Adding wilfork and shorts. Kind of mad we didnt approach wilfork. Who seriously considers the texans at any point in their career honestly?

Im pretty sure wilfork and texas bbq has a lot to do with the signing...

well for one thing the texans have a few former pats coaching for them and he has two rings so he really doesnt need to be on a championship team

I think it makes a lot of sense, assuming he cares about chemistry and money over winning. The Texans have former Patriots personnel in Bill O'Brien and Mike Vrabel. It also might be fun to work with JJ Watt, arguably the best defender in the NFL. JJ can rush the outside while Wilfork plugs up the interior gaps.

Did YOU notice the contract Vince got from the Panicin Texans?    4-5 m per?   for a 34 year old 340lb NT?

I'll stick with Josh.

The Texans have NO QB...       JOB is like most every other coach in the NFL they think they invented the game.

NO QB = no dice......          Bet the genius wishes he'd went after Teddy B right about now...

Hoyer is much better than people are giving him credit for. Houston is not that far behind. They realistically could be a 9 or 10 win team or better. They need players to stay healthy.

Desperately. One or two key injuries again and I'll be very worried.

Why do people post on here to trash division rivals just for the sake of trashing them?  Houston has a pretty solid team.  Cecil Shorts and Vince Wilfork are both good pickups.  Their defense isn't what it was under Wade Philips, but they have some talented pieces, including the guy many consider the best player in the game.

Houston is a non factor. People have to grasp the reality of our division being horrible, we swept them TWO years in a row. This is even easier then the old Peyton AFC South days.

Worry more about the team Wilfork used to be on instead.

They don't want to mention they picked up 2 games in the standings by playing the last place schedule while we played the first place schedule.  If you go by the 14 games we played against ourselves and the same opponents , we win the division by a huge margin.  Four games to be exact.

You realize you had to injure both of our QBs last year in the same game to win the division, right?

We don't know if Houston wins without the QB injuries. They very well could have as they played a great game defensively .

We do know that all Indy had to do was win that game or the game at home vs Tenn two weeks later to win the division. So , while there is nothing that is really incorrect about what you are saying , it just kind of doesn't do justice to how the division really was playing out when that game took place.

Since 2002, the Texans have had 2 double digit win seasons (2011, and 2012)

Every other year, JJ Watt or not, the Texans have been average

This is a team that gets hyped up every year, just to go "around" 8-8. It may be 9-7, it may be 6-10.

Perennially Mediocre.

Colts would know mediocre, check out your season records from 1984-1998; that's 14 years, longer than the Texans have existed. If it weren't for two QBs miraculously saving you from then on, the team would probably be in San Antonio by now.

JIm Harbaugh took the colts to the AFCCG in 95.

How many Superbowl and Playoff appearances do the Texans have?

Ooooh that would be fun. Another team in Texas besides us and the 'Girls. California wouldn't have anything on us lol.

Sorry your QBs were not protected enough or were not mobile and strong enough to keep from getting injured. The Texans also didn't have to play the Broncos or the Patriots either. So there would have been a couple of more losses. If your going to make a statement between the Colts and the Texans then be prepared to hear the truth.

You guys should know by now that you play in the sorriest division where the Colts get to sweep their opponents every year.

Houston is a joke. Bill O'Brien couldn't manage to get his best player on offense to stay. i don't care who they bring in. They still won't win 10 games and you all know this, it's just hot air.

I think Houston is a better team than people give them credit for. I was routing for Houston the year the Colts went down the toilet to win it all...unfortunately they didn't as is known.

JJ Watt the best player in the NFL?? Hmmm, I would say no but definitely a top 10 for sure....but he is without any doubt in my mind the most athletic by miles...the guy plays solid all over the field.

Says the fan of an NFC South team. I've never seen a faster fall from the top then what the Saints have suffered.

    • https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/rams-tried-to-trade-up-for-brock-bowers-then-byron-murphy   You seem to be right.
    • Read this this morning. Thought it was interesting    https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/indianapolis-colts/news/colts-rams-nfl-draft-trade-offer-revealed-rejected/be019bcd2ee81b6ffeb4656e     "This was the rejected trade offer from the Rams to the Colts in the first round:     Rams get: Nos. 15, 191   Colts get: Nos. 19, 99, 154   While that's the kind of deal Chris Ballard would be expected to take in the past, the Colts clearly had an eye for edge rusher Laiatu Latu.   It's clear that it would have taken much more in the offer for the Colts to move off the chance of selecting the prospect they believe was the best defender in the entire draft.   There were a few viable prospects available at the time so it would have made sense for the Colts to trade back.   But this only proves how convicted they were in draft Latu."     Not too surprised we turnt that down as it has us losing on the draft chart by a little bit, but does show the conviction they had in Latu.
    • Offense wins in the league now and to take it a step further the QB is by far the lost important piece on any team.    So, on offense you need the best possible QB with the best possible supporting cast and on defense you need players who can affect the play of the opposing QBs directly.
    • This is definitely an issue. So, either Ballard is A.) Cheap and he doesn't want to spend money on FAs (even with injuries happening) or B.) He can't build a competitive enough team to attract any worthwhile FA's after 7 going on 8 years now.    If AR and the current team can't attract FAs that could theoretically get a starting job at the S position for a year, then we are in big trouble according to the opinions of the players of the NFL. Personally, I think Ballard just avoids FA so much that he doesn't want to bring outside help in. He wants to be known as the GM who builds his team from the draft.   Wish the local media would call him out on this.
    • I think the Colts have the money to be competitive for a good free agent safety.  I think bringing in one of them may depend on whether a player like Simmons wants to play for the Colts.  They may be hoping to sign for a team with a better chance of making the playoffs.   So I don’t know if Ballard is making a statement or not?     Hope my answer makes sense to you….
