Maybe im in the minority but I think this was a come back down to earth game for this team. Barely beating the Pats, Panthers, Bucs, Titans is not exactly inspiring. Got beat by a superior actual playoff contending team plain and simple.

i agree people got carried away and forgot who the colts played .   colts only beat two teams with a winning record and one was a rookie early in the season before he was good .   even the ravens game we got very lucky got outplayed most of the game and everything went our way

Just bad all around from players and coaches. But water finds its level  and this team is just not that good.

AFCS got trounced today. Texans lost stroud to a concussion and has no WR. Jags got trounced by browns.

I don’t think colts are going to the playoffs. They are now 8th and eventually teams that overachieve come back down to earth. If Minshew looked that bad against a bad bengals team imagine what he will look like against Steelers defense.

100% correct we have one of the easiest strength of schedules in the league this season which has worked in our favor. Are we actually one of the top 14 teams in the league. Not likley.

An example of why Gus Bradley’s D gets so much criticism. Bengals were driving but we were only down 7 and had them third and nine in the third quarter. Big play! So we bring zero pressure and allow a huge cushion on a simple out route for 11 yards and a huge first down. It was literally throw and catch. We tried nothing, just hoped they made a mistake. On offense, first down runs over and over and continual check downs down by 17 doesn’t seem like a winning plan. Brutal to watch. We got exposed big time today.

TJ Watt is likely out.

it reminds me of the giants last year being considered good with daniel jones .    now they have a harder schedule and folded .  we have pieces to be good but still are a long way away from being a true contender .

We played a contender for the first time since week 6 and it showed. And, they didn't even bring their franchise QB.

Defense looked overmatched most of the game and so did the offense really. Lack of discipline cost us a lot of penalties.

Baker got picked on.

Raimann got schooled all day by Hendrickson. Worst game of the season for him by far.

No push from the Oline and no pressure from the Dline.

I thought Jones did well in coverage, but Chase is elite and Browning had excellent ball placement.

I don't like our defensive scheme. No disguises. No blitzing.

We can't get our run game going, because Minshew can't pass the opponents out of base defense.

its easier to game plan against a defense when you know what they are gonna do before the game starts .   gus is the complete opposite of shane  and his offense .

Can’t make that many mistakes when your defense is bad and your QB is as well.

But it comes down to this - if you can’t run the ball, you aren’t going to win.

Earlier in the week I said I have the feeling it’s the start of a three game losing streak.  I hope I’m wrong.

Missed opportunity to solidify our playoff standing there.  Outside of 1 minute in the late 2nd quarter, we really didn't do a lot in this one.

- The defense was flat out awful in this one.  If the pass rush (specifically front 4) is performing anything less than an A level, our secondary is going to struggle (regardless of if they are playing man or zone) due to the complete void of talent back there.  I thought the game really turned on the first drive of the second half when the Bengals just marched the ball down the field and scored 7 without much resistance.

- Minshew did not play great, but I think he looks a lot better in this game if he has a defense that keeps him in it rather than putting him in a hole.  Look guys, he is a backup for a reason.  Expecting him to consistently make elite throws, big plays when pressured is not realistic.  Honestly, I thought he was worse last week.

- 35 yards rushing against one of the worst rush defenses in the league.  Some of it was the line, but I thought Steichen was a little too predictable about when and where he was running the ball.

Pittman and Rigo were about the only Colts I thought had a good game.

By the way Moss has really struggled the last two weeks.  I am hoping it quiets some who were upset with keeping Taylor because the Colts could have had Moss for cheaper.  I still like Moss as a number two but what we were seeing from Taylor before he got hurt was that he was making plays even when he wasn’t getting great run blocking.  Moss can’t do that.  Granted he hasn’t had the help from the line and that is also a concern but Taylor is just simply a better player and the Colts need him back.

Honestly. I don’t think so. Gus’s defense is no longer effective  in today’s game. He gotta go. And a decent QB who can challenge the defense is the key. There is talent on this club.

He has extra time to clear protocol.

Highly doubtful though. They let him go back out after the hit and keep playing. I see no way they clear him.

I'm not disputing JT is better than Moss, but I think people are kidding themselves if they think JT would've made a difference today.

My dad is a huge Vikings fan and was telling me about some of the great schematic stuff Flores has been doing. Apparently when he was with Pittsburgh last season, since Pitt shares their field, he started chatting with their D-coordinator and picked up some innovative things that he's incorporated in his Vikings defense. That's the kind of stuff I'd like to see from a DC, not playing the same old stuff that we've seen for the past couple of decades.

That's been a huge part of the problem for us offesnsively.

I doubt  marvin  Harrison,  Wayne, and hilton on the same team in their prime would make a difference with minshew at qb

Bradley is weird. Sometimes we see him change up his usual stuff (like against the Ravens when we blitzed a lot), but most of the time it's same old same old.

You'd think he'd start scrapping somethings that just don't work - like our "prevent" defense. You just KNOW the opponents will score when we start that crap.

I especially don't get the lack of disguises. You'd think with a young and injured defense you'd try to give your guys the best possible chance to succeed. So, disguise what you're doing, let the opponents guess? Put THEM on their heels instead of giving them 600 yards of cushion.

    • I'm all for doubling down and going EDGE in the 1st again. Just got to make sure we get the right one. Depending on where we draft, I'm okay with trading up a couple of picks to snatch the better pass rusher of the bunch. Since there will be a good amount of rushers, I hear, let's go get the better one. I can also see the draft being the opposite as this years. Most teams will go defense now in this draft, and very good offensive players fall. I think we are perfect on offense, that's why I'm okay with trading up to get the guy we need on defense.
    • IMHO , its all about perspective   If you treat Pierce as WR1, you will be disappointed   If you treat Pierce as a solid contributor, you will be pleased   - The man can block, maybe the best blocking WR on this team - The man has speed - The man can rotate in with our other WRs   I do believe that AD Mitchell will take over as a starting outside WR   The reality is, 17 games is a LONG season,    Pittman and AD Mitchell will be "fresher" for the end of the game as they are rotated in and out   The odds say that there will be injuries, and we could see Pierce be a starter on either side   I for one, WANT to keep Pierce thru his rookie deal (We will see after that)
    • Zach Moss is no RB1.  If he showed signs he was the Bills wouldn’t have traded him for Hines who also is no RB1.  Moss is a RB 2.  A good one too.  Fortunately for him a season playing behind the Colts OL worked out favorably for him. Moss became available because we have an RB1 and the Bengals jumped at the chance to fill a hole in their lineup and Moss can do that like he did for the Colts when Taylor wasn’t available.  He is not a back teams have to worry about like they have to do for Taylor.  Every team needs an RB1.  He was the Bills RB1 for a short time and shipped off to the Colts for Hines.  And they drafted him.  He certainly belongs on a NFL roster.  I wish he stayed to back up Taylor.  But money and opportunity always talks as it should.  I worry about our RB position if something happens to Taylor for a long period.  I think we should be looking for a proven player who would be that true backup you can rely on behind Taylor.  Right now that backup position is a position that concerns me.   The other being starting FS.
