Freeney Ankle

They say Freeney has a sprained ankle. But that he is going to see a "specialist".

First, I hope it's just a sprain. But the specialist part has me worried.

Second. Anyone know if it's the same ankle or leg where the Liz frank accord?

As I understand it, the Lisfranc injury pertains to the mid-foot, so it shouldn't matter if this is an ankle...

Pagano said linebacker Dwight Freeneyicon-article-link.gif will have his sprained ankle observed by club doctors this week. No more information was available on Freeney. Should he be unable to play, the club will need to generate pressure on the passer with other players. In Freeney’s absence, linebacker Robert Mathisicon-article-link.gif had two sacks, his 20th multiple-sack career outing.

Pagano said offensive tackle Winston Justiceicon-article-link.gif did suffer a concussion at Chicago and will go through the proper medical protocol, as will wide receiver Austin Collieicon-article-link.gif for the concussion he suffered in preseason. Collie was inactive for the Chicago game. Guard Joe Reitzicon-article-link.gif missed the opener and may be absent one more week.- colts.com

Does anyone else find it odd that Freeney was not on the sideline in the second half? Could at least been a cheerleader.

Hard to say unless we know why he wasn't out there. Personally, a guy has a hard time moving, I wouldn't want him out on the sideline.

ah, maybe he can just hope in a hyperbaric chamber or walk it off. :HairOnFire:

The last time we had a player who was fond of using a hyperbaric chamber it was Anthony Gonzalez... and it didn't help him too much. I hope Freeney can recover quickly because we need him.

Really 5 plays all freeney your defending someone you like is all not someone who can play olb

haha I feel bad for you... have nothing else better to do than hate.. and id agree as soon as he left the defense went down hill..... football is the ultimate team sport you melvin... players can have an impact without putting up big numbers whether it be drawing the attention of the other team to free up others, clog lanes, take on/out the blocker to allow others to clean the play ... and i'd say in the "5 plays" he was on the field, whatever he was or wasn't doing was better than was hughes was doing, the whole game he played...and I bet he will be doing that all year.. Low numbers / stats but we will see a Night & Day difference from him on/off the field..

butttttt I wouldn't expect you to know anything, you're prob the guy who says "ah man he needs to make that play" "ah man I could have made that throw" "ah man if coach would have put me in fourth quarter, we'd be state champions" but probably have never played a down in your life, let alone been on any football team... you prob the dude with NO athleticism, but do your thing keep hating cry baby.. wahhhh wahhhhhh

    • Irsay surely wants colts fans to pack LOS…but at the end of the day all that really matters is butts in the seats…the only thing the financials need regardless of jersey color.   I do wish that the stadium was more Colts fans…but the product has been so poor these past number of years I’m sure many fans just want prefer to follow from home.
    • The 49ers are my favorite NFC team and I watch 80% of their games, and he’s a guy who can be good on the outside. Just don’t move him in as a nickel because he gets lost with regularity. Thats what got him on the outs in SF. They moved him inside and… eeeeeeeeh 😬.
    • yup, every time they trot gay out even on an extra point I just say well it’s a 50/50 parlay at this point. It sucks that if a game is on the line I am terrified if Gay is called upon for anything longer than 40-45 yards…and from closer I am still nervous at best. Terrible feeling. Kickers gotta make those points way more often than they miss from all reasonable distances. You know anything from 7-54 yards. Anything over 54 and I’m just going to say it’s a crapshoot for almost any kicker.
    • I think it’s not a major problem Bears fans travel well to start with and the short drive to Indy when they are excited about their team and Colts fans weren’t after an 0-2 start explains that one and again Steelers fans travel well probably better than any other fan base in the league.  You always notice them no matter where they are playing.  Once the Colts get back to playing teams like the Jags, Titans, Dolphins, and Bills it will be back to normal.
