According to the stats you just provided we are not going cheap.   And if Pryor does well, his salary will easily double next year.  Plus our RT is one of the highest paid RTs in football.

So, what was your point again?

Because they aren’t planning on Pryor being the long term answer.  He’s holding the fort down until the rookie is ready.  The rookie is the same guy Venturi wanted the Colts to use their second round pick on draft night so he slide and the Colts might have gotten a steal.

It is just a list of salaries. One could make a variety of observations, hypothesis, conclusions from it.

Your first sentence drew what i hoped all the ignorer of facts would comprehend. That their whining about CB NOT CARING enough about the position was phewy!

And oh ya, i see 7 teams 18 and below that look like some of this years BEST Teams.

I definitely didn't get that from your OP. But I saw "tackle" and assumed you meant left tackle only. Just went back and now I see you're including more than just the left tackle.

And yeah, ignorers of facts see things their own way, and there's no changing that.

Observation 1:  colts are about in the top 3rd in starting tackle salaries.  The biggest chunk on Smith, not the left tackle.

Observation 2: spending big on tackles is no guarantee for success.  Look where Cincinnati and the rams are.

A few things regarding your Observation 2 - Andrew Whitworth of the Rams retired (made 8.5 mil. in his last year) and the Bengals, they paid a price for it with Burrow being one of the most sacked QBs in the league. The team won despite their OL struggles, thanks to Burrow's timely use of his legs, smart releases and timely play of their playoff defense. Their OL did rear its ugly head versus the pass rush of the Rams several times in the SB.

While you don't need to be Top 5 in tackle spending, hovering around the league average should yield decent results. The younger the QB (especially in a rookie contract), the more you can (and should) invest in tackles, IMO.

Yeah, neither one of those things are happening.

Hey maybe the Dolphins will trade us their starting LT for Braden Smith?  kick Pryor over to RT and then everyone will shut up about the proper allocation for money spent and where on the OLine.  Of course until we pay Nelson, which will immediately throw everyone into a hissy fit again.
