So add in all that and we are right at 10 million.

I think that's safe to say we are done with major signings, unless someone comes cheaply.

That's unbelievable, 10 is scary.  I guess were now putting all our eggs in the draft basket. So much for Knighten, Starks, Fairly, Hardy, and the rest..we don't have any money left....wow

I could see us bringing in another player for 7 mil per with a couple cuts. We could draft a tackle and cut Gosder in the post-June 1 cuts. That alone gives us the nessessary breathing room for season.

That 10 million would include draft picks also.

If we don't sign another D-Lineman Grigson is off his rocker. So even if there is just 10 mill left, we can, and we have to make it work if we want to have a better defense next year. Cutting Thomas will save a couple mill btw. Signing Knighton would give us a pretty good defense next year.

I will say it again. This does not include Adams, Langford and Dre

Yeah but that is after taking out the $ needed for the draft. Langford is ~5, adams is about 2.1 and I'll pencil in 7 for dre till we learn more and that leaves us with 8.5

Yeh but we do need some left over as a safety net for the season. Like I said, a couple cuts and we could potentially make another decent signing.

Btw, spotrac has the Colts at 22 million not counting the 3 recent signings nut they are taking out almost 4.5 million for draft signings.

Also, I didn't realize Landry being cut costs us 3.5 million in dead money that will get back next year.

We need to see which way the TRich thing is going and what cap relief we get there. I'm worried that if Thomas hasn't been cut already they plan on giving him a shot at proving his fitness in TC. I guess it's not the worst plan if you don't need the money right now to sign anyone else.

Yup, I think cuts can wait until after the draft. See what the have with the roster and spend that 10 m if Grigd feels its needed.

The Trich issue will probably be a settlement of some type

What the guy did wasnt worthy of getting booted

(He missed a meeting because of a significant personal issue, fiance medical)

He gained some weight

Both are minor infractions. The union will be fighting this tooth and nail

His real reason for being on the way out is extreme subpar field play and cap hit

It wouldn't surprise me if the 3.5 mil was split, where we settled on a 2mil number

So we got about what 14 or 13 million to spend after Langford and Adams contracts? We can add more to that if we cut Thomas and Richardson obviously.

I have two words for you that will blow this idea out of the water: Luck, Hilton.

Is no one remembering that we are going to have to shell out some serious dough to keep these two? Heck not even just these two, but Castonzo, Fleener and Allen too... I think our FA spending is over / I hope it is if we are going to have any shot at keeping our core offensive players together.

I can see that we cut Erik Walden, get $4 mil. in cap space relief to bump it up to $14 mil. or so and sign Wilfork or Knighton and still have about $7 mil space. Then we call it a day.

Save some of the rest of the cap space for re-signing Castanzo first before the season ends and structure the 1st year accordingly. T.Y. is going to be tricky due to how much WRs are being paid right now.

Walden isn't going to be cut

If that is the case, we are better off saving what we have to re-sign Castanzo first. They are not paying Cole $8 mil. to sit on the sidelines.

So, we have Cole and Mathis for starting OLBs with Werner and Newsome backing them up. Walden seems like the odd man out.
