The forecast is calling for rain Thursday and nothing Friday or Saturday. Then chance of showers Sunday. I can't field conditions being that bad if these forecast hold up.

It looks like the rain will be after the game more towards midnight which would be Monday. Can’t worry about the weather. They just have to go out and play. If they make the playoffs they could be playing in a lot worse conditions. Luckily this year has been pretty mild across the country.

I don't think anyone is doing that.   We are just stating that we feel a rain-soaked muddy field is to the Titans advantage since they rely on a power run game more than the Colts do.   I think a higher scoring game is to the advantage of the Colts.   Rainy games are lower scoring.

My response was to specific post about turf vs grass, not a muddy field.  That why I quoted him.

 

and I'm not convinced it gives them an advantage. They rely on the running game more because they have to....their quarterbacks are mediocre.  If conditions are poor the colts can utilize the run game and dink and dunk and they should be fine.

Probably.   I think the Colts would still be the favorites.    But it is a fact that rainy games are lower scoring.   I think the Colts have an advantage in a higher scoring game because they have the better QB.   Rain would even the playing field a little bit.

They should be fine if the weather is crappy or lose on purpose to miss the playoffs because odds are we're going to have to go to places like ne, KC, balt in January etc if we want a SB.

I don’t think bad weather will benefit either team. If they play Mariota, he’s going to have numb fingers and he’ll have to handle a slippery ball. And handing it off to Henry 50 times a game is going to play right into our strengths as a defense.

The hour by hour forecast that I have seen is rain after midnight. Which is actually Monday. We will see as the game gets closer. We just have to be ready to play.

As someone else said here it isn't going to rain just on the Colts' side of the field.  They may have a decent RB, but the Colts have been decent at stopping it.  Barkley and Elliott didn't hurt them much the last couple of weeks.  I don't think Henry is any better.  And I'd take the Colts' passing game all day over the Titans.  Both defenses have been playing well.  Should be a good matchup regardless of weather.

I think Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are lousy bad weather qbs. Andrew's ball looks a lot more feathery outside. I don't see the same zip as when he's playing in the dome. I hope I'm wrong.

Wasn't that the same thing said when the Colts played in rain during the super bowl?

The weather favors the Bears because they are an outdoor team.

I think too much is put into the weather. Both teams have to play on the same field at the same time.

EVERY QB throws a better looking pass in a dome where there is no wind to affect it.  By your logic Brady and all the rest are amazing dome QBs as well, especially Rodgers and his numerous Hail Mary throws in domes...

 

What difference does it make if a QB is "used" to playing outside in the winter?  Would that have helped any QB in that snow-game last year in Buffalo?  No.  No QB was going to throw pretty passes for 400 yds and 4 TDs in a foot of snow and 15 mph winds...

Like I said, we have to stay balanced on O, play good D and stay patient on O. The rain might make it low scoring at best.

Personally I would rather play with perfect conditions. We are the better team and should win. This kind of levels the playing field.  Looks like the entire game might be rainy.
