They get paid to play or to sit. They get paid to do what their coaches/gms want them to do. And the coaches and management get paid to evaluate risk/reward and make appropriate decisions. In what world does the risk-reward calculation end on the side of playing them in those last two games? You are not improving your chances of a superbowl here. You are diminishing them.

Leonard already talked about how scary his concussion was and there were times he didn't know if he will be able to play again. Now it seems like he has another concussion. That's 2 this year. and one of them at least was pretty bad. At 4-5 concussions players nowadays start thinking about retiring. So again... how did risk-reward calculation worked out today?

Nelson concussion, Leonard concussion, second of the season, Khari injured... Why? What do we win here?

Well let’s just cancel the last game altogether since neither team has anything to play for. I’m sure the fans who have paid for the “whole” season tickets won’t mind. C’mon man, it’s rough sports, it’s entertainment as well.

Seems like Leonard cleared protocol. That's good. Hopefully he doesn't develop symptoms after the game. He didn't show symptoms during the game he got his last concussion too.

Still, IMO there is close to zero value playing our best players in those meaningless games.

Exactly. Symptoms pop up all the time after games.

I don't think teams can simply sit all of their important players 14 games into a season.  They can do that in preseason, and maybe the last game of the season, but doing so this early compromises the integrity of the NFL.

The way some act, we need to just shake hands at the start and concede the game. Don’t want to risk injury for next season. Probably same people who won’t let their kids grow up and explore and fail at things. No skinned knees on learning to ride a bike. Helmets for the kids walking on sidewalks. You know.

Playing/starting them is fine. I’d rather they play it super safe when they do get hurt though. Especially since concussion symptoms can pop up after the game, like they did with Leonard last time.

    • Your Indianapolis Colts travel to Green Bay to play the Packers who will be without their starting QB. Both teams will be vying for their first win of this young season.     Indy's first game created a lot of optimism, especially on offense.     Today, fans are hoping for improved play on defense and the Colts' first win of the year. So, who is on the injury list?   Final Injury Report (as of Friday)   Packers have listed the following players as Questionable QB Jordan Love (knee) -- **downgraded to doubtful on Saturday, will not play RB MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) WR Jayden Reed (calf, shin)   Colts     What are your thoughts on this game? All in-game discussion takes place here, not in the Colts section.   Good Luck! Enjoy the game.
    • sproles destroyed that defense. Never did play well against them and it’s a good thing the patriots beat them in 06
    • One of the reasons people were so down on AP is because of his drops. He didn’t get thrown to much but when he did it seemed he would drop them.    I wasn’t one who was down on AP, but that was a big reason for him being a whipping boy.     when you only get thrown to twice a game and you drop one of them you tend to get looked down on.
    • I know....the point was they made the playoffs and went on a run despite a horrific run D in the regular season. Peyton carried them through the regular season and the D carried them through the playoffs. (Peyton was terrible in the playoffs) It was 300 plus
    • The car salesman's record in Denver is 64-99 without Peyton as his qb and 50-14 with Peyton as his qb. 8 losing seasons, 5 winning seasons and one at .500. That record without Peyton really jumps out at you does't it??(hahahaha) Ballard conversely has had 4 winning seasons and 3 losing seasons thus far. All being done with subpar qb play other than 2018 and 2020 with Luck and Rivers. Ballard took his qb in 2023, so now we will see how he does. If Richardson hits it big(and I think he will) we will dominate. BUT still have to outscore everyone like Manning and Luck did because we won't play any defense just like the past 52 years.
