Bradshaw may need surgery [Merge]

Well that's certainly not good news.   This is seriously starting to get ridiculous.  Next thing we know, Luck's going to get sacked and his leg will disintigrate.  I mean, when was the last time a franchise lost two starting RBs in the first 4 weeks?  In the same season?  I really hope he's fine, but this injury bug is disheartening.

just what i was afraid of.  based on the colts lack of dissemination, it was pretty obvious this was serious and the scant info/rumors coming out that it was bulging disc or related to a NYG previous injury is apparently true. You'll notice they are only saying that it happened vs. 49ers, yea......  Might need the type of surgery Peyton had but let's hope he goes out to the west coast to that father and son team of specialists to have it fixed.  We KNOW they are good.  I can't imagine a running back wanting to ever play again with any type of serious neck injury that involves discs/nerves.

Agreed. You could tell with the lack of details it probably wasn't good news. I thought maybe it was a concussion, which would have been better then a season ending neck injury.  Hopefully it will heal on it's own but the thing is even if it does it may flare up again the next time he gets hit.

Wow it's a good thing we picked up another RB in TR I guess...oye!

...as it turns out now.....if Bradshaw is out...the TRich trade was something we had to do to make the playoffs this year...

...neck or back surgery is bad....

...Bradshaw was a proven guy..our hardest runner.....I hope they don't have to cut on him

That might end his career

We're gonna need another RB. Trent Richardson & Donald Brown isn't enough. Gotta at leaat carry 3. Maybe K Willy from the PS.

Trent Richardson still isn't settled in here. Let's keep the run by committee mindset

sunday was a wakeup call for all those that thought Trent Richardson would be the answer to the Colts running woes. Poor blocking up front forced the newly acquired running back to gain 46 of his 60 yards after contact. Donald Brown had the complete opposite day. On his three runs he saw two gaping holes. In the middle of the second quarter, on the only trap the Colts ran all day, Brown ran 20 yards in a straight line before he was even touched. It was still quite the display by Richardson though as he dragged defenders almost every play, he had just one run on which he didn’t gain any yards after contact.

thats from pro football focus i dunno if there making the holes for him or he aint seeing them but tells quite abit bout he strength

I'm thinking the colts front office had some info about Bradshaw playing hurt and that's why they jumped on TR

I think that's a little far fetched.  I mean, it would be different if we were stuck in a 3 year contract with him and he was in the final year.  But we signed him in the offseason, where he would have gone through numerous medical exams.  We weren't negotiating at arms length with NYG, so they would have been forthcoming with information as they didn't have any interest in whether we signed him or not -not same division, or conference for that matter, nor do we even play them.  That being the case, if what you said were to be true, then we would have signed Ahmad Bradshaw for the sole reason of looking to trade a high draft pick for TR or some other highly touted RB at the first sign of Bradshaw's getting weak...and that just makes no sense at all.  Especially in light of the fact that no one could have foreseen that the Browns would just drop everything two weeks in and throw in the towel and give away their best RB to the first bidder.  Chances are, we signed him, knowing of his injury history, and wanted a quality running back for a year until we could find a suitable long-term replacement in the draft, free agency, or in this case, via trade.

It's them not opening holes. That's why I said he's not settled in. It takes time for a RB to get comfortable with an oline. And he's still learning the playbook and getting chemistry with Andrew Luck

He has a pretty big contract no? I think we could get him for a 5th. Tho im against trading away anymore draft picks.

I believe it is in its last year.  Don't know if we'd have the cap space for it, but we wouldn't give up a trade for 3 months of work.  We'd require a restructure before trading anything, and I doubt it would be as large as MJD would be asking for and it would be even less appealing because we just traded for an RB.  Not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose.  But these boards would be :tvhammer:  :explode:  :cuss:  :tvsmash:  :hissy:  :HFire:

Been a fan of Bradshaw for a long time so I absolutely LOVED this signing and it was the one I was most excited about. But the health issue was always the downside/ worry.  If you have to type "If he's healthy" every time you mention a player that should be a sign I guess...

Ah well. Fingers crossed.

Ughhhhhh

This Richardson trade is even more important now.

For both the Colts and the Browns...the TRich trade is looking like an absolutely brilliant move for both teams.

Time to bring Kerwynn Williams up?

Maybe...I don't like going into games with only two active RBs.  Especially if Havili is out too.

I imagine it probably makes it easier to key on the running back in a limited playbook.  It definitely seemed like Jacksonville was prepared for most of TRich's runs last weekend.  Also might explain the daylight Brown found on his runs, simply having an RB with time in this offense may have paid dividends.

Oh well, time to start rooting for Brown and Richardson to carry us to the promised land.

Exactly what I feared was gonna happen. As the season went on our injuries were gonna begin to pile up. We got a break in camps and pre season but now the Bug is in full effect. I guess its fair to just ask Who's next??? This just gets really old!!! Sorry for sounding negative but I get sick of constant injuries year after year it seems. It seems to me now that every year were gonna get hit ny injuries. I kinda just expect it. We never can get a break. AGGRIVATED!!!
