Our 1st round draft pick Bejorn Werner isn't getting done at least not yet. My opinion for what it's worth is that he's like a 6 round pick instead of a 1st! What does everyone else think?

I believe he's a miss and I hope I'm wrong but IMO he just isn't paining out.

Yeah..... Let's give up on the 2nd year player who had to learn a NEW position plus learn the NFL his rookie year then went up against 2 of the best tackles in the game in his first year starting

Makes perfect sense, yep he's a bust

*Stamps bust next to Werner's name and ships paper off to lost cause bin*

I didn't have high expectations for him to start with.  He's a 4-3 DE and they're trying to make him play a 3-4 OLB.  It's like putting a square peg into a round hole (sounds kinda familiar with this regime...).  I can't say for sure, but I think Grigson and Pagano were enamoured by his ability to bat balls down and they desired to have a guy who can do some of the things JJ Watt can do, so they pulled the trigger.  I have no doubt that he's talented, but he isn't panning out in this defense so far.  I'm still hoping he proves me wrong

His high end should be as an Anthony Spencer type given his size and athleticism.
That is 6 sacks, 60+ tackles and good at setting his edge. A Valuable commodity.
He is coming along OK just starting his second season. Unfortunately we lost our only pure rusher and Cam Johnson who looked promising, so he is going to see a lot of LT`s which isn`t what he is built for. lol

It's funny cause this is Peps second year in the NFL too and you want the guy dead.

..... Cause he sucks. Shows no hint of improving at all. Only time he changed his ways was when Reggie went down.

Maybe Reggie has to go down again to get him to realize the other weapons he has besides Hilton & Reggie

Just stop. You watch three games a year. He has not been great, but not nearly as bad as you suggest

I never liked the pick to begin with. I wanted someone more polished and NFL ready.. Some of these guys never develop and when they do it's 4-5 years down the road

Actually more than 3 games so kill that noise. And yes, he really is that bad. Expecting Chudzinski to take over here soon enough

Assistant to HC is just a front. He's taking over OC

I don't think he's a bust, but his first round status was probably too high, given his production.

Yep, you don't take a 1st rounder to be a backup

Whoever you pick first is supposed to be someone who's gonna come in and impact/start from day one

Not understanding why these teams are taking 1st rounders then making them sit. Like the Jags, who takes a QB #3 overall and makes them sit?

The first person you pick is basically who you feel is the best player on your board.

Least that's how I'd do it

How's Chud going to take over for Pep as the OC when he's on the Browns payroll?  Chud is not taking over anything.

People are doing all this begging for Chud and the Panthers and Cam Newton basically launched veiled attacks against

him when he was there.   And then there's the thing with the Browns.  Why are people talking this dude up as some sort

of savior God?  He's got flaws just as much as the ones perceived with Pep.

Some folks have trouble with reality. Chud will not be the OC at any point this season

Werner was in a historically weak (on paper at least) draft class. I think most (experts/gm's) Identified only 12 to 18 players with a first round grade. This years draft had far more blue chip prospects but drafting outside of the top 10 or so is always a crap shoot, make no mistake. I am undecided on Werner for reasons previously mentioned.

On a side note I just try to enjoy the journey of my team, it makes Sundays so much more enjoyable. I am a recovered armchair general manager/owner/coach, now I'm a fan only, I feel no need to skewer the players and management for perceived or actual mistakes. I hate poor play, but damn I do love a good story and these colts have delivered so far, so I am gonna just go with it. Enjoy the season, be thankful you weren't born in Jacksonville, and GO HORSE!

Newton's problem was he couldn't grasp the entire playbook after playing a rather simple offense at Auburn.

Not including 2013 which was an extreme year, Mathis averaged 9.1 sacks a year for first 10 years of career. He had 10.5 in his second year.

Can Werner attain those numbers? Definitely. Werner is getting some pressure, just hasn't been able to finish. He will learn to finish.

i agree...i think he has forgotten about hakeem nicks..barley any targets in the first two games soo far

Wikipedia: BARLEY- A member of the grass family, is a cereal grain. It was one of the first cultivated grains and

is now grown widely. Barley grain is a staple in Tibetan cuisine and was eaten widely by peasants in

Medieval  Europe. :)

And then the pass we give him goes negative yardage on a screen pass

You don't use a WR like Nicks on a screen pass. You use him on fades & other jump ball situations. The man's hands are the size of some people's head. He could palm someone's head like lebron palms a basketball

Even use him on slant routes and let him box out the CB and make the play.

It's so frustrating watching talent being wasted.

Bradshaw has proven (so far) that we should re-sign him after this season barring injury so hopefully he continues as time goes on cause when healthy dude is a savage

But when will Nicks get his chance to shine? He's on a one year deal so he has to put up to warrant Grigson bringing him back and Irsay signing that check

and he's not using allen right..unless allen is still not completely 100% healed yet...idk why pep is limiting his role...and it feels like he's turning Luck into a very average QB by taking the ball out of his hands soooo much...he waits til we're down by a couple of td's to start throwing the ball more..his play calling has been garbage..i hope he gets it together..

Yep, it's like he just doesn't get it. Like he doesn't know what to do with all the talent

Must be a Stanford thing cause all they had was a good offensive line & good TE's. He's not use to having other players that shine

Allen was a massive reason why we ran all over the Eagles, And Luck IS a very average QB at this point in his career who makes GREAT plays late in games. He gets off to slow starts

Well, if I don't get quoted about Pep, I won't rant. Pretty sure everyone knows where I stand on the matter by now

Which is why I don't understand why you have to keep on about it, even in threads that are entirely unrelated.

How you post is up to you. I'm just stating that I think it's getting old.
