How did Henry Anderson not fit our Defensive scheme

Watching him tonight, he's very disruptive. Jets got him for pennies on the dollar.

Anderson, Simon, Melvin and Hankins should all still be on this team. I think this is either CB making huge mistakes or we are in rebuild and have no intention of winning now and even next year

Whoops, you beat me to it.

He just forced an interception (making the guard look like a turnstile), hit Blount on the play he got hurt, and then hit Stafford on the play he got hurt. That was 3 straight plays!

He definitely had no place in a 4-3. Just ignore the fact that he's playing on a 4-3 front half the time with the Jets haha.

Yes questioned it then still do now.  It is what it is.  At least Hunt is performing so it's sort of a wash. I mean we could've had both and really attack in waves... Ugh y'all are really trying to spoil my good feelings from the game by bringing this up aren't y'all...

On the other side, another Belichick disciple is off to great start.  Jets might drop a 60 burger.

they might, yet another INT just now.  ESPN moved the game to ESPN2 at 5:52 to go in the 4th....raiders v rams more important indeed! On the Detroit side it's called a Scorebored.

Correct and he couldn’t stay healthy.

Now maybe if you started your argument with his health you'd be taken more seriously.

Tackles and sacks are not a way to judge a 3-4 defensive lineman.  They are not there to do either of those.  If they do then it's "extra".

It was really hard to ignore his presence, no doubt.

I get that his health was a question (even if one of his injuries was pretty freakish) but I'm not a big fan of the fit argument for cutting players on the DL. A lot of people thought Woods wouldn't fit, heck even Hunt himself said he didn't like playing in a 4-3 defense, and they looked like two of our best D-linemen yesterday.

When Anderson played here he missed 19 games, played in 29 of 48 games. Had 43 Tackles and 3 Sacks. Not like we got rid of an All-Pro lmao

This. Hard to blame management on this one. He was hurt too often. Glad he’s doing well now but it’s one game. See how well he holds up before making any bold statements.

Hes a 3-4 DE...   he’s not very fast or twitchy...    he’s not much of a pass rusher....   he can make tackles around the line of scrimmage,  but he’s not known for penetration or pressure in the backfield.

Im a Stanford fan...   love Henry...   but he was clearly not a scheme fit.

Big time mistake letting Henry Anderson go.  No way he was not a fit for our defense.

100 percent false.    3-4 DE better against the run than the pass.    I’m a longtime Stanford fan.   Glad when we drafted him when we were running a 3-4 defense.

I preficted we’d trade him.   It was not hard to see this coming.   Ballard knows what he’s doing.

Easy with the intellect here fellas... He CLEARLY could have played in any scheme on any team. Everyone here agrees with me.

Over 3 years he had 65 tackles and 3 sack and he was injured a lot.  That’s why he isn’t with us anymore.

Yeah as much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree. I like Henry Anderson as much as anyone, & I didn’t like getting just a 7th rounder for him, but he only made it through 10+ games once in his 3 seasons with the Colts. I can see how it’d be tough to give him a roster spot in that 4th season, which would’ve also been a contract year.
