Reggie feeling confident confident about his recovery

For what it's worth,  Andrea Kramer, who covers health and injury issues for NFL.com did a series on the type of knee injury that Reggie suffered.   She even mentioned Reggie as one of the players who suffered the injury (ACL?)

Anyway....   within the piece, the players interviewed all say the same thing....   while you're cleared to play,  your knee doesn't feel 100% your first year back.   And your mind knows this.   And you don't feel quite as confident trying to do the things you used to do.

All of that typically doesn't happen for a player until their 2nd year after surgery.   So, for Reggie,  the 2015 season.

Let's all hope that Reggie is the exception to the rule.............

His game is pretty much floating into openings so that is a plus. And we can bring him along slowly, more Reps for Rogers.

I know.    Sorry I don't put that in my original post.

My main point is that for all of Reggie's (and our) optimism,  the odds says he'll be something less than 100% this year...  but, if he comes back for another year -- and I think he will -- he'll be back to 100% in 2015.

I am going to look on the bright side. First, even if he is 75% of himself he is going to take pressure off TY, Allen, and Nicks. We have so many weapons Reggie does not need to be where he was, although I hope he will be.

Second, I have heard most athletes say the same thing about ACL, it is a mindset, just getting to trust it. So Josh Chapman should be a beast this year, since it will be his second year back from his ACL tear!

I think Reggie will be fine. His knee will feel 100% his head will just be scared it will get injured again. If there is two ppl in the NFL I have faith in to come back and play 100% or better it would be Reggie or Peyton. I think Reggie is going to feel good. And I think he he's going to play even better.

AD nearly set the all time rushing record the next season after ACL repair.

If Reggies biggest asset was speed, i would be more worried. But he is a move the chains kind of wr. I have no doubt he will have a solid year

Reggie has the best hands I've ever seen.

I would see Andrew overthrow a pass or throw it out to the side.  I'm thinking, "Darn.  Incomplete."   Then Reggie comes up with the ball after contorting his body, catching a seemingly impossible pass, and getting two feet in bounds.  Amazing.

I think Reggie may come back later in the season.  Hopefully Nicks can step up and fill in the gap along with Hilton and the others.

Yes this might be true for most players that have and ACL surgery, but remember this is not Reggie's first one. Didn't he have one back in college. He has experienced the mental part of the injury. He has experienced what it felt to be 50, 75, 80, 90, 95, and 100% etc. before. He wants to come back and show everyone that he is not done yet and as a vet who has been though this process before, showing confidence that he will come back better than ever. I believe the 2014 season will be Reggie's 2015 season in doing the things he is used to doing.

Reggie will be back AND be the receiver we come to depend on, I'll take an any % Reggie over no Reggie at all...   Any Day

Even at 80% he still much better than a good percentage of the guys out there...  IMHO

Man I am ready for camp...

    • Im not certain if there will even be any room for Pierce bc the 4th and 5th receivers need to have special teams ability. I think AD will show enough to gain the Colts confidence. You know Dulin will be there. So from there you're competing with Gould and whoever else. You know Gould plays special teams.  Going to be interesting what they have in mind.
    • Latu's addition also tells me that Gus is not doggedly adhering to his historical "Cover-3 Leo" defense.  Latu is not a Leo.  He's not the undersized wide-9 OLB type playing in a 4-3.  He's a bona fide 4-3 DE.  I'm expecting Gus to even further move away from his historical base defense.  (I never believed that he was going to cling to it come h3ll or high water.  That his coverages last year were simplified perforce, due to the inexperience of the guys he had on the field.)  I'm excited to see what we look like defensively with the new guys inserted.
    • It's about who else is Free Agents vs cap space, propensity to pay our own, can we find better 2-way(run-pass) production for less, is it worth a gamble? Fact that we have the top defensive player on our board from the draft under cheap contract, makes it easier to offset funds. Like I said we can almost have 4 DEs with the funds paid to Bosa by himself. The fact that all I hear from the Colts is glowing reviews about him.   In my opinion the Colts brought Latu in to start opposite of Paye, in the long term. Ebukam will be 31 when he's due for a new contract in 2026.     Just because we exercise the option, doesn't mean we can't work on an extension if his trajectory shows continued growth.     Good thing is we will know in a few hours.
    • Of course and with his, these are just 19-20 year old kids... who wants to be accountable for everything they did at that age.  AD will forever remember that Ballard passed on him as if he didn’t care if he got him or the next guy.  Ballard throwing a cussing rant that got some extra playtime was Mandatory. In the end though it all falls on Mitchell to live a good life and work hard.
    • Lenny Moore as well- yet Indy Fans don’t even put him on the list of Best Colts Running Backs. Some of his NFL TD Records were just broken in the past few years, after standing since the 1960s.
