Jabar Gaffney and Jacoby Jones

Jabar Gaffney(Washington) and Jacoby Jones(Texans) have both been released by their teams. I think we should give them both a shot they are both decent recievers that have a few years under their belts. At first their teams were trying to trade them both but ended up just releasing them.

I really have a feeling they are going to implement T.Y. Hilton along with Wayne, Collie, Fleener, Allen and Avery somehow. They did also draft Brazill in the late rounds. I think one veteran WR is enough but I wouldn't be disappointed if they got Gaffney by any means. I'm still really hoping even though Hilton is very small, with some learning and repitition he could be a starter.

No, no, no, no, no... Gaffney has character issues and is past his prime. Jacoby Jones is a returner first receiver second and he could have been a nice addition if the Colts didn't draft Hilton. Hilton is the returner and Jones is not a very good receiver.

All true. Plus, when are we going to understand that we're basically capped out? Any veteran pickup is going to be tough.

although both are decent WR's but part of rebuilding is going to get young players, not old players. granted gaffney was pretty good last year with below average QB's who couldnt hit a guy who was standing 5 yards in front of them if their life depended on it. but i like the colts WR corp and i think brazill could turn into a really good receiver. and TY has the ability to be another wes welker, he has the speed, the hands and the ability to play outside of the slot like welker. i understand depth means alot especially with the concussion prone collie. but if their gonna get WR's they need to go after undrafted FA's

I am ok with sticking with what we got. We need to give the young guys all the reps we can. If later in the season God forbid we have an injury rash we can bring someone of that caliber in. Save the cap space (doubt we even have any). Much rather sign Goodman or Jenkins for the secondary for depth if we are signing people. To be honest I doubt we see any more signings unless we address Freeney's contract or we have a rash of injuries. The team you see is the team your going to get.

Hilton and Brazill will be ballers. Wayne and Collie are ballers. Avery can be a baller.

Hilton and Brazill are FAST and can/will play in the return game as could Avery if needed (who subsequently is also fast)

the need for either Gaffney or Jones isnt there... anywhere...

Yeah, because he became the #1 receiver after Moss went down. He got all the targets. That won't happen with the Colts. He's not worth it, plus he's with the Pats now.

if we need another wide receiver that bad we should have got another one early on in the draft. we need defense not another number two or slot receiver

I agree. We should have got our potential next #1 WR this year to come up with Luck.
