Right. I didn’t mean down on him as a player, but as a fit for our needs. I was surprised by the bears taking Odunze as well (and I doubt very many people saw the falcons doing what they did.) I was surprised the raiders took bowers too. I thought once he made it through the jets pick, he would be there. But we might not have taken him over Latu. I don’t know. I think Odunze was our target though. He might have briefly entertained the cardinals for Harrison, but that was never going to happen, not from the capital we would have to give up nor from them potentially not even answering our phone call. It was too far to move for them. The bears made a lot of sense to move back.    Ballard said he looked at it as completing the d-line. Makes sense that he was making a play for Hunter, as he would certainly have fit that same puzzle piece in their eyes, and freed up the spot last night. Just didn’t work out. Hope it all comes together. 

Ballard may have landed the DE Edge that he needed to make Gus Bradley's scheme work. We all know that to be able to select an elite pass rusher, which Latu is, you have to be in the top 3 picks.  We got lucky and we got him with the 15th. No WR or CB comes close to matching an elite pass rusher. With Buckner and Grover, and a good DL coach there is NO EXCUSE to close out the games.    In the Max Crosby show "RUSH" Latu expressed that he did not mind playing for the BUCS, RAVENS and TEXANS. I don't blame him because they all have great defensive coaches. 

He doesn’t like Ballard so it didn’t matter what he did that was going to be his reaction.
