I thought this was interesting...

We will struggle against Seattle, who IMO, is the best team on the left coast.  The 49er game can go either way, depending on how well our O line and Outside LB's play.  I don't see the Rams being that close a game.  The Rams lost Stephen Jackson who will make Atlanta a lot better than Turner did.

I think it's insane. There's a lot of easy games on there, but some brutal ones as well.

Predicting as exact number is pointless, but I think that they could be anywhere from 13-3 if they get incredibly lucky, to 8-8 if they fall back to reality a little bit. Who knows.

I think we lose to Broncos and Seattle: 12 - 4. Houston has the following games: HOME Indianapolis Colts*, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos*, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots*, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks* AWAY: Indianapolis Colts*, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens*, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers*. I see them losing to Broncos, Patriots, Seahawks, Ravens, 49ers and us once. They go 10 - 6. We win the division. :td:

The left coast? :funny: That's hilarious

I think 14-2 is too optimistic.  Of course, it is almost impossible to predict, but I don't think we beat the Broncos or Seahawks.  I think 10-12 wins is more realistic.  Again, it depends on what happens in the draft and the rest of free agency too.  I want to see how the defense does in their 2nd year in a 3-4

The 49ers are better than the Seahawks and also have 12 picks in the draft if I'm not mistaken. The Rams should also be competitive in that division this year, they have stepped up on defense.

IMO  we  lose to Denver in a close one - lose to the 49ers -  lose to Seattle -  we lose 1 game to the Texans - maybe lose 1 to either the Bengals or Rams Jeff Fisher has always given the Colts problems as a Titans coach  . And finish 11-5  winning the AFC South . Last year I felt 8-8 was possible . The Blue Monster is taking shape here in Indy & its gonna take back the AFC South with a vengeance .

5-1 in division play this year. The Jags are not getting lucky again. Already swept the Titans so they're no concern. I would say 6-0 but I'm sure the Texans wouldn't let us sweep them. At least I hope they wouldn't cause then we'd really be taking the south back which is so rightfully ours

I know it's Bleacher Report but I don't want any overhyping or crazy high expectations. Even with Peyton 14 wins was tough to reach, with a few exceptions of course. Is it possible? Sure. It's just a lot to ask of a team that is still young and finding its identity. I'm looking for 11 again

I'd put the over/under at 9.5 wins right now. I think 14 wins is an outrageous prediction.

It's weird because last year's success was so anti-typical for a young team. No one would have expected us to have such a good record in close games, even against bad and mediocre teams. Usually a team with the limitations we had -- young starters all over the place, a rookie head coach, an interim head coach, and a makeshift defense -- doesn't win close games, period. Much less rack up come from behind victories like we did. The only comeback I remember from last season that was more impressive than our Lions and Packers comebacks was the Broncos coming back on the Chargers, and that's one of the best quarterbacks of all time on a veteran team. I think it's safe to say that emotion triggered a lot of our success, and that makes it hard to project what kind of success we'll have in the future.

In my mind, we were a year or two ahead of schedule last season, winning 11 games and making the playoffs. It's not unheard of, but it is rare. So, from this point forward, do we keep building on the foundation we built last year, or do we have to wait while we fill in some of the holes? If we have a more complete roster this year, but less magic, isn't that good enough for us to have another 10+ win season and compete for a playoff spot? I don't think it's a reasonable assumption to say that having a better and more complete team is going to translate into winning more games. We won a lot of games last season that we had no business winning.

We have a new offense installed. Defense has added players. Going to be a tricky season because no game is a guaranteed win. Doesn't matter who we play. Can't predict how many we win until a see final roster. I was right about how many games we'd win based off of that last year. Go and check my post stats lol

Anyone ever see "Big Fan"? It's about this nerdy guy played by Patton Oswald who is obsessed with the NY Giants. He gets beat up by one of the Giant players, but refuses to press charges. Even then, the Giants can do no wrong. It's a pretty sad depiction of a fan who doesn't let reality get in the way of his obsession.

I think he may have written that article.

Last year i predicted we would go 10-6 and we went 11-5. This year i think will go 11-5 with losses to Broncos,49ers,Bengals,Texans, and Titans

I agree with this, and maybe your prediction will work out similarly and we sneak one of those to got 12-4.  We're used to that scenario.  :D

14-2 would be great but prolly not realistic unless we are injury  free and the sun moon and stars align just right. 11-5 i believe cuz u always have 2 stupid losses in a season usually, but i think we only loss 1 in division and that to the texans in houston, jax, tenn will still suck like always! lose to seattle,sf,denver, houston and 1 stupid loss to someone, the denver game will go either way-mayb win that one.

    • Personally I think Thomas got pressed into playing before his time. He did a few things we didn't expect initially considering his draft position. I think ideally they wanted to take their time and train him up sorta like EJ Speed then get him out there.  I'm interested to see how he regroups to be honest.
    • How bout this? Draft better and u build a play off caliber team. Ain't rocket science.
    • Look im not gonna say Ballard haven't had his own issues, but the guy has been put in an impossible position particularly every year.   2017 - He has a lame duck for a head coach when we all knew was gonna get fired and was drafting for his scheme so I'll give him a pass.   2018 - Arguably his best draft getting two All-pros and a stalwart at RT. He gets to sign his choice of a head coach and is left at the alter at the 11th hour which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise. Drafted Tyquan Lewis, Hines, and Franklin who all have or had great years here. Andrew Luck was back and playing like an MVP.   2019 - Horrible draft. No excuses. It was his worst draft as a GM, but he did find a gem in Speed. Luck retiring a week before the season starts would put any GM in a tough spot so once again I'll give him a pass.   2020 - His second best draft getting Pittman, Taylor, and Blackmon. Signed Rivers and traded for Buckner and won 11 games. Unfortunately lost to the Bills in the playoffs.   2021 - I honestly can't tell for certain what happened in terms of QB. Ive heard Rivers was supposed to re-sign, but choice to retire. I've heard he was pushed to retirement as the colts wanted to go in a different direction which was apparently Stafford before the Rams came in last second. I heard Reich pushed hard for Wentz saying he can fix him against the wishes of Ballard. If you ask me, I think Stafford was plan A as Stafford himself said him and his wife were so convinced he was going to Indy that they started looking at homes. When that fell through, imo Reich lobbied for Wentz. Whatever it was, Wentz was the guy and the QB carousal was supposedly stopped at least we thought. A god-like season for Taylor was not enough to save Wentz from ultimately being traded and you can chalk that one on whomever Reich or Ballard depending on what story you want to believe. In terms of the draft, Paye and Dayo have been reliable players on the dline, Granson you can make an argument is our best TE, and Fries came into his own last year.   2022 - Just an overall disaster of a season. Went the bandage route again at QB trading for Matt Ryan and you can say the colts did him no favors in terms of oline protection and JT getting hurt, but that was a failed trade for a miserable season. 2022 draft is still under elevation, but Pierce and Woods did show potential as rookies and Raimann looks to be the LT of the future.   2023 - Ballard finally gets to draft a QB to tether him to and Richardson plays a grand total of 12 quarters. It just seems like Ballard can not catch a break when it comes to QBs, but from I've seen from Richardson, I have very high expectations.
    • Hi Colts fans,   Yeah, I know, I know.  I was just as surprised as you were.  No clue why my good friend Jim Irsay would call me up and offer me the head coaching job.  I had to remind him.  Dude, I said, you do know that I've never coached at all at the NFL level.  Not coordinator.  Not even position coach.  Nothing.  It didn't seem to matter.  It was as if all that was required was for me to be good friends with the owner, and -- bazinga! -- I could be a head coach.   It was awkward, you know.  That first coaches meeting.  There was Gus Bradley.  And there was John Fox.  Both of them had been head coaches.  Heck, both of them had coached in a Super Bowl!  Yet here I was, promoted to be their boss, having never coached before.  Ever.   But, you know, Bud Grant did it.  So, why not?  Remember, I have a way of doing things.   Ok, sorry, I couldn't help but giggle.  I have a way of doing... what, exactly?  Things?  Things like coaching?  I have a way of coaching?  And how did I develop that way?  By actually, you know, coaching?   Anyway, I'm glad you have a new head coach.  One who has actually coached before.  And his experience doing that is bearing fruit.  I'm just glad I'm already in the Ring of Honor.  Because after what happened, I doubt that I would ever be accepted in by the fans, regardless of how I was as a player.  Heck, they would have put Andrew Luck in before they would even consider me.   In the meantime, I'm back at ESPN, attempting to "un-burn" bridges.  It can happen.  I heard Bud Grant did that once....   Regards, Jeff Saturday
    • We certainly have options as both DB draftees started at FS as well as CB in college. Perhaps Thomas ‘could’ revert back to CB as well?
