He is not the answer....heyward would've been decent for us

I agree with you. I was talking about us signing Toler over him in the 2013 offseason. Both got similar deals. Smith was much better with KC than Toler was for us. But I did want him this past offseason, but again I agree with you. Hayward would have been the best option, and for a fraction of the cost. You know how Grigs has always wanted to sign mid tier guys who he thought would break out, or guys that had some upside but hadn't reached their potential yet, and etc? What's sad is Grigson couldn't even do that well. If he had signed Morris Claiborne, Casey Hayward, Nick Perry, and Zach Brown we'd be a top 5 team right now and probably 6-2 or 7-1.

Actually I felt Foles was more dangerous than Smith because he stretches the field better than Alex Smith beyond the RBs and TEs. I was hoping Alex stayed in.

Good for Jeremy Maclin FF owners because Foles and Maclin did real well in Philly together. Chiefs fans secretly know that. Chiefs can be more dangerous with Foles except that he won't scramble like Alex Smith.

I'm surprised to see some people in here still backing up Grigson.  Grigson had 4-5 years of signing FA that will help us get a ring.  I'll name off some names he drafted and signed.  Trent Ricky Jean Toler Werner Andre Johnson art jones cromartie right tackle from lions md the list goes on.  Grigson had plenty of chances to get good FA but nope he out smarted himself paid for what he thought was average talent at a premium friendly team contract.  Grisgson created the dream team part 2 what he failed to do when he was with the Eagles!

You always talk about free agency but have no clue what goes on in locker rooms. Players have family, loyalty to other teams, better weather, more money, better team, bigger market etc. to think about when making free agency decisions.

Other teams in cold small markets can build good teams.

The worst part about Grigson is that he blew a rare opportunity.   The Colts were at an elite type of status.   They were a team players would want to play for.  They were getting the prime time slots for their games (Monday night, Sunday night).  They were a team expected to win the division each year.  Now they are back to being a door stop.

Thanks Grigson.   Thanks Pagano.

Didn't he sign a center who retired rather than play here, Phil Costa or was that before him?

Breaking news today and guess what we're not in the conversation.  Jamie Collins a hybrid LB/DE a T Suggs type of player we need for Pagano defense scheme.  Clevland landed Collins for a third round pick.  Grigson will now probably offer a 1st for him to clevland smartest GM in the NFL.

The wild thing about this is I said before the season started I could see this team going anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 based on everything I saw last season and that I thought just adding Ryan Kelly as the starter wont fix everything. Instead I let some talk me out of that stance I took.

-We replaced a bad Corner who's injury prone with a bad Corner whos not injury prone

-We only have 1 D Lineman who did anything last year in Langford and this year he's not been healthy

-We had a bad Linebacker situation last year and did not do much to improve it

-We replaced a OC who used a lot of 7 step drops with an OC who uses a lot of 7 step drops

-We lack much size at WR and Moncrief doesn't always play to his size and capabilities

Truth is 6-10 will be an achievement this year based on the rest of the schedule and the mess this team is

    • This is one of the most bizarre and complicated stories I’ve ever come across. But I give you my word, this is NOT about an entitled athlete.  I’d say so if it was.     Sheffler was doing what all the athletes were told to do if there was a problem.  He was in a car clearly marked that he was a player.  He had  credential that he showed.  All the players were told to drive around if there was any problem.      But it appears there was a miscommunication with the Louisville PD.  They didn’t send their best, they sent their junior varsity who were completely unprepared for what happened.  They didn’t know that the athletes had clearance to go around.  Turns out, ESPN was right behind Scheffler.  They were doing a feature on him.  And they said he did exactly what was instructed to do by PGA officials.      If this was an entitled athlete abusing law enforcement I’d be saying so.  Honestly, I would.  But I’ve read multiple stories and this is what I’ve pieced together.
    • I liked what little we saw from Evan Hull in preseason last year. Hoping he can solidify himself as a good #2 back to spell for JT.
    • When I saw that I was stunned and not just for the Colts but the Jets??!! Granted the Jets are improved over last year but SIX primetime games. I was in New York once and that will hold true after I'm dead.
    • It turns out that he comes from a family and a school with very accomplished women. Not only is his mother a physicist, his sister is a Physician's Assistant who studied at Weill Cornell Graduate School right here on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in NY. His paternal aunt is a senior vice president of a firm. And his graduating class at Georgia Tech had over 50 women graduate in industrial engineering.   He did not bother to mention any of that. He may be the least academically successful member of his family.    https://www.thedailybeast.com/harrison-butkers-atlanta-hometown-scolds-him-over-commencement-speech     That comes across loud and clear.   As for the school being Catholic, there are many Catholic schools that don't preach that. I wonder if Notre Dame would ever invite him to address grads. I doubt it. A group affiliated with the school said that Butker does not represent them. They said that instead of bringing people together, his address was divisive.     https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5502923/2024/05/18/harrison-butker-benedictine-sisters-jersey?source=user-shared-article
    • Yeah... I love how genuinely excited he is by this whole process. From videos coming into the building, to videos of the introduction to his helmet, to just any interview really... he seems so thankful and exuberant. Love his whole demeanor. There's very little to nothing that seems rehearsed or contrived like most of the prospects nowadays... This is not a dig at other players - they are all media coached and prepared so much in the pre-draft process that they lose a lot of their personality in front of the camera. I don't think this is the case with Laiatu.
