Michael Pittman Jr game day vlog

I enjoy their vlogs, it's an interesting perspective of the NFL world. Big salaries and big fandom, but with these two it's very down to earth.

Today, Pittman Jr had an interview with the press where he explained why he's all about being a great blocking WR. @AWalkerColtswrote it up very nicely:

But one of the biggest lessons Pittman tried to pass along to his son as he grew up around the game was much of his production as a rusher wouldn't have been possible had it not been for teammates at wide receiver who were solid, willing blockers in the run game.

Now creating his own path as an NFL wide receiver, Pittman Jr. realizes just what his dad was telling him all along. He was a key piece last Sunday to fellow rookie Jonathan Taylor's first-career 100-yard rushing day, and will continue to be counted on in that area moving forward.

"When he talks about guys like Keyshawn Johnson, he talks very highly of him because he was a great blocking receiver," Pittman Jr. said about his dad. "The way that he talks about him, I want Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim (Hines), Marlon (Mack) to say those same things about me."

Gotta respect his love for being an important part of the game. The full article his here.

Cute couple.  I heard that house was Parris Cambell's old rent house.

Yes it was. I follow Paris fiancé on IG. When I seen Pittman’s house I was like that is Campbell’s old house. Looks like Paris and his fiancé bought their first home this past summer in Indy. . It is really pretty.  Pittman and his girlfriend have it decorated so nice. They did a house tour on the vlog before this.

All I'm saying is, many people didn't want players named AB, or Newton (base salary approx $1 million) because of "character concerns" yes or no?

All I'm saying is, it's not "Colt like" for this vlogging going on. Especially if the player hasn't shown anything on the field.

Excuses starting in 5-4-3-2-1.

Did you just compare AB behavior to Pittman making a Vlog?

How in ANY way is Pittman's YT channel a "character concern" or not "Colt-like"?

Him and his girlfriend have had their YouTube channel for years now and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't keep doing it. It was known when we drafted him that he had the YouTube channel and it wasn't a problem then. There's no doubt that Ballard is ok with it, because he wouldn't still be doing it if the organization took issue with it.

Also, have you even watched any of his videos?

Lol. Pittman has some of the best character I have seen. They are so done to earth. So easy to relate to them. He is also very funny. Seeing  him talking about stepping in dog poop and wanting her to smell his shoes had me laughing so hard.  The stuff on his youtube is so benign.

Michael and Kianna are really good kids, but I can understand a few people’s concern.  Our players are encouraged to engage in social media in college, with support and guidance from our SID with suggestions on how to navigate the media and how to interact with fans.  Believe e, they were monitored and advised.

By the time they leave, they’re very media savvy.  They have to be in a city like L.A.,

it’s important for the players to engage with the fans, and become good citizens of their new communities and contribute off the field as well.

I would imagine a number of fans don’t know enough about Michael yet, nor did they follow him in college.

Thanks. I still don't understand why a player vlogging would be a reason for concern.

It would be inaccurate to say that Pittman vlogging is the least of my worries, because it doesn't register as a worry in the slightest.

I agree. Not a worry of mine at all.  They only way I'd be concerned about it is if he was airing play calls or stuff that should be confidential.  otherwise, he's all good to go. plus his girl friend is very easy on the eyes haha

Excuses? So you're so close minded that you can't even allow that maybe, just maybe one of the "excuses" could actually be palatable. The "excuse" is really simple here. Their YouTube channel was up before being drafted. The Colts knew about it and still drafted him. 2+2=4, Colts are fine with their YouTube channel since they drafted him. Pretty easy stuff really.

He managed to get good grades in college, did extensive volunteer work in the community along with all his other student/athlete obligations.

I agree with you, character is not a concern, what we don’t know is how successful he’ll be at the NFL level. I do believe he’ll work his tail off to be successful.

Kianna is the perfect gf/wife for an athlete, both are level headed young people.  They really do have a nice love story.

I can't say anything that the others haven't already said except "is that a serious statement?"

Excuses starting in 5-4-3-2-1 is an obvious baiting-trolling comment.

Anyone else get the feeling that Pittman is about to explode? Especially with Campbell out for an extended period of time and especially against the paltry Jets?

I think he made a few great plays last game and that bobble catch has only got to have Rivers place more faith in him. I know he hasnt been targeted much yet, but has he dropped a single pass thrown his way yet? Has an incompletion gone his way yet?

I know our offense will spread it out, but i can just feel a big game coming for him.

I like watching M and K's youtube channel.  It gives us a rare look into a lot of things that interest me.  The transition from being a college star to an NFL rookie, moving from California to Indiana, what the girlfriend of an elite athlete is like, what an NFL athlete does in his free time, what does their house look like, etc.  I think it is pretty cool they are willing to share this with us, and as always, if it doesn't interest you, you are free to watch something else on Youtube.

Yes. He actually had more snaps then TY. As the season continues he will get even better chemistry with Rivers.

No I made a comparison of AB on field performance to Pittman on field performance. Which hasn't been much, although the rookie finds time to vlog.

If any other WR did this (Vlog) and didn't perform, everyone including you would call him out. So stop it.

Have you even watched. His girlfriend is usually the one with the camera in her hand and does all the editing. Nothing I seen in this video suggests he is taking time away from the game or field. One video a week isn’t much.

1. How did you just turn a thread about Pittman's vlog into a thread about how you were "right" about Cam?

2. Your though process on this is nothing short of absurd.

What I can extrapolate from your ramblings is that teams won't tolerate AB's off-field issues despite his on-field performance, so why should the Colts tolerate Pittman having a YouTube channel with his girlfriend when he hasn't proven the same on-field prowess? That makes absolutely no sense.

One is being a locker room cancer and the other is giving fans a glimpse into the life of a NFL rookie. How are they in any way comparable?

Is your issue that instead of filming the videos for his YT channel, he should be working on his craft? Somehow filming 10-15 minutes of his day once or twice a week is detrimental to his on-field performance? Besides a whataboutism, please provide an actual reason you have a problem with Pittman's YouTube channel.

I saw the video already.  I have a question though.  Why is Pittman and the team going to a hotel for a home game?

It might be part of the team's procedure for isolating players prior to the game to try to prevent any pre-game Covid exposure.

    • I think I need to clarify something…,  I’m NOT suggesting Irsay isn’t filthy rich.  That the Colts aren’t sound financially.     All I’m saying is that from time to time the Colts might have cash flow problems.  Life as a small market team.   Nothing wrong with that.  The Colts do this (The “0” singing bonus) for a reason.  It benefits them.  And I think it’s smart business.   That’s all.
    • I don't believe any of this post-hoc spin. He took less to play home. And even if we did believe it - OK... he did take less. What about the 100 other FAs we could have gotten?      This is exactly it... it feels like Ballard is not proactive... he's grabbing to the status quo and holding onto it for dear life. Like the status quo has actually given us anything to brag about? The Texans let go of one of their best defensive linemen... to replace him with a better one. The Chiefs let go of one of their best receivers... to replace him a better one... Those are teams that are not happy with what they had(and they were better than us) and tried to actually improve. Could that backfire? Sure. But at least they are trying to compete. What are we trying for?    I wasn't the biggest fan of the idea of giving record setting contract to Sneed while also giving up significant draft compensation too. IMO you should only do that for elite players and as good as Sneed is IMO he's not quite at that level. But with that said -yes, there aren't many high level FAs remaining on the market. Because while other teams were busy chasing the high level FAs, Ballard was busy giving 14M contract to a backup nose tackle and resigning his PED implicated 31 year old starting nose tackle 40M contract.  I wouldn't hold my breath quite honestly. With the OL there was precedent of them being great previously. With this DL there really hasn't been. We've been at the bottom of the league in creating pressures and affecting the QB for years. And the personnel will be the same more or less. A lot of people putting a lot of hope into the new DL coach. I liked that hire too, but you have to give the guy something to work with and apart from Buckner the rest of the group has never been more than... solid, and in a lot of cases much less than solid.    Yep... it always comes back to this... hoping our draft picks will pan out. The problem with that of course is that over the long term most teams in the league have about the same success rate in the draft. And while other teams use all avenues to improve their team(draft, trades, FA), it seems like Ballard has resigned himself to the draft. He will draft and live or die by it. He's just too stuck in his ways and too stubborn to make any significant changes to his approach.  That's the problem with Ballard. It's never exactly doom and gloom. I am never worried with him that this team will be horrible and hopeless. I worry that it will be mediocre... forever! Which it has been. He gives you just enough hope for your to think "maybe this year... maybe this guy will get better... maybe this draft pick will pan out", but in reality we are just treading water.    Yeah, Sneed could have been good for this defense... oh well...
    • He turned out to be very good, but at the time of the pick, I thought we could have selected other players, as we were in desperate need of defensive players. But Addison played very well, better than I expected.
    • You don’t like Jordan Addison?   I thought he had a very nice rookie season for the Vikings?
    • Before Werner Houston took Dwayne Hopkins and after Werner Minn took Rhodes.   Werner was the turd between two very good players, one a potential Hall of Famer.
