Woody Paige of the denver post reports that one of the leverage points the Bronco's are pushing is they have lots of cap room and would be willing to bring in Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Jeff Saturday and Joseph Addai, and perhaps even Pierre Garcon.

Looks like the Colts are heading west.

Is the Broncos where Stokley plays? That would be good Stokley and Clark.

Maybe we'd actually find out what woulda been if the Colts had a good defense over the last several years?

I guess Broncos are literally the correct term for mature Colts?

I was thinking "Dolphins" like a lot of other people, and I only heard one public figure even mentioning Denver as a "dark horse" up until the visit was announced, but the more I think about this the more sense it makes. Miami has an * for an owner and a rookie coach (amongst other issues). Denver actually makes more sense. My only concern was the weather, but I heard a radio interview with Kravitz today (who used to live there) in which he laughed that off. I guess that Denvers location in the mountains shields it from a lot of things. It can get some snow, but in general the weather is a lot more mild than you would think - particularly when compared to competitors life KC and Seattle. I also resent Elway for obvious reasons, but to Peyton he is apparently a positive - and I can certainly accept that. Everything considered, an 8-8 team despite the worst excuse for a QB in football, young and improving in many areas, cap room, a coach and GM who Peyton respects and whom are willing to spend money in ways that specifically benefit Peyton (including bringing other Colts in!), while allowing him freedom on offense, and a weak division which is clearly up for grabs - sounds pretty darn good. Plus personally the 4pm starts will make it possible to watch the Colts and Peyton without finding out the score of the other game.

I'm warming to this a lot. I always liked the Broncos before Elway got there, and ironically I've been following the Nuggets ever since my favorite basketball team sent most of my favorite players over there. Aside from dealing with the media portrayal of Denver possibly "stealing and succeeding with" ANOTHER Colts QB, under the direction of the FIRST QB they grabbed, it sounds about perfect. It may not be the "horse-shoe", but it's the rest of the beast, and more.

These guys have all been working out with peyton and have a better idea about the arm than we do. No one seems to be shying away from making it happen. Wayne is outwardly hoping for it.

I think Wayne is the mouth of the group. He isn't afraid to say what they all feel.

Really, because they were all together for the last 9 years and the Colts only won one SB. How scary can that be?

We had a top 5 offense for the whole decade? How isn't that scary. We just never had a defense except once, 2007, our playoff run and the following regular season. Too bad they fell off in the playoffs.

The Bronco's have IMO has the best slot reciever in the NFL. No not Stokley, but Erick Decker. I watched him at the U of M for years and he has had no QB and has become a beast for denver. I followed him closely in the draft and was disapointed how far he dropped. Peyton to Decker was the combo I have dreamed of, shame it would not be in a Colts uni.

I have a good friend out in Denver, she said something similar to me yesterday, something to the effect

"What does a Colt want to be when it grows up ~~ A Bronco" :slaphead:

Nananananah!

No way Broncos, Peyton went there first to get it out of the way and to make his eventual target, the Dolphins, sweat it. Yes Miami has the new coach but it also has a stadium near his and Reggies homes.

They get out the overcoats when the temp hits 50 degrees and when was the last time they had a "snow day" in Miami??

He's playing hard to get, he's going to Miami.

Miami & Arizona don't have the cap room that Denver, KC ,Tennessee and Seattle have to bring Peyton Manning & The Castaways in. He might end up in either place but it will take more work to fit 18, 87 & 44 and/or others in at Mia/Ari.

Very true but it doesn't have to be a package deal, it would just be very sweet if it was.

I don't know any more than anyone else I just don't see Denver and outdoors.

I'm warming to the idea of Peyton playing in Denver...

Tebow's a backup and I thiught his play waas embarassing...

...The sight of Peyton walking though the Bronocs complex with John Elway did something for me..

I loved Elway when he played and if Manning could get him back to the title game next season...I wouldnt feel so bad

I think they are still quality players..we ddint cut them because they couldnt play.

We cut their contracts..going forward into 2013 and 2014...

Saturday had a good season...Wayne and Garcon played every games..and I still have faith in oft-injured Dallas C.

They dont need Joe Addai but if they bring in 5 Colts..they dont have to explain what Manning is doing...

    • How bout this? Draft better and u build a play off caliber team. Ain't rocket science.
    • Look im not gonna say Ballard haven't had his own issues, but the guy has been put in an impossible position particularly every year.   2017 - He has a lame duck for a head coach when we all knew was gonna get fired and was drafting for his scheme so I'll give him a pass.   2018 - Arguably his best draft getting two All-pros and a stalwart at RT. He gets to sign his choice of a head coach and is left at the alter at the 11th hour which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise. Drafted Tyquan Lewis, Hines, and Franklin who all have or had great years here. Andrew Luck was back and playing like an MVP.   2019 - Horrible draft. No excuses. It was his worst draft as a GM, but he did find a gem in Speed. Luck retiring a week before the season starts would put any GM in a tough spot so once again I'll give him a pass.   2020 - His second best draft getting Pittman, Taylor, and Blackmon. Signed Rivers and traded for Buckner and won 11 games. Unfortunately lost to the Bills in the playoffs.   2021 - I honestly can't tell for certain what happened in terms of QB. Ive heard Rivers was supposed to re-sign, but choice to retire. I've heard he was pushed to retirement as the colts wanted to go in a different direction which was apparently Stafford before the Rams came in last second. I heard Reich pushed hard for Wentz saying he can fix him against the wishes of Ballard. If you ask me, I think Stafford was plan A as Stafford himself said him and his wife were so convinced he was going to Indy that they started looking at homes. When that fell through, imo Reich lobbied for Wentz. Whatever it was, Wentz was the guy and the QB carousal was supposedly stopped at least we thought. A god-like season for Taylor was not enough to save Wentz from ultimately being traded and you can chalk that one on whomever Reich or Ballard depending on what story you want to believe. In terms of the draft, Paye and Dayo have been reliable players on the dline, Granson you can make an argument is our best TE, and Fries came into his own last year.   2022 - Just an overall disaster of a season. Went the bandage route again at QB trading for Matt Ryan and you can say the colts did him no favors in terms of oline protection and JT getting hurt, but that was a failed trade for a miserable season. 2022 draft is still under elevation, but Pierce and Woods did show potential as rookies and Raimann looks to be the LT of the future.   2023 - Ballard finally gets to draft a QB to tether him to and Richardson plays a grand total of 12 quarters. It just seems like Ballard can not catch a break when it comes to QBs, but from I've seen from Richardson, I have very high expectations.
    • Hi Colts fans,   Yeah, I know, I know.  I was just as surprised as you were.  No clue why my good friend Jim Irsay would call me up and offer me the head coaching job.  I had to remind him.  Dude, I said, you do know that I've never coached at all at the NFL level.  Not coordinator.  Not even position coach.  Nothing.  It didn't seem to matter.  It was as if all that was required was for me to be good friends with the owner, and -- bazinga! -- I could be a head coach.   It was awkward, you know.  That first coaches meeting.  There was Gus Bradley.  And there was John Fox.  Both of them had been head coaches.  Heck, both of them had coached in a Super Bowl!  Yet here I was, promoted to be their boss, having never coached before.  Ever.   But, you know, Bud Grant did it.  So, why not?  Remember, I have a way of doing things.   Ok, sorry, I couldn't help but giggle.  I have a way of doing... what, exactly?  Things?  Things like coaching?  I have a way of coaching?  And how did I develop that way?  By actually, you know, coaching?   Anyway, I'm glad you have a new head coach.  One who has actually coached before.  And his experience doing that is bearing fruit.  I'm just glad I'm already in the Ring of Honor.  Because after what happened, I doubt that I would ever be accepted in by the fans, regardless of how I was as a player.  Heck, they would have put Andrew Luck in before they would even consider me.   In the meantime, I'm back at ESPN, attempting to "un-burn" bridges.  It can happen.  I heard Bud Grant did that once....   Regards, Jeff Saturday
    • We certainly have options as both DB draftees started at FS as well as CB in college. Perhaps Thomas ‘could’ revert back to CB as well?
    • Here's to hoping Colts hit the jackpot and everyone looks back saying wow he was definitely the best wr in that draft...
