That is cool..I'm all for it in the offseason but during the season I think its best to keep ones nose to the grindstone and block out outside noise.

That said....it was a GREAT year from Robert....showed even without Freeney he is still a freak and one of the greatest Colts of all time.

I will say I wonder which threads he read...we have a lot of embarrassing threads and posts lol.

Alright guys. I'll come clean.

I'm Robert Mathis.

And to answer your next question. I am able to post on here, and play at the same time, because I have an iPhone strapped to my arm. So when I get a sack I can post "SACK!!!" Simultaneously.

Robert won't find any criticism from anybody here.

We are all fortunate to have Robert on the Colts team and watch him play, especially these past few years.

If the Colts EVER succeed in 'building the monster', it will be because Mathis is "Monster ONE".

Keep it going, Robert...your play is appreciated by all.

Well; now hopefully we'll see some changes from McGlynn & Satele next season. I'm sure some of the other Colts players may follow this and check in on the forum a few times now themselves

Then many people had better hope that McGlynn and Satele don't read this and figure out who they are for reals.  I have a feeling life could turn out a little unpleasant for them.    :peek:

I'm not surprised that a player or players read the forums... But still heart warming to know someone like #98 has an interest in what us mere mortals are saying.

I reckon Luck checks them out over WAP on his flip phone :P

Uuh...too busy playing board games to play on the interwebs.  Duh.   haha

Nothing but respect for Robert Mathis. A true Colt through and through.  Great season...Sack Champion...DPOY imo.  Hope he finishes his career in Indy.

Now the Colts really need to find him some more help in the pass rush. 98 racks up that many sacks this year...our defense should have been among the league leaders in that category.   Well Mathis... since you read these boards...please tell Griggs to get you some help and an interior offensive line.  Too soft in the middle.  Also tell T-Rich that the Colts fans expect more than 2.9 yards per carry for our 1st round investment.   So hope he's better next year.  Thanks.

Don't back down now, tell Mathis how he was ineffective and not getting enough pressure as you told us a few months ago.

I'm like an elephant . . . I never . . . Dammit I forgot what elephants are known for.

Life is peanuts....unless a Mathis 'strip-sack' just hit...said the elephant...

No fair! You edited the taped part out of your comment!  I was gonna say Mathis would be able to afford more than tape to attach an iPhone to his arm.   :P

Nope i said he was inconsistent getting pressure in the regular season which was true. He had a game or 2 without a sack, and many times he'd go quarters without getting any pressure on the qb. I did acknowledge that it is mostly our lack of pass rushing talents fault though, and I give him full credit for his game changing plays.

I think you're forgetting that you started the Aqib Talib fake injury conspiracy in the other thread.

Yeah, the Colts need to make Werner stronger, faster, motivated...maybe some bionic implants, hypnosis and repeated tail-kicking.

They should have Mathis stay in Indy for the combine. I think him chasing the college QB's around would help scouts evaluate them.

Not just on the field either, he should lurk around the building and just tackle them when ever he runs across one.

    • The criteria is the Colts want to keep you but you’re a fringe player. It all comes down to how much the Colts like your nephew. He could surprise and if he does they may not want to put him on the PS out of fear of losing him to another team. The good thing is the Colts love their oline players, and will keep lower level draft picks/UDFA lineman over other positions. There’s quite a few later round guys the colts have kept on that have shown to be pretty good level guys with bright futures.    there’s not really any criteria for being signed to the PS other than they want to see how much better a guy can get over there.    most of the time, an older guy is either ineligible for the PS because of how many games he’s started, or it’s not worth it because you see what the guy is over what he can become (as he’s been in the league a while).   odds are the younger guy gets signed to the ps over the older guy.
    • Remember all those years we watched Mannings fluttering passes downfield? 100 Int's even over his 1st 5 seasons. Not counting many Playoff interception disasters.  No flutters for AR ! Just less closing time for the D.
    • I just read the article on Stampede Blue.  It’s an old clip of him dunking.     I’m pretty sure they told him not to do that during this time.  He did say he’d be throwing with the guys.
    • I am always impressed with the knowledge on this forum so I thought I would ask a question about the practice squad as opposed to trying to figure it out on my own.   We have a UDFA Dalton Tucker on the OL (Guard Tackle) Currently listed as 3rd team behind Q and Stills. He is my nephew-in-law and a great young man. He is a good OL with a lot of flexibility or otherwise the Colts would not have signed him. However would be a very long shot to make the team at this time due to the returning player and two OL draft picks.  The question is how many OL do we normally keep on the Practice Squad and what are the criteria? In all my years of following the Colts have just not paid attention to the details. If it came down to Stills or Dalton for the PS is Stills or Pinter eligible and would you put a more veteran player on the PS or would you prefer a younger player assuming you thought he could develop? Pay-wise do all PS players get the same? I also understand that PS players attend home games on the sidelines and practice with the team since they are designated as practice squad. Any information is appreciated as I will be following this aspect a lot closer this fall.
    • I thought he said he wasn’t going to play BB?  How old is that video?
