went too). I went to around 50 games but always made it a day with friends and got tickets around 3 days before the game I was going too. Ate at St, Elmo and went to the game. I saved thousands of dollars doing it my way and went to the games I wanted to go too. I have been to games like the Cowboys in 1999, Broncos Playoff Game in 2004, and in 2009 vs the Pats/4th and 2.

20+ year season ticket holder here.  And your scenario is not a one size fits all.

We have missed several games this year because of kids sports. I may miss this Saturday”s game due a family Christmas with my in laws. We go to Florida over Thanksgiving every year and that has forced us to miss a game or two on each side of that week over the years.  I watched the Tampa game this year from the Tampa airport. Games we miss I give our tix to family or sell on the open market.

We keep our tickets because we sit with good friends and we enjoy the people that sit around us.

Again - I ask, do you have season tickets?  If so, how do you get rid of the ones you can’t use.

What do think when you see Colts fans in the stands during road games?  Is that cool or are you mad at Bengals fans, Titans fans, etc for selling their seats to visiting fans?

And please tell me more about this selling tickets to people that are on the waiting list.

I doubt such a mechanism exists as I have never heard of that in my many years of being a season ticket holder but happy to be wrong.

That's cool and it sounds like it has worked for you. It would be cool seeing the same people once a week that sit around you. A nice little bond.

Mercy did someone wizz in your Wheaties this morning. Of course, I am a ticket holder and I have for decades. I know there’s Colts fans at road games but not 10,000 or so like the Pittsburgh Steelers do

Historically this is a Lock for the Steelers..... especially considering its so important to the Steelers & Tomlin to right their ship and important for the colts chances at playoffs.

This could be the Raiders game all over again. WIll be interesting to see how the Colts respond

The Colts are favored by 3 points according to Bet MGM. Other sportsbooks have the Colts 2.5 favorites.

Colts run game hasn't been doing well, but the defense has been good. I trust Minshew more than I trust Trubisky, and the Steelers offense is nothing to write home about. The Colts have a decent chance this week.

4:30 start.  Bummer.  From what I remember we don't play well at 4:30??

Not really!!! Home vs away makes a big difference.

2018 season - we won all our home games in the 4-4:30 pm slot.

We won all our 4-4:30 pm games at home during Rivers' 2020 season.

We NEVER played a 4:25-4:30 pm game during Wentz' 2021 season though we beat the Patriots on a Saturday night game on NFL Network.

2022 Season - we pretty much lost 3 out of every 4 games, it was a wash of a season :), we were probably scarred by the Vikings comeback on NFL Network.

We don't play much in the 4-4:30 pm for it to be statistically significant but at home, we do play better.

At home we have a losing record 2-4.  The Steelers have a winning road record 3-2.  For the Colts to be favored is puzzling.  I guess the bookies really don’t think much of the Steelers this year.

The Steelers are a mess, every game they've won has been due to a bunch of flukey things happening late in the game. They just got beat by a terrible Patriots team. I think the Colts are better. And Trubisky is pretty bad.

But in the Steelers favor is the fact that they played last Thursday, so they'll be on nine days rest. The Colts will be on six days rest.

It goes in ebbs and flows. You don't always lose at home and you don't always win on the road. I do think we defend HFA better after the bye week, and the Bucs game was a start, IMO.

And historically flukey things happen in their favor against us when playing them.

Expect Tomlin to pull tricks and all sorts of other things out against us. Fake punts, fake field goals, crazy 4th down attempts. Punt blocks... Nothing would surprise me...

Nothing would surprise me either, but my point was that they're probably not as good as their record would indicate. They're the weakest of the seven win teams in the AFC, IMO.

I'll put my prediction in here now. We are easily 17-21 points better than the worst-roster-in-the-league steelers. BUT, as history shows that doesn't matter when the Colts take on the steelers. Just a little side note here. I was talking to a friend of mine a few weeks back(a huge steeler  fan). I told him I wish the Colts could be as bad as the steelers and still be 7-3!(even though not really because I would never want the Colts to be as bad as the steelers have been these past 5-6 years)!!! His reply was, and this is an exact quote, "we are not a 7-3 team, we are a 2-15 team". That being said, the steelers will once again slip by a Colt team that is so tremendously more talented than the garbage dumpster the steelers put out on the field it will be laughable. Enjoy the game folks!

I absolutely agree with that. On paper? We should win...

And yet? I said the same thing back in 2020... sigh... and 2019... and on and on.

I was nervous before the Bengals game, just seemed like a not great time for us to be playing them. The Bengals looked frisky, their backup QB looks good, etc.

I'm taking the Colts this week. I get why Colts fans are always nervous when playing the Steelers, and I'm not who thinks the Colts are a great team in hiding or anything. We're an average team, and can be beat by anyone. But I think the Colts are a better team, in a better situation, and should be locked in after getting spanked last week.

Their offense is a Panthers/Patriots level offense, the kind the Colts have handled well this season. Trubisky is really, really bad. Their offense has scored 194 points (less than 15/game), they're really bad on third and fourth down, second worst in the red zone, fifth worst points/drive and scoring percentage, and they're bottom ten in a bunch of other stats. One bright spot is they don't really turn the ball over, but Trubisky is more turnover prone than Pickett.

Their defense is just as average as ours, and they won't have TJ Watt. A lot of their defensive stats are eerily similar to ours; it's kind of weird that they give up 5 fewer points per game.

I just think this is a good matchup for the Colts.

Steelers Get Huge Boost with T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith Return

...Highsmith and Watt must clear the five-step concussion protocol before they can play on Saturday. Since they are already dong physical actively on Tuesday, it would seem they are well along the path towards achieving that goal.

Yep. We will see if they have any symptoms after practicing but seems like they will play. Bad for colts. I don’t know how the heck watt was allowed to finish that game when he needed a tinted visor for light sensitivity to finish.

All I want for Christmas is a Win vs. the dreaded Steelers, still can’t get the Quentin Coryatt drop, the Vanderjagt shank and the Minkah Fitzpatrick pick out of my head.
my favorite moment was when Bert threw a Nolan Ryan fastball at Dwight White after a late hit!

You’re forgetting one. When Big Ben got the shoestring tackle of Harper after his wife stabbed him in the leg the night before.

Still looking for the answer on selling tickets to the waiting list. How is that done?

Also curious if you have ever sold your tickets via seat geek or Ticketmaster or some other resale site.
