I would as well Brother ,We both really liked this guys potential,and disappointment has set in on this,but if this is something illicit,other than some things that were prescribed to him.I say let him go and move on.These kinda things are becoming more and more common and I don't mind saying that I hate seeing these kids squandering opportunities ! We have that in Lanear Sampson from Baylor, IMO. Plus, both Jeremy Kelley and Jabin Sambrano along with Whalen and Palmer are going to be fighting for the No.4 and No.5 spots. I just dont see Lavon Brazil outshining them for a spot.

 

5 WRs and 4 TEs is the direction I expect us to go in this offense.

Palmer makes this team....Grigs loves him in Peps system.  A couple of publications listed Palmer as the Colts secret weapon.  I think the Pep offense really benefits him. (WCO tendencies)

Lots of JAGs in the NFL. Including Lavon Brazill, despite his speed. Usually, your 5th receiver is a JAG. That's why he's the 5th receiver.

There has to be a WR other than T.Y. that will get some return duties, that might be the clincher for the #5 WR, all other things equal with the #4 WR. I am sure T.Y's PR duties will be extremely limited in pre-season, so expect the other wideouts to duke it out on that front. Similarly, once Kerwynn Williams shows something in the return game in pre-season, they probably make him a cinch for KR, and let the others duke it out from that point onwards.

 

The #4 and #5 WRs could come down to a combo of specialist downs, red zone threats, and ST duties, IMO.

Out of the "best of the rest" receivers I'd like to see Kelly work out just for the novelty of seeing a tall WR wear the horseshoe. Realistically I'd expect Whalen to be best placed to oust LB closely followed by Palmer.

I said this 3 months ago...he would have made the team with or without Brazill's mis-judgement Krunk.....some have Palmer as an 'unknown weapon.'  The WCO 'principle' offense has his name written all over it.  Good post!!

I'd just like to point out that teams don't usually release players because they get suspended for violating the substance abuse policy. I don't know why so many people are advocating holding the Colts to such a high standard in this case. It doesn't help Brazill's chances, but I think the calls to get rid of him on this basis (even considering his less than PR-friendly tweets) are overboard.

 

I don't know whether he's being humble and contrite with the team. I don't know when they found out about his violation. They might be super upset, and maybe this, along with other things, costs him a spot on the team. But I don't think the Colts are going to release Brazill simply because of this.

If he is a headache there is no point in keeping him. He hasn't shown anything to justify keeping him around that is worth the headache. Honestly I could care less....I don't see him as being a major contributor to this team now or ever. You cut him because he is a repeat offender. They gave him chances, they had the come to Jesus talk with hom but he continued to do it.

Between Palmers secret status, and Griff did look good last pre-season, I really thing Brazill was going to have to prove something this season before this incident.......unless productivity dictates otherwise, I think Lavon runs the real risk of being odd man out with this little incident.

I totally agree with you crunked.  I was unaware that Brazill's work ethic was a little suspect and I guess he skipped the voluntary mini-camp?  I think I read that.  

 

I really thought he was on his way this year to some playing time...liked his effort and willingness to play special teams too....

One that amazes me is adderall.  While it is an amphetamine, it is one of the most prescribed drugs in the US.  If it is a prescription, IMO it should not be banned.  As I have said before, the same should go with steroids....if prescribed to benefit injury recovery.  Just my opinion....
