Training Camp Thread 7/28

I believe so as it appears he was only active for 5 games last year. He would however be a prime candidate for another team to sign him to their active roster. So I think the answer is "yes" but that likely (IMO) would result in the Colts losing him .

I don't think Rogers is eligible for the practice squad.  He made it onto the field in 5 regular season games, but I think he was on the active roster for several other games.  He was also active for our two playoff games, which I belief are also counted for PS eligibility considerations.

wth!

First of all . . . after 1 practice?  Bad luck

Secondly. . . Holy crap. . . Are these practices without pads or with pads?

Also I'm getting the feeling that AIRBHG has moved to Indianapolis.  http://www.airbhg.com/history/

He would be PS eligible but with all the teams in need of receivers I just think someone would pick him up off waivers.

Disappointed that he isn't further along at this point.

The thing that is most frustrating is that it is the same old stuff it has always been rounding off routes, not giving maximum effort. It kind of feels like he doesn't want to or does think he needs to put in the work. We will see the team is not short on WR's. Moncrief falling to us changes our whole dynamic at that position.

Does anyone know why they didnt do the free minicamp at lucas oil stadium this year?! that was a lot of fun for my kids we were really looking forward to it this year...

I think they did it to try selling season tickets after Manning left.  I went last year and was told that the year before they had tons of seats available in the upper deck.  I remember they had papers on the seats that u could take to the ticket office to order season tickets.  Pretty sure they don't need to do anything out of the ordinary to sell them now so they didn't do the public mini camp.

Apparently there were scheduling conflicts @ The Oil Can

yep i remember that now too :( that sucks we were really looking forward to trying to get more autographs this year. we were a few people away from Luck when they sounded the bell to stop the autographs.. we had a good plan of where to be this year... oh well though. maybe some other time. ive been to anderson for TC a few times but im not sure how the autograph signing works there?

Is Toler or Landry or Chapman playing? If not, who's in their spots?

Toler was playing, and playing well! He had had to cover #1 most of camp and has impressed.. Landry did not practice. Howell and Brown are safeties

Im telling you Trent being out of camp so far is nonsense. I want him to excel so badly but after all year and an offseason saying he needs to get comfortable with offense, this little hammy injury is crap. This guy seriously has major bust written all over him if something doesn't change soon. Im really worried about this at this point

Look on the bright side, if he busts out, there's one less contract to renew with the 2012 draft class ;)

After the signing of Nicks and the drafting of Moncrief you would think that he would be aware that he's on the roster bubble and put in more effort.

Good news is TRich wanted to play, but Chuck said no, let's take our time, rest up till you are 100%.

Only 5th day of TC, makes perfect sense. We need him in December, not July.

I like that we are resting him... Just the fact that he needs the reps is the only problem I have with it... Hopefully pre season will help him a lot

It boggles my mind how players on the fringe would do ANYTHING that would hurt their chances of making the team.

Even if he knew he didn't have a chance to make our team, you'd think he'd want to use the preseason as an audition.  And if you really give it your all, the coaches will notice and may pass your name to his friends on other teams.

weirder that he had a path to make the team with Ballard injured, but honestly there is something I don't like about the guy any way, and it gives Tipton more of a chance.

we haven't had much luck with buckeyes in the paat

Its cool the guy runs hard I root for him too, but there is something I like about Tipton. Might keep both?

Tom Matte!  How soon they forget.

With Bradshaw and TRich's injury histories, I won't be surprised if they stock up RBs on the PS.  But probably only carry 3 on the active roster.

then I believe Bernard Pollard cheap shotted him and that was that for AG

That's not what happened with AG. His knee buckled in Week 1 in 2009, with no contact, right off the line. He never played any meaningful snaps for us after that.

maybe I'm thinking of a different AG

if its Anthony Gonzalez, then I remember Pollard cheap shotting him then being out for a while then the unfortunate luck with injuries after that

I forgot about that. It was after the first knee injury. But he only had 5 catches to that point in that season. I think he was already pretty much done.

Either way, my point was that I'll take one decent year out of Herron, even if that's all we ever get.
