Da'Rick Rogers vs Chiefs

I just hope he can consistently get separation so that Andrew can target him as needed. Even though Andrew obviously isn't afraid of being hit, I think we would see a much more accurate qb if he could quickly find any receiver with separation. It isn't happening nearly enough and even a gutsy qb is going to have problems when he needs to get rid of the ball in three seconds and he doesn't have a Reggie who can make himself quickly available. All those hits take their toll.

am i the only one who notice after that one drop he wasn't target as much for the rest of the game?..what did he have like four more targets after that???....and one of them was an under thrown interception that would have been a td...i hope they get him involved more this game.......5 catches, 90 yards, td...

I don't think it was the drop as much as the way he was tipping off his routes.  He was more to blame for the INT than Luck.

he was underthrown, they played a smart defensive play and made him look open, and luck didnt see it grant he could of thrown it futher and he could of still got to it but he wsnt underthrown

Found a nice little piece of info from Ben Gundy over at Colts Authority. Ben Gundy is the guy who tracks the o-line.

Finally, while I don’t track wide receiver blocking closely, I want to say that Rogers is showing lots of promise as a blocker. Though he needs lots of work on his route-running, the fact that he’s showing effort in blocking is a good sign, particularly since Darrius Heyward-Bey seems to be getting worse and worse in that area.

I won't guess anything about his numbers but I can say that he definetly needs to learn how to run better routes.

Kyle Rodriguez of Colts Authority and BR put side by side the Whalen's route for TD and Rogers' when Luck threw the interception and the discrepancy between the two was striking. Whalen's route running was so fluid while Rogers looked like he was taking a turn on ice and was trying to avoid sliping.

He linked to the 2 gifs from his Twitter account so you may want to check his Twitter timeline. He may have posted that in his BR article this week, not sure.

OK, see if this works

    • You're right.   He's easily 3-4 feet off the ground when he's dunking.   He could come down and tear an ACL
    • As a hockey fan, I really do look forward to seeing how a line change that Ballard and Dodds have touched on works. If they can sub an entire line in and out without much change in performance, this d-line will be wrecking o-lines in every 4th quarter throughout the season.   Combine that with an explosive run game and offense that can wear defenses down, and we will win most of battles of attrition, which will get more and more in depth as the season progresses. A little luck (never a pun intended) especially with health could put this team in position to be dangerous in the postseason.
    • The criteria is the Colts want to keep you but you’re a fringe player. It all comes down to how much the Colts like your nephew. He could surprise and if he does they may not want to put him on the PS out of fear of losing him to another team. The good thing is the Colts love their oline players, and will keep lower level draft picks/UDFA lineman over other positions. There’s quite a few later round guys the colts have kept on that have shown to be pretty good level guys with bright futures.    there’s not really any criteria for being signed to the PS other than they want to see how much better a guy can get over there.    most of the time, an older guy is either ineligible for the PS because of how many games he’s started, or it’s not worth it because you see what the guy is over what he can become (as he’s been in the league a while).   odds are the younger guy gets signed to the ps over the older guy.
    • Remember all those years we watched Mannings fluttering passes downfield? 100 Int's even over his 1st 5 seasons. Not counting many Playoff interception disasters.  No flutters for AR ! Just less closing time for the D.
    • I just read the article on Stampede Blue.  It’s an old clip of him dunking.     I’m pretty sure they told him not to do that during this time.  He did say he’d be throwing with the guys.
