I think he could be a cheap(er) option for D-line depth.

If Redding retires, Fairley and Langford would be great signings. Then I'd draft a NT like Jordan Phillips. But I'm hoping Redding comes back for another year as a backup/rotational D-Lineman, and we sign Fairley.

There's no reason to cut Chapman.    He's still on his rookie contract which means he's cheap.

 

There's still reason to believe he can get better.

 

And teams still need depth.    Not everyone is a starter and every team needs back-ups.

This would be a good signing.  A better fit than Fairley at a much cheaper price with no baggage.  He's also durable.

Yes.  Donald was more of a 3-tech for the Rams I believe and Langford was a converted 34 DE.  He still did well, but I think he'd fit better with the Colts than he did with the Rams.

I would like this signing. We are down two on the DL with redding and rjf gone. I think he is a good upgrade over rjf.... But expect another bigger DT signing.

I expect either Langford or Chris Canty signed, possibly both. Easily with the latter on a 1-2 year deal.

Kendall Langford is flying to Indianapolis tomorrow to meet with the Colts.

Langford is a good gap penetrator, I think he needs to play at 290-300lbs and drop some weight, It seems to me he wears down as games go along, Good as a rotational interior pass rusher

He's a good player, and not a rotational guy at all. He's started for years and made plays. He would be a nice replacement for Redding. I think he's also a guy you can put inside in a four-man rush on 3rd and long.

Thing is, if you've got Superbowl aspirations then you better have some decent depth, no way your starting 22 stays healthy all the way through.

On a 53 man roster, there are going to be plenty of bargin basement signings....

 

Every team has them....   especially ever good team.

Guy was productive in a great front in STL. They drafted Donald to replace him and thats what they did. He didn't get cut or anything for not being productive...they simply signed one of the best DTs in recent draft history so obviously they don't have room for him. Thats an awesome front they have in STL...I'd be thrilled to have this guy in our rotation.

Yeah if Redding retires Langford's a perfect backup, but not as a starter!!! We need to sign some beasts to start. Ngata, Williams, Knighton, Fairley, etc.
