Gavin Flash Mock: All Draft Selections for Five Rounds, plus Big Board and Info Links

Recommended Posts

NOTE: The title of the thread and the opening post have been edited. This thread shows the rules before the draft followed by the draft selections for every round.  The Big Board now shows only prospects that were not selected.

Contents:

  • Helpful links to research/plan your draft
  • NFL.com's big board (post #1) - NFLfan will "cut" each pick from the big board, and paste into the draft order as we progress through the mock.
  • Each round will have it's own post (#2+... ) of draft order.

In short, use this thread to keep up to date on prospects still available. This is one of many big boards. Here are some other helpful links.

The Washington Football Team (5 Round Mock Draft Results)

1st Round: Teven Jenkins, OT Okla. St. - Brings nastiness and physicality to the Washington offensive line.  Can play @ RT or moved to LT if necessary.  Improves toughness in the trenches on the offensive side of the ball.

2nd Round: Pat Friermuth, TE Penn St. -  "Baby Gronk" brings good after the catch ability with his physical running style. He teams with Logan Thomas to give Washington a formidable TE duo.

3rd Round: Davis Mills, QB Stanford - With two 3rd Round picks, Washington decides to take a flyer on a potential QB of the future.  Some scouts feel that Mills may be amongst the most pro ready  QB's in the draft coming from an established and well respected system at Stanford.  Mills has protypical size, pro traits and will have an opportunity to develop and learn for a year or two behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.

3rd Round: Cade Johnson, WR, South Dakota State - This Jack Rabbit impressed at the Senion Bowl against more highly rated competition and made a name for himself. He posted the best scores in one on one drills at the Senior Bowl.  He has the skills and quickness to challenge for and upgrade the WR 3 spot behind very solid receivers Terry McLaughin and free agent acquisition Curtis Samuel to give the Washington Wide Receiving Core an infusion of playmaking ability.

4th Round: Royce Newman, OG Ole Miss - A nice guard prospect who use his brains more than brawn to take proper angles to turn and seal off defenders in the run game. Very savy player who plays like a NFL veteran. Provides solid depth with a chance to battle for a starting position depending on how Washington's negotiations with All Pro Tackle Scherff goes.

5th Round: Monty Rice, LB Georgia- Linebacker who is coming off a season ending injury but positioned himself to participate in his Pro Day and seems ready to contribute at the next level.  Pretty good against the run and solid in coverage.  Size limitations may be a challenge and has some difficulty getting off blocks.  Could play Will Backer initially and potentially be a furute replacement for Bostic at Middle Linebacker if he develops at the next level.

Overall, I think I did a good job addressing WFT most critical needs. I would have liked to maybe grab a linebacker in an earlier round.  I like Jabrill Cox in the 3rd and was hoping Barnes would drop into the 5th round.  But I got a solid developmental guy in Rice in the 5th.  My intention was to continue to throw a couple more darts at building depth on the defense in the 7th round.   My main focus though was on improving the Washington offense.  Their defense is already very formidable and amongst the top defenses in the NFL.  Now the offense has more toughness on the Oline and more options at TE and WR to put up more points and make the team more competitive against some of the better teams in the league.

Philadelphia Eagles

Round 1: Jamar Chase, WR LSU

Round 2: Eric Stokes, CB Georgia

Round 3: Jabril Cox, LB LSU

Round 3: (Colts pick): Richie Grant, SAF UCF

Round 4: Marquez Stevenson, WR Houston

Round 5: Brevin Jordan, TE Miami

Man if the Eagles were to pull that off, that’s a crazy offense. Ertz will be released but you’d have Dallas Godert and Jordan at TE. Plus a receiver core of Jalen Reagor, Jamar Chase, and Stevenson plus their depth receivers like Fulgham and Whiteside. That would be a very nice offense.

On defense I think they’ve got a way better secondary. Slay is the perfect mentor for Stokes. Richie Grant can be moved around but will eventually be the long term Free safety. Jabril Cox can be a starting LB for them as that is a position they’ve struggled with since Kendricks left.

Speed is something the Eagles team has lacked for years at just about every position and I think this draft adds a bunch of speed mixed with playmakers.

Tennessee Titans draft:

Round 1.) Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia

Round 2a.) Tylan Wallace, WR, Oklahoma State

Round 2b.) Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State

Round 3.) Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa

Round 4.) Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Memphis

Round 5a.) Marlon Tiupulotu, DT, USC

Round 5b.) Trill Williams, SAF, Syracuse

I'm pretty happy with this honestly. Was able to trade down and get the best EDGE in the class for Tennessee at the 31st pick. In the 2nd round, I reached slightly on Wallace, however, I believe I got the last receiver in the 2nd tier there and an overall solid no2 receiver for the Titans behind AJ Brown. Asante Samuel Jr was a nice fall to me. He'll be an elite slot guy potentially for the Titans and has the ability to play outside as well. Spencer Brown was a bit of a fall as well as I let the O-Line run run its course and chose my guy in the third round after it slowed down. Incredible athlete, and can start at RT day 1 opposite Taylor Lewan.

The others are mainly backups to start their careers but they will contribute. Gainwell is like an Eckler clone to Henry. They both compliment each other very well and will make the Titans even more dangerous on offense. Tiupulotu and Trill Williams are solid depth pieces to start their careers, but can still get some playing time in year 1.

I would of taken Brevin Jordan in round 5, but he was sniped from me, so I just avoided the position for this 5 round mock draft.

Miami Dolphins - since they are going all in on Tua, I used the same mentality when approaching the draft.

6 OT Sewell - arguably the best OT in the class. Day one starter to protect Tua.

18 DE Oweh - running a 4.36 40 is absurd for a WR. Running a 4.36 as a DE at 6-5 and 257 is other-worldly. Raw guy who has room to add weight if needed. Early, he'll be a terror on passing downs. Miami blitzes at a top 5 rate (40ish% of downs).

36, OC Landon Dickerson - arguably the best OC in the class (I personally like Meinerz too). Day one starter that gives Tua a stud OC, and a stud LT. They took OL last year too, so combine, this OL should be top 5 for years to come.

50, WR Rondale Moore - luxury pick here as Miami also has some good WRs with DeVante Parker, FA William Fuller, an emerging 6-5 Preston Williams, and a good young 700 yard TE in Mike Gesicki. Moore should be an immediate impact on returns, and will be lightening at slot WR if he can stay healthy. Parker, Fuller, Moore, and Gesicki on the field at the same time is scary.

91 RB Javonte Williams - crazy the #1 RB was there at 91 lol. Williams IIRC has the highest broken tackle rate ever from PFF, is NFL ready 3 down back at 220, has a ton of tread left, and is still only 21...... Day one starter and bell cow.

127, WR Tutu Atwell - Another luxury pick here, but at minimum he can be an early return stud if they don't want to risk Moore in that capacity. And Atwell learning from a guy like Fuller is great. Having speed demons like Fuller, Moore, and Atwell is absurd. Atwell, even if he's limited to return ace and WR depth (injury insurance policy for Moore/Fuller), is a steal IMO at 127.

144 S Christian Uphoff (traded 6th and 7th to move up here) - small school team captain with NFL size/speed, who has position flexibility. He'll be #2 depth early, and starter if he can be coached up and become more consistent.

Undrafted Free Agensts

After NFL drafts, fans like me and @stitches are interested to see our teams sign undrafted free agents (UDFAs). Of the players still on this Big Board, who would you all like the Colts (or your favorite team) to sign as UDFAs?

Frank Darby WR

Darrick Forrest SAF

DJ Daniel CB

Jack Anderson G

Osa Odighizuwa DT

These guys would be a nice start to the Colts as UDFAs for real. I'm claiming them on the Titans though in this mock draft lol! :)

Thanks for playing along. I was going to add that I know we went only 5 rounds rather than 7. So, some of these guys may be drafted in the 6th or 7th rounds.

It's so hard to predict who will, and won't be drafted, but if we use the left overs on our current board, or predict some who could be available.... The last 2 guys I took for Miami could easily be available, but I grabbed them early. I took one of ND's DEs for commish picks, but they'll likely be available.

  • RB and TE in general are good, devalued positions to shop for as UDFAs.
  • Small school kids in general are great to kick tires on.

The guys I like that are currently available on our board.

Ben Skowronek  NOTRE DAME  5.86    WR - and make him a move-TE

Jaret Patterson  BUFFALO  5.98    RB - as depth RB, possibly RB2 when Mack leaves

Khyiris Tonga  BRIGHAM YOUNG  5.94    DT - project NT

Kylen Granson  SOUTHERN METHODIST  5.80    TE - purely a move-TE

Chauncey Golston IOWA 5.80 DE - pack some weight on him and use as a DE/3T tweener

Isaiah Mckoy  KENT STATE  5.69    WR - needs to convert to slot and work on technique.

Darius Hodge  MARSHALL  5.69  EDGE - see if you can convert him to MIKE, of not, SAM

Nick Eubanks  MICHIGAN  5.62    TE - Project, perhaps move-TE

Javon Mckinley  NOTRE DAME  5.60    WR - move to slot or convert to move-TE project.

Cary Angeline  NORTH CAROLINA STATE  5.60  TE - Pure detached TE option

Daelin Hayes  NOTRE DAME  5.53    EDGE - good traits, hampered by injury
Paddy Fisher  NORTHWESTERN  5.53    LB - just because I love the name lol... J/K... tackle machine, good kid, etc. Doesn't fit the traits aspects, but would love to have him as a STer.

Thank you.

As for small school, do you know this guy or the school?

Jaquan Hardy  TIFFIN UNIVERSITY  5.96

Never heard of Tiffin University.

I would take the best kicker available if he can make extra points. Vikes need a kicker but don't need to use a draft pick on one.

You must be a Notre Dame fan. Would you take a flyer on their QB?

Tiffin is a small Ohio school from the GMAC.

Here's Hardy's profile.

Quote

Lower-level running back with upper-level change of direction talent and lower-body balance. Hardy does a nice job of pressing the line of scrimmage before unleashing rhythmic, explosive cuts according to his reads. He has a tendency to do too much at times and will need to be more willing to shut a run down and move to the next one against NFL speed. He's quicker than fast, but his elusiveness, power and contact balance are all transferable traits into the league. A meniscus injury from 2018 could be a concern for teams, but he has the pure talent to become a committee back if the medicals check out.

I'm a ND fan no doubt. And I'd love to take a chance on ND UDFAs as at minimum, they'll be good PS guys and hard workers. I'm not too homerish on drafting them though. Like a lot of folks are clamoring for TE Tremble. I'm just not that high on him and wouldn't take him in the 2nd. I do love LB JOK though, but we have much bigger needs and he'll be gone anyway. There are several ND kids though I think have upside as UDFAs.

On Book/QB, love him, but I would not sign him. He'd be OK backup though, so perhaps he'd be good comp for 4th round draft pick Eason.

Here's my Bengals draft:

#5 Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida - best non-QB in the in the draft IMO. He's not your regular TE, he's closer to a WR in his explosiveness and route running. You can watch him regularly beat CBs that will go 1st or 2nd round in this draft.... Can line up anywhere in the formation, can run any level of routes... contrary to belief can block a bit too... not that you are drafting him to block... but you know that he won't be a liability there either. He immediately becomes the Bengals best receiver.

#33 (trade up from 39 for a 4th round pick) Micah Parsons, LB/DE, Penn State - he started falling and I decided to go up and get him. His talent is undeniable. Quite possibly the best defensive player in the draft. His draft stock was hurt by him skipping the season and having some off-field concerns. Otherwise not much not to like - sideline to sideline LB with incredible movement and the strength to keep clean from OTs... one of the best blitzers I've seen coming into the draft from the position... plus... a sneaky possible role for him - pass-rusher. He was recruited as a pass-rusher by multiple teams but ended up a LB at Penn State. I still think there is a chance he rushes the passer on passing downs. He will be the keystone of that new Bengals defense.

#69 Walker Little, OT, Stanford - one of my favorite OT prospects in this draft. Great size and movement for the position, especially laterally. IMO he's one of the better OTs technically in this draft. Unfortunate he missed almost 2 years of play because of injuries and COVID, but at the same time - this is why he probably falls in the draft.

#149 Marvin Wilson, DT, Florida state - he was considered a 1st round talent before this season, was one of the highest ranked DTs in the country 2 years in a row. Then this COVID season happened. I refuse to believe he suddenly forgot hot to play the game and I feel like the 5th round is a good spot to take a flyer on him with return to his original role where he was universally thought of as a great prospect. He has great size and violent hands. Wins with power/strength and effort... Great control over OL when 2 gapping with great extension on his arms. Also... gets a ton of deflections with his long arms.

That's my draft for the Bengals. I didn't try to address needs because I don't believe in needs-based drafting but I feel like all of those players will find their way on the field for the Bengals and I feel like they would improve the team a ton not just in the long run but in year 1 too.

Kind of hard to project because we did only 5 rounds so there will be about 100 more players taken in the real draft but still here's some players that stuck out to me from the remaining ones:

Shi Smith  SOUTH CAROLINA  6.00    WR

Khalil Herbert  VIRGINIA TECH  5.99    RB

Darrick Forrest  CINCINNATI  5.91    SAF

Ar'darius Washington  TCU  5.89    SAF ??? weird he wasn't drafted... I might have drafted him with my last pick if I had seen him still on the board

Jason Pinnock  PITTSBURGH  5.88    CB - for the Colts especially

Dan Moore Jr.  TEXAS A&M  5.86    OT

Kenny Yeboah  MISSISSIPPI  5.84    TE

Kylen Granson  SOUTHERN METHODIST  5.80    TE
Chauncey Golston  IOWA  5.80    DE

Jonathon Cooper  OHIO STATE  5.68    DE

Carson Green  TEXAS A&M  5.60    OT

I will say, @chad72 built one heck of a third of a team with Jacksonville in this draft. I was following along these nights and every time I saw the pick come in, was like this is unreal. 7 picks in the top 100

Thanks!!!

To summarize the Jacksonville picks in 5 rounds :) , the dozen of them:

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU

Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Tommy Tremble, TE, Notre Dame

Brady Christensen, OT, BYU

Daviyon Nixon, DT, Iowa

Chazz Surratt, LB, North Carolina

Israel Mukuamu, CB, South Carolina

Chubba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State

Shaka Toney, DE, Penn State

Andre Cisco, S, Syracuse

That's hell of a draft for the Jags.

Thanks.

I then saw their DL additions - their DL looks like this:

Malcom Brown, Dawuane Smoot, Adam Gotsis, Jihad Ward, Doug Costin, Daniel Ekuale, Taven Bryan, DaVon Hamilton, Roy Robertson-Harris, Daniel Ross, Josh Allen, Klavon Chaisson

That is why I chose only Daviyon Nixton to add to it, in case folks on the outside were wondering, given the Jaguars' run D issues. Run D, QB/offensive play and safety play were some of the worst in the league, so I think they will be better after this draft.

The Jets’ Draft:

After adding the franchise QB, I resisted the temptation to fill defensive holes as long as I could, so I could surround Wilson with tools to create an eventually dominant O (after plugging the gaping hole at CB).

1) Zach Wilson, QB, BYU

1) Caleb Farley, CB, Va. Tech

2) Quinn Meinerz, IOL, Wisc.-Whitewater

3) Dillon Radunz, OT, ND St.

3) D’Wayne Eskridge, WR, W. Mich.

4) Elerson Smith, EDGE, N. Iowa

5) Marco Wilson, CB, Florida

5) Garrett Wallow, LB, TCU

Next pick would have been Nick Eubanks, TE, Mich.

He should be well protected and with the defensive additions, Zach should have less pressure to score every time, which is the best thing you can do for a rookie - OL and defensive support.

What about a quality halfback? I like the Vera-Tucker pick but not sure about trading up for him. I'm not going to say it was a bad move but they were just plain bad last year. I could see doing that to fix one problem but I was terrified that they would take Harris. Can't believe Miami didnt take him but they did get Phillips.

That's like Pittsburgh trading a 4th next year to get Loudermilk in the 5th. A little dicey.
