neverstop1863
So its been awhile since I have posted, I just wanted to share my interests in this deal.......Its been awhile since I have been excited about a Colts running game, granted I have definitely got my kicks through the air but somewhere deep down I crave the running game that we lack....I have been visiting the forums constantly and tried to monitor the status of this deal, most of what I have read has knocked him for being injury prone so I looked into the rookie running backs from 07 and compared their history, for some reason i don't remember Bradshaw being an "Injury prone" player so here is some of what I found..... OldSchoolColt
It would be nice to see all the injury info in one post. The most important thing is not where he has been, but where is he at now. Does any injury significantly increase his chance to not play at full speed? His running style does put a ton of pressure on his feet. Does the quality and depth of our backs allow for us to better handle injuries if he has them?

I try not to make too much out of it..... This is where I'm at too. I'm not concerned with his health. If there was a problem, we would not be negotiating with him. Anyway, I would love to have him. Grigs is all too familiar with him having been in the NFC East and watching him up close at least twice a year. So I'll as usual defer to his judgement. I see that his (Bradshaw's) camp floated some possible New England nonsense last night...but I doubt that is going to move our front office. Eventually his agent will come around to acknowledging that we'll have plenty of cash going forward....so if his client (i.e. him) has any hope of a future payday, He'll sign here. Just like DHB did. Ballard and Bradshaw.Get used to it....Yes, stats are what they are. But we aren't looking at apples to apples. No way does Bradshaw sniff 1K yards last year behind that thing we mistakenly refer to as an OLine. Likewise, I'd love to know what any of our back could have done behind the line Giants fans called terrible last year. In Bradshaw's highlight reel, the line was opening up MONSTER holes and sealing off 1/3 of the field, while our linemen spent most of the year on their butts watching Dlinemen making plays 5 yards in the backfield. Those are the only facts... ...Ballard and Brown can back up Bradshaw...... You'll like it and they'll like it...Yes, I also agree. Plus, I know our Oline was horrible last year, but the Giants was not outstanding either (although much better than ours) and Bradshaw, despite the much talked of injuries averaged 222 carries the last 3 seasons at 4.35 ypc (Ballard 3.9 ypc behind a bad line). All we need from Bradshaw is 160 carries this coming season (10 per game)--not to mention his pass catching ability (10.7 per catch last year for an RB is outstanding). Jay Kirk
And a very well informed one.Sure it is Lol,probably the reason he got replaced.also the reason all the teams are beating down his door
AntonMcG
Your opinion.Between the tackles never was real impressed, more of a slasher type, dont get me wrong not saying he is not a good RB if healthy, and would be glad to have him if hes a team player. But if he thinks its all about him this would be the wrong team. And yes have watched him many times ,like the Giants and Im a pretty big follower of Eli It is borderline fact. I live in New York and very rarely miss a Giants game... anyone who actually watches him and says he runs soft is lying. Ask his teammates, ask Giants fans. You may have problems with him, injuries, etc. etc., but running soft is not something you can justify. He does not take snaps off. I consider him amongst the hardest runners in the league longside Marshawn Lynch. Sorry, but you're just wrong here.

Sorry, but you're just wrong here.Well maybe im basing it off him running injured just don't recall him moving a lot of people lately, but one thing im not is a liar anyone that knows me knows that.I go by what I see and there was a time I really loved his game like the first SB run with Eli.Just seems to me hes not the same runner he once was.If he signs and proves me wrong ,I will be the first to admit it. I just don't see him being the main RB in this system.I do think he would help, but I believe the running will be spread around between 2 backs he could be one of them. Some people just seem to think Ballard will be parked in the garage,I don't see that happening, and if it does its a major mistake and will come back to bite us !!!!!! chrisfarley
he is a bust waiting to happen, but instead of saying, "injury prone", it will literally be "injury to bone" - out 6 to 8 weeks. wait for it.

This move would certainly affect Ballard, but he would still have a significant contribution to the offense, a power running game cannot be done by one back, it is far too physically demanding. Bradshaw does everything you want a back to do well, I do not see why people would't want us to sign players that could improve our team... do we really owe Ballard so much? He is good, but not as good as a lot of people around here claim. Same goes for Havali... people saying they would rather have him than Vontae Leach, whose easily the best FB in football? Where is the logic there? The only reason people say this is because these players are currently on the team, and they feel they must provide them with some misplaced sense of loyalty. There have been a lot of advocates (And I am not talking about you Jay) here for the importance of our running game this season, some people think it is the key to our success... the irony is, some of these are the same people that prefer our current personnel, to proven players like Bradshaw and Leach... who could drastically improve our running game. Some people post just to post... because 10,000 posts must mean you know lots about football. </rant>
TKnight24
Well the Colts have often been injury prone too as a whole. He'd fit right in.It's wrong to say that, but it's true and that's what makes it funny

Especially given the irony of knocking Carter for fumbling or Brown for injuries. At the end of the day, none of us have any idea how Ballard/Brown would have fared behind a line that could actually block. Nor do we have a clue how bad Bradshaw would have looked behind our line last year.I think the people you are ranting about (presumably including me) feel that the fixes have to start on the line before we have any clue what we have in the backfield. So now maybe we've seen fixes on the line, but have no idea how effective these changes will be yet.I'm all for adding Bradshaw, but am not convinced he is automatically better than the guys already on the team, regardless of what previous seasons' stats say.
