Jim's had to dig deep to save face.  Maybe someday we'll find out who the "wopper" was that got away.

   He was a 1st round draft choice, 6'2, 210 lbs, and runs a 4.3 40..... DHB is, was, and will be the "wopper" Irsay was talking about.

Name me 1 WR who was actually a real possibility that would be a better addition than DHB?

He needs to learn to catch the ball with his hands, not his body. Hopefully Reggie can help him with that.

If he hasn't learned by now, I don't see him learning at all. I like his size and his speed, but I don't have high hopes for him ever being that good.

Reggie has become a real asset not only playing ,but also helping the young receivers,if you have heard TY as in the interview on NFL network about a week ago he brought this out,so you could have a valid point

I like it.  I'm like most, a very promising guy that is still very young.  I just hope we sign him for at least 2-3 years.  It seems silly to sign a guy for 1 (Avery) and then let him leave the next off season.  That whole chemistry element between receiver and QB should come into play, and I'd suspect Avery would've had better numbers in his 2nd season with Luck.

At any rate, as Grigson likes to point out, the arrow is pointing up on this guy as well.  He's just been in a poorly run organization for a long time.

Seems like a definite upgrade over Avery.

DHB has the size everyone has been clammering for and he has blazing speed to go along with his good size. He's been stuck in Raiders purgatory, which is enough to bring down most players, and he is unfairly disrespected because he is a victim of having been drafted higher than he should have been, thus resulting in unfairly high expectations.

Fact of the matter is, though, he is a huge upside talent that will likely be had at a very reasonable price, all things considered. I think DHB would make for a very exciting addition with excellent potential to exceed the now prevailing low expectation attached to him.

That's the problem....you can't teach speed and teaching a seasoned NFL WR how to catch the ball probably isn't happening either.

I'd rather we give this guy a shot in the 3rd or 4th round....if Grigson is after a WR.

He had a decent 2011.  I thought he would breakout last year, but he never really got right after getting rocked in week 3.

If he comes back from that he's alot like Demaryius Thomas before Peyton got to town.  Lots of size, speed, and power, he looks like a football player with the ball in his hands.

Rodgers is one of the guys I've had my eye on too.

    • Yeah, Ebukam almost looks clumsy next to Latu. He's just so fluid.
    • Did Hou actually get that much better? This really does remain to be seen. I am of the opinion that the signing of Diggs is a signing that has been made about 2 years too late. He won't be bad, but he isn't a top 10 WR in the NFL anymore. I wouldn't put him as any more dangerous that Pittman, so WR's are a push. We have the better RB, Mixon is great and all, but he is not JT. We have the better Oline, and it isn't even close. TE's are a push, we have a lot of upside, but until it is realised im very "meh" on our TEs. QB - I would argue that Stroud is probably more likely to regress to the mean in year 2 vs improve. That rookie season of his was a bit silly, and they had an easier schedule last season too. If he really does build on last year and get even better, then our entire discourse here is probably irrelevant as we will have another Mahomes level QB on our hands to deal with in the AFC and within the AFC South no less. So unless Richardson is also a Mahomes level talent in that scenario, we are done for anyways. To me, our success in this coming season comes down to 2 groups on this entire team. 1. The QB (because... duh) 2. Our DBs. If we even get average play from the DBs, I think this team has the ability to win the whole damned thing (supposing Richardson stays healthy and is what we all hope he is). I would also argue that Houston are paper thin. If they lose a OL starter, Mixon or even one of their starting WRs.... they have a very big drop off. And injuries happen in the NFL. Just sayin...
    • If he wasn’t fast enough or athletic enough anymore for linebacker, then he’s not going to be able to cut it at Safety where speed , quickness, athleticism are even more important.    Wish it wasn’t so….
    • could he be another bob sanders at that position?
    • Man I love me some Maniac, but it won't happen, and he's too slow after his surgeries.
