Marino or Manning - who would you take?

Assuming both QB's are in their prime - Marino and it's not even close. A better athlete from head to toe and he had possibly the best throwing mechanics of any QB in history.

Manning's greatest attribute is his mind. No other QB is his equal in that regard. That being said Marino wasn't exactly a dunce.

The first half of his career definately Marino...then Manning the second half. I would take Marino and think in each's prime Marino is the better qb....but over a career...and seeing how Manning got so much better with age...Manning later....like from 05 on....after those first 7 seasons or so....not that Marino wasnt great later...but as we saw his skills/talents deminish as age grew...his game definately slowed...Manning is like a fine wine lol. Just for one moment imagine Peyton Manning with the arm/firey spirit of Dan Marino....lol...unstopable lol.

I think Manning aged well given the time. He barely survived a dont touch em league, Marino given that benefit maybe could have aged as well.

Possibly...its a very hypothetical situation...I'm just saying what I saw from the two...I'd take 7 or 8 from each....Marino first, Peyton latter. Am I not allowed in this hypothetical world we are discussing??? lol

Absolutely! It just got me thinking about how todays QBs are lasting a bit longer than the last batch.

Marino and Manning have been two of the greatest pure passers in the NFL. If you were starting a team, who would you pick and why?

Tough call because these guys are better than folks with multiple Super Bowls...

For one game, I'd take Marino.....his arm just handcuffed defenses

For the long run..Id take Manning...he's so good with improving teammates....

.....so the question 'if I'm starting a team'.....it would be Peyton Manning

Easily Marino. It's more impressive with his 1984 passing records considering the era and rules he played in.

He would easily have a ring or two in today's age of super quarterbacks.

Wait can I choose Warren Moon?

He would not easily have had anything in the same division as NE and Tom Brady
