Our Schedule

To begin the season everyone was saying we have the easiest schedule..... Doesn't look that way now, Hope they start giving respect where respect is due.... Rather in saying they play in a weak division.... Go Colts!!! We still have to Play Cincy, Dallas, Pitt, New england, Giants.... Even the Browns have looked decent

Yup. Cincy is hard, Houston is hard, Dallas is gonna be very hard unless Romo lives up to expectations and sucks in december, and then we have a revitalized patriots team.

Who have 2 good TE's that'll do damage to our defense that struggles with TE's

And Wright runs like a WR...... No way our LB's are covering him

He's starting to look like what Aaron Hernandez should've been when paired with the Gronkster

The schedule started top heavy, that was the problem. Denver and Philly can score. And besides, I still think the Philly game was taken from the Colts but I won't get too into that now. Whats done is done.

I also feel we tend to be slower starters under Luck since his rookie season too.

The Colts will be fine this year and will win a lot of games.

According to playoffstatus.com the Colts have played the 5th hardest schedule in the afc and the 9th hardest in the league. They have the 6th hardest remaining schedule in the afc and the 17th hardest in the league. That's based on this year's records.

If Murray stays healthy, Dallas will be hard to beat.

Hopefully in December the game comes down to Chokmo and throwing the ball.

Agreed if they keep running murray 30 times a game like they have i dont see Murray being very effective or healthy come december and if that happens we will see some tony ohno

Cause Jags, Tenn, & Houston are in our div.

Okay, but we compensate for that by playing the Eagles, Broncos, Patriots, Ravens, Bengals, Cowboys, Browns, and the Steelers. That is not easy. Granted the Browns are a bit of a surprise, but even if you take that away, that is crazy tough.

That may be but playing Houston & Jag twice a year sques the strength of schedule since the two teams had bad seasons last year...

Simple math...

NFC east wasnt good last year either, or Browns, & Steelers, & Ravens were middle of the pack, so again it is what it is...

  • 2 weeks later...

I never thought this was an easy schedule. I have no idea why it was ever considered the easiest.

Strength of schedule is determined by last year's records, which based off of that, the Colts did indeed have the easiest. But many of our opponents have significantly improved since last year. So now, I'd say it's amongst one of the toughest.

This system remains one of the dumbest systems for determining any year's strength of schedule. While it is impossible to predict how teams will perform after all of the changes that are made each off season.  The press should just not say anything about a new year until the season starts to unfold.

I understand that, but applying logic to our schedule I never thought it was easy.

    • Denver is a huge market actually.  It covers the entire country west of KC, HOU, and DAL except the coast and provides many more opportunities for exposure than Indy.  I don't think Irsay cutting Peyton would have anything to do it.  I think Peyton teases that stuff sometimes just for a little attention.
    • You gotta give AR at least two full seasons, to see if he can develop his game.
    • agreed... IF the offense put together long drives, the D wouldnt be on the field so much, gassed the whole time... We have had the ball 40min on offense this season in 2 games combined... our D has been on the field 80 minutes in 2 games combined...  a big part is our QB but our coach's play calling isnt helping anyone, either.   he needs to give Richardson some layups to start the game, lean on Taylor more (hasnt had 20 carries in a game yet).... If Richardson proves he cannot hit the layups, then he wont last long in the NFL...you cant rely on 60 yard passes every game and hope to be any good as a team or player.
    • That's usually the best thing. Just pay attention to the people in charge and dismiss outside critiques without hearing them or seeing their evidence.
    • If you can't draft one, then sign a FA that is a good TE. Even Zach Ertz resigned this year. The guy is ancient and knows the Philly system.
