Colts @ Bills Game Day Thread

Recommended Posts

Opening Sunday of the 2015 season is finally here, Colts fans!  :)   Our Indianapolis Colts begin their 63rd regular season in the NFL, as they are in the City Of Orchard Park in Western New York State to play the Buffalo Bills.

This afternoon is the 68th all-time regular season meeting between the Colts and Bills,  a rivalry that began when both the Colts and Bills finished with a 17-17 tie at Baltimore Memorial Stadium, in both teams first-ever meeting since the AFL-NFL merger back on November 15, 1970.

Spero Dedes and Solomon Wilcotts are announcing the live TV game commentary for The NFL On CBS, seen regionally, and locally in Indianapolis on WTTV CBS Channel 4, live on HD.

Bob Lamey, our 'Voice Of The Colts,' and former Colts player Jim Sorgi are also announcing the live radio game play-by-play and analysis, simulcast on flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio The Fan 1070AM, and WLHK Country 98.1FM, and the Colts/Vectren Radio Network.

Showers and cloudy skies at 59 degrees, feels like 56 degrees, is the local game cast inside Ralph Wilson Stadium, for the 1:05PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 35% precipitaton, 51% humidity, and western winds at 15 miles per hour.

NO injuries, and hope our Colts can spoil new Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan's regular season  debut in Buffalo, and overcome the inclement weather. GO COLTS!!!!!

This will be a difficult game. Playing in Buffalo against that defense will NOT be defense. Hoping we can overcome the noise & that defense.

Go Colts!!!

Maybe it's the film that the rookies have shown, but I'm excited about them. Grigs always talks about how he bases a player of film. Offensively, I'm excited to see the vet run the pigskin. Bradshaw got 4 yards a pop and was a good receiving back. Gore should be as good or better, even if he is older.

WOOHOOOOOOOO BABY. Man, Feb - August is frustrating. Bring me some NFL Sundays back in my life. Here's to an injury free game with a Colts win. Would love to see Gore have a big day.

This is going to be an easy blowout game for the Colts. No way Buffalo defense can withstand this aerial attack.

Watching the game with kids/grandkids today, so once again I won't be joining in the gameday discussion.

Good Luck to our team.  Bring us home a Win.   :td:   :coltsfb:  :coltshelmet:

Evening/Afternoon all, hour to go :)

Good luck to your Colts! Wish I could watch that game live -- should be a good one.

We're stuck with Browns@Jets where I am.

Both fan bases are convinced they will win.  Both have sneaking doubts. It should be a great game.  From the first offensive snap, the Colts fans will see if the offensive line is really in trouble.  The Bills will discover if their defense really is great, as they hope.  Can the Colt rookies on the D-line stop the run?  Is Tyrod Taylor the answer? We are all going to find out soon.

Let's see some bold predictions for today's game.  I'll give you 2.

1. Frank Gore has multiple TDs today

2. Tyrod Taylor outrushes the Colts RBs

But Colts still win!

Hey Colts nation..... I'm expecting early struggles but eventually pull it together in the 2nd half

I hope not ! I think everybody was sick of watching them struggle in the first half in almost every game.

Better than KC vs Hou and in the afternoon Ten vs TB.....like literally everything around me gets both the good games with Colts and then Broncos later....uggh. Just have to listen to Sirius.

Taylor throws for the same amount of TDs as Luck (1) and Gore outrushes Mccoy...thats mine...Colts win a slobbernocker.

    • And I'm not even a huge fan of that unless the Colts win the draw!  If the Colts win the draw I will completely forget how unfair or silly of a way that is to determine draft order (Which can make or break franchises for years.)
    • Round 2a - #34 A Ross Blacklock B Tee Higgins C Trevon Diggs   Round 2b - #44 A Michael Pittman B Julian Okwara C Laviska Shenault   Round 3 - #75 A Albert Okwuegbunam B  Hunter Bryant C Chase Claypool   Round 4 - #122 A Michael Ojemudia B Brycen Hopkins C Darrynton Evans   Round 5 - #160 A James Morgan B  Johns Simpson C Collin Johnson   Round 6a - #193 A Harrison Hand B Kindle Vildor C Van Jefferson   Round6b - #197 A John Simpson B Garrett Marino  C Lamar Jackson
    • Still like him. Also think they can work more with him on his throwing motion. He looks like he's already on it a little judging by the video of his "pro day." He has a tendency, probably from his baseball days of throwing the ball like a shortstop, all upper body and not stepping thru his throws. Got worse in 2019. Go back and look at his 18 tape and he was stepping thru and getting more on the ball. What I do really like is he seems to see the game and the field better than anyone other than burrow. And he doesn't get rattled.
    • 1. ERFA is meaningless because it's not even really a free agent.  An ERFA has to take a minimum contract if tendered by their team.  They can't negotiate with other teams unless their team doesn't tender them a minimum contract.  We would have Kelly on the cheap for at least 2 more years after this season.  Possibly 3.   2. Not really.  Kelly's big drawback that pulled him down to the last pick of the 7th round was his behavior and immaturity.  Immaturity and bad behavior are the least tolerated in QB's.  He had some other negatives on his play but no more than any other QB prospect.  It was the immaturity that killed Kelly.  If he was a mature player he was probably at least a mid-round pick.   3. Again you can't know that.  It's hard to say.  It was odd that they kept him on the roster after bringing him up to be Hoyer's backup.     I'm not saying Kelly is the solution or anything.  I don't know if he's really grown up or not other than having stayed clean thus far.  (While it's certainly a good thing I don't consider spending a year without getting in trouble with the law to be a noted accomplishment.)  We know so little about the situation.  Reich and Ballard know more.  But I will repeat what I already said once.  You do yourself a dis-service to pretend that Kelly is an ordinary 7th round pick.
