Yep.... Patriots tampered and here's proof....

One thing to note: "While the health of Andrew Luck's throwing shoulder and the prospect of working for owner Jim Irsay were part of McDaniels' thought process in taking the job, he'd gotten comfortable with those issues and neither were the deciding factor for him to spurn the Colts, one person who knows McDaniels well said. "

Hearing all this "McDaniels went to the facility to clean out his office" stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dude was looking to be talked into staying. Making a show of his exit and everything. I said here on the day of the SB, during the Florio rumors, that I had this irrational fear that he'd pull out at the last minute. The next actual bit of news came the next day, "McDaniels will inform Belichick that he's taking job with Colts."

I just never felt right even hearing that. Always had this feeling that McDaniels was hoping to get talked into staying.

What the heck just happened? I get back from the casino and McDaniels bails? Wow... We are basically up a creek as far as everything goes: HC, coaching staff, FA's. We better get the Pats entire draft class this year as compensation. I'd like something to happen to McDaniels, but Nadine will perma-ban me if I go off on here, so I will keep my mouth shut.

Speak your mind man! U think potential FA will be running to this clown show now?

I think Ballard's credibility is shot now. Unless we bring in a big time HC like Saban or Harbaugh esque, this team will look like a joke. This is going to affect us in so many negative ways. My enthusiasm went from 10 to 0. I would hurt McDaniels if I saw him on the streets right now, and I'll leave it at that. This makes me furious.

Ballard isn't the one with credibility issues.

Well not all of the coaches are taken . . . it is my understanding that the colts only interviewed 6 coaches including Josh.  Surely, they stopped after Josh indicated that he was coming.

The colts interviewed Matt Nagy, Matt Rhule, Kris Richards, Dave Toub and Mike Vrabel.   Nagy was hired by the Bears before the colts even interviewed with Josh.  I heard through the grapevine that Vrabel did not want the job in Indy.  True Richards took a job in Dallas.  But that still leaves Rhule and Toub available to be hired by the colts.

So other than Richards, the colts interviewees were not coming to the colts anyways or are still available.

And agreed the colts would of stopped interviewing after they got the sense that Josh agreed.  Even then one still needs to look at what coaches would the Colts have interviewed that are not presently available, in another words ones that took new jobs and would have agreed to be the coach.

I agree it is a shock, but one would guess that the colts had a 2nd and 3rd choice in line.

I think it would be better to see how this plays out before we can get an assessment on the level of damage to the colts.

The larger issue is maybe the NFL should relook at the rule of allowing teams to interview with coaches that are still in the playoffs and perhaps wait till their season is over.  Sometimes coach/teams have a better time to look at things once their season is over and then they might have a clearer view and may change their minds.

And those choices are gone.

Rhule returned to Baylor btw. The level of damage can be huge. Affects Free Agency, affects draft, affects a lot of things. There is no sugar coating this, its a shoot show, all because one man couldn't keep his word.

Need to do a Ricky Steamboat on him right? Or put him through an unbreakable table from the top of steel cage perhaps?

Weird because they said "cesspool" about us too lol

Funny how yesterday the Pats fans wanted McDaniels gone. They were ready for a change, wanted a new offense.

Now today they are rejoicing over this news because it hurts the Colts. What a treacherous franchise the Pats are. Scum of the Earth. Without BB, that team will be a bottom feeder team. Will be happening in the very near future...

Apologies to Florio, he was right.

I was afraid of this. I said it a few weeks ago. Just like his boss with the Jets.

Unbelievable.

Florio was right but for the wrong reasons.  I wouldn't give him any sort of credit.  Certainly not an apology.  "Uhh, he might not leave the Patriots because he hasn't told anyone."  That's nothing.  Had he said "Hey, McDaniels is going to reneg on the Colts because Belichick is making a hard push to keep him," then yeah.  But this, this is unprecedented with any other team except for the New England Patriots with Parcells and Belichick.

Just because the most talked about guys are gone doesn't mean they're the only quality coaches.

there are not many people out there who are qualified to do this.  this wasnt exactly a great class of coaches either

thats why im worried about the big names being gone

That's why Chris Ballard is in charge and you (and I) aren't. He knows more than just the "hot" names. There's a ton of examples of coaches working out great who weren't the first choice and probably thousands of examples of the first choice not working out. Some people need to chill out.

I am looking forward to seeing the fire hydrant unload on the Pats.

Image result for what goes around comes around

Yeah, this won't be a quick recovery, but you can bet this isn't going to go well with the other 31 owners.  They Patriots might not get fined, and that's okay.  If teams can't do it on the field, I would not at all be surprised if any non-Patriot owner/GM not blacklists the Patriots making things difficult to recover from post-Brady/Belichick.  Josh McDaniels on the other hand has secured that he won't have a head coaching job for any team other than New England.  He put all his eggs in one basket, and that basket comes with impossible expectations - if he falls short of the Pats fans Belichickian expectations, he won't survive long.  It's hard enough for guys to get a 2nd chance, let alone a 3rd chance after you sacrificed your integrity just for the 2nd.

Venturi is great after the fact on the Radio

Venturi was not a good HC

Neither was McDaniels.  Gotta get someone, at least for a year, and Venturi knows football like no other coach that I have listened to.   Look at who we've had.  Caldwell, Pagano.  Both horrible at even discussing the game or strategy.

Venturi knows the Colts players' strengths and weaknesses very well. Not only is he great after the fact, as you say, but he always comes up with a game plan in advance, based on the next opponents strengths and weaknesses. Not sure Pagano could.
