Anonymous
Phillip Rivers takes a lot of hits (terrible O line plus he isn't mobile) and is very durable too. Never missed a start due to injury in his nfl career.

But seriously...Tebow got hurt in Denver missed practices..played with a seperated shoulder once.. Phil Rivers was a walking injury late this year and he doesn't get hit like Luck does I dont know of an NFL QB who takes the hits Andrew does who never shows any effects.... Who is he .........Chuck Norris??

cbear
I always wondered that myself. But his career will be shortened greatly if that kind of pounding continues. He won't be young forever. SteelDragon
I suppose it's a combination of genetics, being in shape, eating right, and playing smart. Having had nearly a decade-and-a-half of the ultra-durable #18, perhaps we do take it a bit for granted.

FanFromtheWasteland
It may also be that he is not afraid of being hit. He actually seems to thrive on it. He seems to know how to absorb the hit instead of bracing against it. It also may have something to do with the fact that he is still young. Old people don't bounce when they fall :-)
ColtsBlueFL
I have no uncertainty that every NFL player gets alittle dinged up during the season, QB's included. That said, between the rules instituted over the years to protect the QB and the ability of a few of them to move around in the pocket, (or scramble/extend the play), and slide at the end of a run all help. That said, even with Luck ability to sldie in the pocket, run, slide, etc... he does get hit hard too often IMO. He's still young and strong with fast recovery times. Later in his career this may not be so and he'll develop countering instincts to offset. Brett Favre started 297 consecutive games in the NFL. Peyton Manning started 208, until his neck surgery. But did you know there are many active streaks going that Luck isn't near? Eli Manning - 167Philip Rivers - 144Joe Flacco - 112Tom Brady - 96 *** interesting factoid, this is Tom's second streak. His first went 111 games and ended in Sept 2008 ***Matt Ryan - 83Drew Brees - 80 So I hope Andrew surpasses most all of these guys when this is revisited down the road. HOZER
I've noticed Luck has worked on his slide, that will definitely prolong his career......although I bet every time he slides he would rather truck someone for a few extra yards!!!
