I really feel like people don't even understand how things work anymore. The NFL can do whatever it wants with its arbitrary ideologies that dictate the process for which it itself operates. This isn't some cell phone that your teacher confiscated.

Yikes

Quote

accused the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell of fraud, racketeering, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress after handing down and upholding the initial ruling against the Patriots stemming from the 2015 AFC Championship Game.

The aftermath saw the organization fined $1 million and forced to overturn its 2016 first-round pick and 2017 fourth-round pick. But the response to those measures, including the reluctant acceptance by Robert Kraft last summer, did not sit well with the fans despite the team owner’s last-gasp letter to Goodell this spring.

“Defendant Robert Kraft had remedies to attempt to get Plaintiffs’ draft pick back, but he chose his fellow billionaire owners above the Plaintiffs and fellow fans,” the suit reads, claiming that Kraft violated the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act.

It is yet another layer of the saga to digest.

The last one was the NFL’s appeal of U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman’s decision to vacate the league’s four-game suspension for quarterback Tom Brady.

In response, the NFL issues a blanket "Denial of the allegatations to the complaint.  Emphasis, on "Denial."   The judge agrees and issues his final order, "Under court law, 'they hate us cuz they ain't us' is not a cause of action, much less one for which petitioners can state a claim for relief.  This court agrees to a denial, while neither affirming nor denying the same to Petitioner's mental state, of the allegations and the case is therefore dismissed."

Who else is picturing a group of very intoxicated Bostonians.all lined up on barstools while sucking down Sam Adams and "chowda",  Deeply involved in a legal discussion of the NFL "stealing our picks."

oh wait, i saw that in the 80s.  I think it was called CHEERS.

WOW

I just watched the news & it was the funniest thing I ever heard its hilarious .

1 Patriot fan said his 7 year old is so upset she can no longer watch the Patriots  Really .

The other 31 teams & there fans are jealous that is why they lost there 1'st round pick ?

I guess a decade of well documented cheating with videos means nothing because they got a slap on the wrist .

The Patriots & there fans can come in here & say whatever they want but at the end of the day 31 teams & there fans will be laughing at the :flyingelvis:

there team & especially there fans who are nothing but whiners & cheaters who when caught red handed want to blame the NFL for there self inflicted wounds .

IMO the only thing funnier than this is if the Brady suspension is reinstated & he sits 4 games this season  :Nuke:

What is really a slap in the face is that Mass is a Baseball state. Most of their fans love the RedSox way more than the Patriots or Celtics, Celtics are actually 2nd by how most of the state thinks. Yet we are called fair weather fans by their fan base? Once Tom Brady retires or BB leaves, that fan base will disappear in seconds. Colts fans however are stronger than ever post Peyton and he's been gone for 5 years. Indiana/Indianapolis definitely has better Football fans than Mass/Boston.

Oh please. The Patriots have sold out every game since 1994 and their season ticket waiting list is at like 15 years or something. This lawsuit is stupid, but it is no more indicative of the type of fans we have than any other team's when there's some dumb story like this.

I'm a New England Patriots fan. You can't do this to me.

You're in a class with only the Saints fans and one litigious Cowboys fan sitting in prison...I'm sure that's teh company you want to be in when it comes to things that happen on the football field (i.e. not involving ticket sales or teams leaving their city for another).

I think that Kraft said all he needed to say when he didn't even appeal this penalty in the 1st place.  Pretty much an admission of guilt.  The courts have so far ruled that nothing can be 100% pinned on Brady, but let's not pretend that the Pats been exonerated somehow.  Innocent teams don't basically admit to cheating by not even appealing the penalty...

Can all other fan bases sue the Pats for cheating, thus destroying the integrity of the league?  Or maybe they should sue the NFL for allowing it to happen.

In the end cheaters are never celebrated, see BBonds, Sosa, Mark McGwire, Lance Armstrong and soon to be added to the list, Kraft, BB & Brady.

There is a lot more at stake here than a late 1st round pick.  I wonder when Pats fans will begin to realize this.  Historically speaking we're talking White Sox bad.  Maybe it will set in when Brady is serving his suspension because it seems the loss of a pick has only made Bostonians even more defiant, driving them deeper into denial.

The pick forfeiture, fine and Brady's suspension all but confirm guilt.  Pats fans are less worried about the pick, fine or suspension but realize if they can recoup the pick or fine, or convince Roger to rescind Tom's suspension, then, in their eyes, it equates to innocence.

I don't see any other teams fan base trying to FILE A LAWSUIT to get its team's draft picks back.

In other situations there was proof of wrongdoing where there was no argument to be had.

I've already said that the whole thing is stupid, it's going nowhere, and in the end it's just a vocal protest by 7 total fans. Get that? 7. So let's not act like this is some kind of evidence of a bandwagon fan base and use it as some trump card saying you have better fans.

There isn't an argument to be had here either. The NFL made its ruling and is not giving back the draft pick.

Again, show me a fan base that is stooping to this level. Heck, even the Patriots journalist community is unabashed in its Patriots fandom. There's too much Patriots Kool-Aid being sipped on out there.

Fans drink Kool-Aid in every single city for every single sport...it just happens to be a different color. That isn't a trait reserved specifically for those darn Patriots fans in the Northeast.

I'm well aware of the situation, I know the NFL isn't going to return the picks, and I know this lawsuit is dumb...but as I said...it is only 7 fans out of the entire fan base doing this and is therefor not reflective of the intellect or general fandom in this area as some want to claim. I'm sure I could walk into Lucas Oil Stadium on any given Sunday and find a handful of fans wearing speed blue that directly contrast the self-proclaimed  'classy' perception that is often associated with your fan base.

I guess our courts system don't have any better things to do?

the court is the Patriot way of showing us & the other 30 teams just how delusional some fans can be & as much as the Patriots use the court system you'd almost get the impression that being a Patriot fan is really tough & that the best way to support a lying cheating video taping team is to file suit in a way that makes your whole fanbase look like whiners . I love this about Patriot there not afraid of looking silly & if a 7 year old is smart enough to not want to watch the Patriots any longer because even she realizes right from wrong , I say that 7 year old is smarter than most .

Yes this is correct & during that time your team cheated many times & video taped other teams practices & had a murderer on your team this is what that 15 year span represents .

Fans every where drink Kool aid sure. only in New England its consumed via intravenous drip 24-7 .

Or...you know...it represents THIS:

:lombardi:   :lombardi:   :lombardi:   :lombardi:

And careful...the Colts may have had a murderer on their roster during their 'glory days' as well... ... ...

Only to Patriot fans ,  Everywhere else it proves that cheaters do prosper which 1 of those did Hernandez play in ?

I doubt that my Colts, unlike the Patriots are a pretty good judge of character & don't except gangbangers & thugs just because they can play , Only the Patriots out of all 32 teams would sign a guy who would become a multiple murderer the dude was a hood rat the signs were there .

As I said the decade did belong to the Patriots and they did whatever they wanted using every slimy trick out there & outside of the delusional Patriot fan most grade your teams accomplishments right up there with Sammy Sosa Barry Bonds & Mark McGuire & Lance Armstrong ..

:flyingelvis::Nuke:       Patriot fans like to brag , Own it & enjoy the fruits of the video's &  Ball boys its awesome at the end of the day there will always be an asterisk next to that decade & anything accomplished, enjoy it   means very lil to a very large portion of NFL fans .

And best of all the lawsuit paints a pretty picture & I can guarantee you many people have laughed till there ribs hurt picturing Patriot fans actually putting pen to paper it was a gift thank you , as a Colt fan I can appreciate the blind faith you people exhibit in your team its commendable but then again Manson had his blind faith followers to & so did Koresh .

I only Posted what I posted because I knew you would respond haha I really did. It is true though that a lot of your fanbase and other fanbases call Colts fans fairweather fans. I think that used to be true before we drafted Peyton but even ever since Peyton hasn't been here in Indy we still sell out every game.

But Tawm Braydy is wicked good and Coach B is the greatest since clam chowdah! Nevah mind that every single one of ah wins is tainted cawse we live in denial...every othah team did what we did but didn't get caught.

Lol, on a serious note, the fans that are "suing" probably aren't the everyday Pat's fan...though our Court System is taxed enough without more frivolous lawsuits...

You mean there is zero proof? Only speculative assumption?

Many here love to talk about 'the smoking gun' in regards to Deflategate...I guess that thinking only applies when the situation doesn't involve one of your own? Even if there was, quite literally, a smoking gun?

Weird.

  Smoking gun ..

On June 26, 2013, the nation awoke to the sight of a star player on one of the NFL's model franchises being escorted out of his house by police, a T-shirt pulled over his cuffed wrists. New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was charged later that day with the murder of Odin Lloyd, whose body had been found six days earlier near Hernandez’s home.

Since then, Hernandez has been charged with two previous murders and implicated in the shootings of three other people in two separate incidents dating back to his college days. A timeline of what has emerged about Hernandez in the past year:

PHOTOS: Aaron Hernandez investigation

Sept. 30, 2007 — Two men are shot in Gainesville, Fla., and four Florida football players are questioned, including freshman tight end Aaron Hernandez. Hernandez remains a person of interest in the Florida investigation.

:Nuke:   Like I said warning signs ignored for wins in a game  when winning is all that matters it can get embarrassing for those who live in denial .

In the north east, there is apparently no such thing as evidence. Old dialects apparently dont even have a word for it up there.

The word would be Lombardi's ..

If there were 1 because thats the only evidence needed IMO being a Patriot fan means that having a blind eye & a short memory will insure the joy you have in winning tainted games pretty much Billicheats entire career in New England .

Your thoughts on 'The Asterisk Project', started by Colts fan Jim Purucker?

http://www.ibj.com/blogs/4-the-score/post/55427-statehouse-lobbyist-starts-campaign-to-attach-asterisk-to-patriots-record?id=4-the-score?id=4-the-score

“We need your help so the NFL hears from their fans that we don’t want the Patriots’ cheating ways to fade away like Tom Brady’s punishment for Deflategate did,” Purucker wrote on his website.

The 51-year-old Indianapolis resident—and self-described diehard Colts fan—insists this initiative is no joke. And he has plenty of experience with moving the needle on a cause.
