The Indianapolis Colts today agreed to terms with wide receiver Deion Branch, elevated wide receiver Josh Lenz from the practice squad to the active roster and released defensive tackle Christian Tupou from the practice squad. The team also placed defensive end Fili Moala and cornerback Greg Toler on Injured Reserve.

Branch, 5-9, 195 pounds, holds career totals of 518 receptions for 6,644 yards and 39 touchdowns in 140 regular season games (111 starts). He has also recorded 64 receptions for 948 yards and four touchdowns in 17 postseason games (13 starts). Branch is a two-time Super Bowl winner and was awarded the Pete Rozelle Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXIX. His 11 receptions in the game tied the Super Bowl record, also achieved by Jerry Rice, Dan Ross and Wes Welker. Branch also led all receivers in Super Bowl XXXVIII and has totaled a combined 21 receptions in three Super Bowl appearances, which ranks third all-time, trailing only Jerry Rice (33) and Andre Reed (27).

Branch set a team playoff record with 153 receiving yards on eight catches in the Patriots’ 2005 Divisional Playoff game at Denver. He also grabbed a 73-yard completion in the game, establishing the longest reception in Patriots playoff history. Branch was the NFL’s leading receiver in the 2004 playoffs, pacing the league in receptions (16) and receiving yards (264). In addition to being named Super Bowl XXXIX MVP, he was selected as the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Week following the AFC Championship Game (1/23/05), when he led all receivers with 116 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown grab.

Lenz, 6-0, 194 pounds, joined the Colts practice squad on November 11, 2013. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Chicago on April 28, 2013 and was then signed to the Seattle practice squad on October 8. The Seahawks released Lenz on November 5. In 47 games (19 starts) at Iowa State, he totaled 96 catches for 1,213 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a senior with the Cyclones, he accounted for 430 yards and six touchdowns on 29 receptions.

Well not sure how much they would need white for insider info...they already have Collie for that. As for Branch I don't know if he will actually get to play but I don't see it as a bad signing. The guy has a ton of playoff experience and has played really well in the post season. Hopefully he has enough left in the tank for one final hurrah.

Lol, I'm used to people always doing that to us.

Might be a good veteran move. Give us a little push. Sure not going to hurt. Sucks that Toler and Moala could t play but hey, if you can't contribute need someone in there who can
