I find myself agreeing with you a lot! Definitely agree here. I mentioned in the past that In this defensive scheme, DE and FS are probably the most important positions. The DEs (and DL) apply pressure without blitzing and the FS keeps you from getting beat deep. we now have our DEs, we need to get our FS. I would LOVE for Ballard to get Simmons. 2 or 3 year contract and I’m set. -
Makes sense looking at the roster. There is 3 needs. 1. Vet CB to compete for top 4 spot 2. Vet FS to compete with our young guys for spot 3. Vet RB to complete the room I imagine Ballard.and everyone has sit.and looked at the roster and gone over what's still needed and best way to approach it. I think FS and CB should probably be sooner than later. RB can wait closer to camp, but if eyeing someone specific now, might want to go ahead and make the move. I also posted earlier, about the possibility of Tanner Pennix, UDFA utility tool, might be able to pull off #3 RB/FB/TE role?

Agreed, all these characteristics during the draft are good to have, he maintains the balance well on trading back and getting the players on his board. He did try few options on elite players in free agency, so we start to see him being active in free agency (whether that resulted in bringing talents from other teams isn't entirely in his hands sometimes). Perhaps he'll do that more if Richardson grows into his role very well and when the team is primed to splurge on Elite talents to jump from being a good team to being a dangerous team, which currently Colts are not - that's fine pending knowing what we have in AR. -

I feel great about this team right now. Signing a FS in the next couple of days would really fill a big hole and anchor the secondary. Here’s hoping.
