I dont see Peyton jumping into the top 10.

Rodgers

AP

Calvin

Brees

Brady

Watt

Ware

Willis

Miller

Ngata

Peyton landing in the 11-17 range. with guys like Fitz, Bowman, Aldon Smith, Marshall, Ryan, Lynch, Allen, etc

Geno Atkins would be on before Ngata.

I'm thinking Peyton will probably be like #3 behind Rodgers and Peterson.   The only other players you might be able to put ahead of him are Calvin Johnson and Tom Brady.  Peyton had a better year overall then Brady I think so he beats Brady.  He beats Calvin Johnson on the basis that Quarterbacks get inflated.

I just can't see it. First he'd have to jump about 48 spots. His age is a factor. And he finished right around 6th in all major passing cats, but 3rd in TDs. Yards/ATT/YpG etc. Rodgers/Brees/Brady will all rank ahead of him. Due to last years placement, and the fact the all trumped him in various #s. so there are 3 locks for top 10 without getting into the MVP AP, Calvins record year, the rise of Von Miller/JJ Watt. Right there are 7. And what about last years top 10 guys. Ngata, Ware, Revis, Fitz?

My guess Peyton will finish no farther than 2-3 spots in front or behind Matt Ryan.

You are forgetting the fact that he just came back after a year off and was on a new team. Not to mention the Peyton effect. He didn't even play in 2011 and made the top 50. He will be in the top 10 this year and probably the top 5.

I didnt forget that. Sure he played for a new team. Still had a full offseason, and TC. He also had alot going for him. Including having his main weapons starting 16/15 games. Bradys best started 12/11/10. Brees best started 13/9. Rodgers best started 10/5....So he had a significant more amount of time with his weapons this season than the other top 3 QBs on last years list. We all know the drama NO went thru this season, and I think everyone knows the bad OL Rodgers worked with......Given all these arguments, and the fact that Peyton didnt really outperform any of these QBs, one will have to assume he finishes BEHIND these 3 QBs.

The list has done a good job of splitting up the Top 10 between Def/Off..in 2011, it was 5/5....2012 it was 4/6....So I think they make a cognizant effort to make sure its even, or very close too....

That being said, we've already pegged 3 to be in the Top 10 for sure......Last year AP finished 8th on the list (while being injured, ala Peyton), all the did this season was win MVP, so Im sure he's top 10, arguably #1.....Calvin Johnson finished 3rd last year, this year all he did was break the Rec record, so its a safe bet he's top 3 again, arguably #2....

Right there we have 5 Off guys.

The remaining list was:

5-Revis (Probably out, replaced by? Von Miller? Watt?)

6- Demarcus Ware (Arguably out. Probably replaced by again Miller/Watt, or maybe he just drops a bit. to say 9th? 2nd team all pro)

7-Fitz (Probably out)

9-Haloti (2nd team All Pro, Won SB, did it without Suggs/Lewis, Probably holds tight in the top 10)

10-Patrick Willis (Another 1st team All Pro, Led best Def to SB, he probably stays put)

So we think we have 5 for sure locks. Brees/Rodgers/Brady/AP/Calvin....Haloti/Willis haven't done anything to deserve losing a spot, but probably havent advanced either. Im sure we are all in agreement Von Miller and Watt WILL be top 10.....So we have one spot left, in the later part of the top 10.....

So after doing all this, I think I could see Peyton somewhere in the 8/9/10 range. But in NO WAY will he sniff the top 5.

I don't agree with Peyton being as high as he probably will be first and foremost but this is the nfl people voting and they love Peyton, heck everybody basically does. Wit that you can't just use stats and such they are going to put him there simply because he is Peyton freakin Manning haha.

Once againI probably will not agree with his placing there but hey it happens in a popular vote contest.

the players in the nfl love and respect Peyton. He was in the top 60 last year, and he never took a snap. Peyton will be top five, book it

I feel like it's really hard to rate QBs against all the other positions. Peyton may have a greater impact on his team, but is he really performing better at his position than JJ Watt? How do you quantify a Tom Brady versus a Geno Atkins? For me QBs should be a separate list.

1. JJ Watt

2. Calvin Johnson

3. Von Miller

4. Adrian Peterson

5. Geno Atkins

6. Richard Sherman

7. Clay Matthews

8. Patrick Willis

9. Darrelle Revis

10. AJ Green

For QBs I'd still put Big P at the top.

Reggie and Andrew should make the list from the Colts.

They def will and will probably be top 50ish. Can somebody get the Colts players vids that have popped up so far? All my searches have showed the 2012 vids.

I think some Raven players are being ranked too high because of their SB win.

No Colts players revealed yet.

the top 100 players is crap anyway.

For what it's worth to you....

This list is voted by on the players themselves.   Not the media.    The NFL Network is only the host of the list.

They're tabulating the votes and revealing the names.    But that's it.

Having a RB #1 would be a joke

But so would having the top 15 be QBs.

AP being #1 makes sense. He was 8th last year with a blown out knee. Then he lead his team to the playoffs and nearly set the rushing record in a passing league, on his way to MVP. No way he's not #1.

In most other seasons I'd agree with you.

But Peterson rushing for 2100+ yards when everyone on the planet knew he was getting the ball with the dog meat passing attack they had after Harvin checked out...and after the ACL...I gotta go with him at #1.

Who would you take to start a team...Aaron Rodgers or AP?

And everybody knew Aaron Rodgers was going to pass with the packers dog meat running attack.

    • Thanks for this as yes, I sometimes don't adequately express my take I guess..Ha!! Happens. 🤷‍♂️ But you are correct. Cam to me as you stated was never a consistently good QB at the NFL level and that is why I was never a fan of his game. I guess it's all about how one views what an NFL QB should be or look like. I'm not a fan of Lamar either as I think he is somewhat in the mold of that type of QB. Great athlete who just happens to play QB. Outside of that Raven scheme, I'm not sold on the fact the Jackson could ever flourish. It's why over 90% of the time if Lamar is needed to bring the Ravens out of a deficit he can't do it. It's not his game, yet there are those who think Lamar is superior and he has achieved personal accomplishments. Ravens do consistently win though but it's an entire team deal as their defense is normally rock solid to compliment that run first style. We don't have that here in Indy
    • I already laid out the injuries.  You can say what you want but one was the coaches pulling him in the Rams game because they were down multiple scores with little time left, two of the others were a concussion and a shoulder injury that required surgery so that rules out toughness.  Then the Steelers game he tried to comeback and clearly wasn’t moving well and it’s reported he has injury that does cause players to miss time and there is a chance he plays Sunday which seems to be counter productive to people who want argue he’s not tough enough.  None of those involve him lacking toughness.  It’s a nonsense argument made up by fans who are tired of him being injured.     also Richardson has taken wicked hits and hopped right back up from them.  To the point people complain about the league not protecting him with roughing the passer calls.  If he had no pain tolerance he wouldn’t get up from the those hits.   yes he needs to be better at protecting himself.  Again that has nothing to do with toughness.
    • IMO the only reason to not play Richardson (when healthy) is if you've given up on him. Joe Flacco has a role on this team and that role is secondary or tertiary to the main goal of this team at this moment - namely developing AR and figuring out if he can be our franchise QB. The best way to do both of those is to play him and let him gain experience and playing time... And, ultimately to get enough snaps that you feel comfortable with whatever decision you come to about his long term prospects. And IMO the only reason to bench him is if you think you've gotten the answer to that primary question and it is negative.    Otherwise, we are doing the same thing we were doing the last 3 years before we drafted him and IMO that's the worst place to be as a franchise in regards with your QB... Where you not only don't have a franchise QB but you don't even have the hope of having one on the roster.   I can't believe this conversation is even being had. If he can play... He has to play.
    • The kid chose not to slide to protect himself and was in a really awkward position when he did get a good NFL wallop. It’s absolutely brainless to do that after getting knocked out of games and the season.   Maybe he needs to sit on the bench for another season. Let him play  play play, what, for another game or two until the next stupid injury?  He still has a lot to learn and it looks like to me we are rushing an inexperienced kid into something he isn't quite prepared for.   AR seems humble, maybe a bit more humility regarding a possible Superman complex would serve him and the Colts very well long term.  What AR IS in years 4 and beyond is what Wise Colts fans should be concerned about. And yes, like me, many here are getting old enough we Want It Now! It's an unreasonable expectation for a kid that can't throw an out that isn't a mile high, and hasn't the sense of when and how to protect himself.
    • I don’t listen to games anymore because I don’t work on Sundays anymore. But man sometimes listening to the game is better than watching it. Kinda miss Matt Taylor getting all pumped..  I-N-D-Y lol
