Seahawks traded their 1st, 3rd, and 7th round pick for Harvin to play like 6-8 games. 

 

They did get a SB out of his cameo appearance though, a SB that some wait an entire lifetime for and not get to experience.

 

The Harvin and Cliff Avril factor of folks not having enough film on them and those guys not having as much wear and tear on them due to their injuries earlier contributed big time to that SB blowout, IMO plus a mistake here, a mistake there, and a mistake everywhere from the Broncos.

You add a dynamic offensive player for a mid round pick. It's a no brainer. Let the future get figured out when the time comes.

 

Although, in the unlikely event that the Jets go on a tear for the rest of the season, if it saves Rex Ryan's job, that's probably a net negative. It's time for him to go, either way.

Ryan is gone. The move was to save Idzik's job. He is already planning for next year which is smart and the players he wants along with his new HC I am sure.

Harvin reminds me of Santonio Holmes, another self-absorbed malcontent who played WR for the Jets. In addition to everything else that's been reported (fights with teammates, etc. ), there is this from a Seahawks site:

How team's handle adversity is key in turning around a negative situation into a positive one. It has been reported that Harvin refused to go back into the game vs the Cowboys which forced Seattle's hand to trade him. We will see how Carroll continues to manage a volatile situation with the Hawks on the road for the next two games vs the Rams and Panthers.

This morning the ESPN pre-game show guys were saying the Jets gave up a 6th rounder, with as high as a 4th rounder if Harvin performs up to certain benchmarks.  Wow!...a 6th? They also said that he refused to take the field in the 4th quarter against the Cowboys last week, and that was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm starting to wonder if all these reports coming out of Seattle are a PR move to make them not look as bad for trading a bunch of draft picks and putting a lot of money into a player who did not fit there system then trading him for what could be as low as a 6th round draft pick . Percy has been productive as a receiver/runner/returner even with sub par Qb's until he went to Seattle . Many teammates paint a different picture of the teams dysfunction to the extent Lynch was hesitant to even go to last weeks game in frustration of the teams mismanagement .
