I like Fleener, I really do, but I still think he plays rather soft and doesn't dominate his matchups as you would expect of someone his size. He doesn't look for contact and that's a quality I like out of TE's. Like Doyle, dude doesn't shy away from contact.

I doubt it. Why sign Allen? Keep Doyle for cheap and mold one of the young TE's. We have. The money we'd use on Allen could be use to replace Greg Toler cause he is just awful

Didn't get to see the game, but I'm hoping with Chud, he uses Fleener to create mismatches which could help the pass game.  With his speed and size, I would love to see Fleener in the slot more forcing the defense to play a safety on him straight up or a LB.  With his speed, he could cause some havoc on the defense.

 

He definitely grown and deserve to be resigned.

TE's were heavily featured. It was a real balanced attack. The only person who didn't do anything really was Andre Johnson

I think the emergence of Jack Doyle makes Dwayne Allen potentially expendable.

 

Allen has to show he can stay healthy and contribute in a meaningful way.

 

Allen is a player that the phrase "the best 'ability' is availability" was invented for.

Not bad for a third tightend!  Honestly none of the Colts tightends are as good as say Gronk but as a whole we might have the best unit of them in the NFL. 

 

The biggest change I noticed today in the offense outside of execution and a better job mixing up the play calls was a focus on the tightends in the passing game.  A third of Luck's passes went their way today.  I think that's a weapon we are going to see a lot more of.

Doyle's block last year on an onside kick...I can't remember for the life of me what team it was but it was like a a frickin' car accident. After that I knew that guy likes to be physical

Keep him, but not for elite TE money. Let DA go and keep Doyle. We will still be young, versatile and talented at TE without being overextended with the cap. This team still has some holes to throw money at.

4 Catches 22 Yards

Not exactly a "Start him in fantasy football every week" kinda game but he did what he was asked and played his role. It was a team win, no one really stood alone like Antonio Brown did for the Steelers

Don't judge the TEs too much. Remember, Pep Hamilton has been coaching them. Lets see what they do with Chud game planning and tweaking things.  Really hope Chud is back next year and see where they go.  I like Coby.  I think he needs more shots down the seam.

I'm okay with moving on from Allen, unless we can bring him back for a reasonable price. We can always bring someone in via. free agency or the draft to replace allen.

What's wrong with Allen btw. Fleener and Allen I thought was gonna be the next best TE duo in the league for a long time. Allen regressed a lot after injuries. Allen seems not to be able to make those tough catches anymore or block all that well. While Fleener is getting better I don't think he is going to get top dollar with the production he has had.

At this point it comes down to asking price. Allen has been hurt a lot and he's been straight up not that good when he's been on the field so far this season. There's definitely a lot of talent there but wouldn't it be nice to use that extra cash as part of the contract to find a DB, Edge rusher, or O-lineman? Again, depends on what he'd be willing to sign for, he certainly hasn't earned a big contract this season.

Allen did a lot of dirty work.  You also had Ward patrolling everywhere.  Behind the scenes, Allen was a factor.

 He rarely is that OPEN. Hoping Chud figures some ways to create space for him so we can see some straight arms.

Barnidge and Ledarius Green are both UFAs along with Allen and Fleener. Maybe we should look outside for a replacement while re-signing our own RFA (Doyle).

Totally agree. At this point Allen has regressed from his great rookie year. Doyle and Fleener, plus another blocking TE, and you have a solid, durable group, with $ saved in the process.  Use that extra money to get Vontae a better partner in the D backfield together with some semblance of a pass rush and suddenly the D is one to be reckoned with.

I personally think Doyle is highly dependable and as tough as they come.
