He evidently did not. But reports were that he was a candidate.

Philbin was Dolphins' HC when Vontae was traded to Indy, interesting.

I don't like him as a coach at all in the NFL.  

  

The Dolphins are talented and that team is a total mess.

The Dolphins' line is really bad.  

IDK how they rank on PFF, but if you watched any of their games the past few seasons, Tannehill has been abused.

Well they didn't hire him as a head coach or even a coordinator.  They hired him to coach the o-line and his history as just an o-line coach is impressive.

I guess they won't have any deal. Our O-line problems will keep Philbin's nose on the grindstone.

I disagree.  

The coach has to take at least some responsibility.  

He's an OLine guy and he did not do his job in Miami and left the team in shambles.  

  

The Oline is why they're as bad as they are.  

Tannehill is talented as hell when he has some time to throw.

They let Hal Hunter walk, just announced yesterday. I assumed his contract was up. They've taken Hunter off of the website, but not Gilbert. I don't know what the real deal is, though...

His work as a coordinator is impressive. I think he's a good coach, just did a bad job as a head coach.

I think Philbin won't be considered as potential HC candidate for a while, Pagano is under contract. Chud is the only one who might be an attractive candidate.

Yes. Philbin was not a HC candidate anymore.  

He may be 3-4 years down the line again when someone gets desperate, but he did a terrible job in MIami with a pretty talented team.
