Not a high priority, but probably an upgrade over our revolving door of RTs.

BTW, they were saying the Browns are going after both Kruger and Barwin.  They have even more cap than us.

Barwin said he wants to go to a winner, and when they asked him if he'd consider a team like the Browns he basically said no.  Money talks.

If we want Kruger IMO.......the Pagano factor can lure someone from Baltimore more then the Browns can. But, that's IF we have real interest.

I am neutral on Barwin right now.

He only allowed 3 sacks last year.

I'd like it if we got him, he shouldn't demand a huge amount and fills a big need.

Then get Vasquez and he fills the guard need.

Get Vasquez first.

Wouldn't you love to know who Grigs has on speed dial right now?  I wonder if they wait until after midnight to start talking to agents on Saturday.

Same.  We need one rush OLB and Kruger already knows the system.  But I'd take either at this point.

Well, technically we could get Winston now (he was released). Then get Vasquez as soon as free agency beings. :)

I agree with you though, Vasquez should be a higher priority than Winston. Both would be nice though IMO.

Yeah I kinda like Kruger to pair back up with Chuck. Sigh. But, I don't know what the deal is anymore haha.

Assuming he's healthy and his performance for the last year or two has graded out well enough,  then I'm fine with Winston as the RT.....

When you've got the kind of money to spend as the Colts do, this is not an either/or situation,  we can sign both and it doesn't matter in what order....

I'd love to see him brought here. He has talent and really made the impression of being a team player when he called out the Chiefs fans for cheering when Cassel got concussed. Reading the comments on ESPN, they didn't deserve him anyways. Fans simply wanted him gone because he "called them out for no reason", as many people said. This is why I started to hate the Chiefs in the first place. I live in Missouri, and most of their fans are total *****.

According to ESPN, the Chiefs have released Eric Winston. He's 29, so he's not all that young, but he'd be a major upgrade at right tackle.

"Winston made headlines in early December when he spoke out against home fans who cheered when quarterback Matt Cassel suffered a concussion in a game against the Baltimore Ravens."

I actually forgot about this. You have to respect a guy that vigorously & vocally defends his QB. The perfect ally & bodyguard in the huddle for Andrew IMO.

RT is a big priority and Winston would be a significant upgrade

Good lord, what is with all of the Paul Kruger love. He is a slightly above average player who is going to be way overpaid due to lack of FA talent at that position. That contract will be regrettable for whoever signs him. Rather sign a stop gap and wait until next year for the permanent fixture.

If we could pick up both Vasquez and Winston I would be one happy fan. A starting SS would round it out.

How come no one is doing the "He's a zone blocker" thing when it comes to Winston playing for us? With anyone else that's all we ever hear. "Oh he's more suited for a zone scheme".

I'd be cool if we picked up Winston, all jokes aside.

Do you think the Texans would give him a call?

I wouldn't see why not. He didn't want to take a pay cut last year and I don't know how much we'd be willing to give him now, but as you mentioned, our right side isn't as glorious as it once was. I could see us signing him again.

Think about it? Would you want to take a pay cut playing for the Scrub Chiefs? I sure as heck wouldn't! Now if I'm playing for a talented team like the Texans then I might give it a bit more consideration.

Lol I meant that he didn't want to take a pay cut for us. I'm sure after this abysmal season with Kansas City he's looking to join a competitor again hehe.

I think it would be a good fit back with Houston, but he's not off limits from our squad either if Grigs decides to pull the check book out!

Yep...may the highest bidder win. :D I'm sure 12 wouldn't mind having a guy like Winston protecting his strong side.

    • Once again, Latu just pops on the screen.  I know it’s just a drill, but compared to Ebukam…his movements and techniques are more fluid and crisp, and hes quicker.   https://youtube.com/shorts/k5W6CFq5ReQ?si=7DLSO-G0Gqt-5R6a
    • He's not signed, there is nothing else to talk about and I am bored.
    • Yes, I know. The Stanford teams  when Hogan was the starting QB were full of top recruits on offense and defense. It was so much fun being a fan then. I'm not as big a fan of Stanford as you are. Being on the East Coast makes it hard to follow them as much as I used to.   Overall, I am becoming less and less interested in sports. For over 20 years, I used to listen to sports radio whenever I had free time.  I used to follow tennis, golf, baseball, college basketball, a little NBA and NHL as well as NFL and college football. I once went to 20+ baseball games in a year.  The only sport I still follow religiously now is NFL football. I try to follow my favorite baseball team, the Mets, but not enough. I attribute my loss of interest to there being too much change and movement of players, coaches, teams, conferences, etc. Stanford is now part of the ACC! My goodness! (Shaking my head) I don't like all these changes in conferences.   I was a big fan of Ted Leyland, Stanford's former athletic director many years ago. It saddened me when Leyland left Stanford to go to the University of Pacific which was his alma mater. I see he retired. He hired Buddy Teevens who died last year. Back in those days, I followed Stanford football a lot more closely. They were not great years but I loved rooting for players who also excelled in the classroom.   TL;DR 😉
    • Oh I think they are ready. They are right in the thick of it. Well educated and smart women. They are more in tune with the Indianapolis Colts than all of the new ownership in the league is with their respective franchises. I'm not concerned in the least with these ladies taking over moving forward. I think it's a great thing and speaks to the stability that the organization is preaching and looking to build.
    • I'm out this year. I'm going to be focusing on my bestballs and daily fantasy. I already have $400 invested and am making a concentrated effort this year to win some money.
