Is the Hilton Injury a possible season ender?

Back to the topic: neck surgery is NEVER  small stuff. Especially for a football player. TY’s future is totally uncertain: he could be done; he could be back in a few weeks. If I were betting, I’d wager he misses at least half the season. He’s a tough hombre, but this is serious, uncertain territory. And his body has been slowly breaking down for a couple of seasons now.  Fingers crossed for him and the team.

Agree.  The procedure he had may well have been a "laminectomy" - the neurosurgeon "cleans up" (opens) the pathway where the nerve bundle enters/exits the affected discs.  Not really so "minor."

I'm sure he's getting the best medical advice.  I just hope he takes it.  This is not like gutting out a bad ankle.

Totally agree with you, this is serious.  It's not like he's a QB who gets hit once in a while.  He pretty much gets hit every time he catches the ball (although he's almost Marvin-like the way he avoids hits)

And now it's official. Good signing.

And I guess this could impact the active roster, it's a lot easier now to activate a player on game day.

I think it was a fantastic grab with Hilton's status and Campbell's health history. We're awfully thin at Z/slot speed types.

Coutee has a ton of upside, but of course, has his own health history. If you watch his highlights, he's not that all dissimilar to TY (they way he plays)

I didn’t realize he was so young. Doesnt it feels like he has been in the league a long time.

He should have gone last year. The owner kept him here, not his ability.

You're right.  It was pretty obvious after the news broke of his signing and the presser that Irsay had post-signing, that he usurped Ballard on the final offer, snatching him away from the open jaws of the Ravens.  (Certainly demonstrates his loyalty to iconic players and Hilton's loyalty to the horseshoe)

    • I think people underestimate Flowers' ability to be a shut down corner. If he stays healthy he will have a breakout season imo.    I love our D-line and think they are top 5 in the league. I have high hopes for Latu and think he will deliver double digit sacks, even as a rookie. His pass rush win% in college was top notch, Bosa-esque, if not better. He is DPOY material.    Our LB's are solid and we will probably sign a proven vet at safety.
    • A lot is going to depend on the health of the secondary. Not a fan of the defense playing 10 yards off the WR either.
    • Gus’s problem is that he rarely blitzes a qb and relies too much on the front 4 to put the pressure on the qb! Every qb has basically smoked a cigarette and taken a nap before a Colts defender can even breathe on them! Im not saying to blitz every play, just mix it up enough to get in the qbs head! Open gaps for lbs to get through, especially in the middle against slower pocket passing qbs. Gus has been around too long and will be too stubborn to change though!😒
    • Besides the Pacers shooting yesterday, what really stood out to me was they didn't wilt in the big moment of playing in a Game 7 at NY - that shows Mental toughness. Haliburton was playing like it was a just another regular season game and just doing his thing. Also, the Pacers weren't getting bullied inside, Turner and Pascal did the bullying for a change. They are finesse players that usually just care about scoring mostly but yesterday they were banging down low and played really aggressive.
    • Yeah, Cus Bradley yes I said Cus I'm not a fan of his scheme if you want to call it that. So it doesn't matter who we have in the secondary it won't help. We could bring back these players in their youth again like Dion Sanders and Darrel Green and it wouldn't matter in my mind. I don't know why we hold on to a DC who has been 28 in total defense for two years. Bring in a DC with an innovative smart scheme that would confuse offenses. But what we have now is a defense that a JR high team could figure out. So yes the defense is a huge concern. We are going to have out-score teams which means our offense can make very little mistakes.
