Dwight Lowery is a perfect fit for our scheme

Anyone still believe Lowery sucks? I can clearly remember when most people on this board were upset when we signed him. A few of us pointed out that his ability to cover tight ends and ball hawking skills might actually be a perfect fit for what we do. He is not a perfect fit for any defense, but he excels in our scheme. He is going to play his best football with the Colts.

Pagano has shown yet once again that he can coach any secondary player up and get the most out of him.

The defense played very well against the run. We have 3 of our top 4 corners out. Just imagine how good this defense will be when we get our corners back, and also start getting an effective pass rush. It is not out of the realm of thinking to realistically believe that we have the needed players currently on this roster to become a top tier defense.

As they say I will eat that ole crow. I was wrong. I hated the signing. I just wanted a big time playmaking all pro type and was like dead set on it lol. But yes. Lowery has been outstanding. When we get Toler and Butler back our secondary is going to be really good. And our pass rush should be getting better by the week as Mathis gets up to speed, and we all know that will only make our secondary that much better.

And I don't think he's even 30 years old. So we may have him for the next 3-4 years starting next to Geathers after Adams is gone.

I liked the signing as a spot gap short term starter. Lowery may be proving me wrong and that he could be a long term answer.

Yeah because you'd think he's older than 29 wouldn't you? Yeah man if he keeps this up we should give him a 3-4 year deal in the offseason. Lowery and Geathers could be a good pair for the next 3-4 years. Did we sign Adams to a 1 or 2 year deal?

I cant believe I'm saying this but I love our group of safeties lol. And Lowery after today is becoming one of my favorite defensive players.

They're a strength this year. And like others have said, if Toler and Butler come back we can start playing a more aggressive D.

The D didn't play that bad considering how long they were on the field. I'd give them a C+.

I'll admit that I was wrong. I wasn't angry at the time, but more like- Why didn't we go after someone better? I recall him being one of the worst rated DBs last year, so I assumed he wouldn't be much of an upgrade.

But man, great heads up play on the TD and the second, which was play of the game IMO, was excellent coverage and reaction. Just sat back and waited. Beautiful!

Liking what he's showing so far. I just hope Toler / Butler can step up when they're back.

I too found Lowery signing underwhelming, but a bit unrealistic wanting and naive thinking about getting a "big time playmaking all pro type". Earl Thomas calibre players don't hit FA. And drafting one is 1/1000000. I'm curious, why even think about this?

He definitely gave the team that extra spark they needed to secure the W today that's for sure...

If he didn't get the game ball, the coaches really need their head checked...

Well I just think having a big time playmaker at safety is vital. Look at the last several SB champs. But the reason I was hoping for a big signing is Devin McCourty was a free agent and I didn't think NE could bring him back. Leading up to FA I was figuring NE would do whatever it took to keep Revis. They couldn't have kept both, but they chose McCourty. So yeah I was thinking McCourty would hit FA.

I thought he played rather well for Atlanta as he was one of the bright spots on a rather poor defense. I can see why he graded out bad for Atlanta as they absolutely had no pass rush last year and coverage was tough for their entire secondary. I thought he was a solid pick up for us this offseason, but I would be lying if I said I expected this much production out of him. I am pleasantly impressed as of right now.

Yeah it's ridiculous. I was under the impression he was 33ish until TC when I looked at his wikipedia page. Lowery could be a legit starter in our system for 4-5 years. Unlike Adams who is 34 and probably has 2 more years max. As for Adams deal it was a 2 year deal.

The guy had one good game.. relax people.

I would rather see Geathers in over Mike Adams though.. The kid is all over the field and just makes plays.

Geathers is going to be a good SS, but right now we need to let him learn and keep Adams out there. Mike Adams is having another really good year so far. If Geathers continues to show he's legit though we should cut Adams to let Geathers start next year. I think Geathers in his 2nd season is going to be a stud.

yeah sorry the Titans aren't on the same level as actual Super Bowl fav teams IMO guess I'm dumb cause I don't put Marioa on a level like say Big Ben and Brady or Manning

No, it's dumb to not give credit to the guy who won us the game and was excellent throughout. It's dumb to crap on a win because it wasn't against a "Super Bowl" level team or it wasn't "pretty" enough.

point is not hoping on the "we are ok cause we won" train when we beat the Titans we still weren't even good today just cause we won that don't mean a thing we still looked god awful

what happened to day was we were just lucky we didn't go 0-3 we didn't really win and made 0 improvements since the first to games same unprepared not ready to play crap luck getting smashed and turning the ball over like its nothing

What happened was we sucked for the first 3 quarters and then clicked and looked like we got something going and now lets look to carry it onto the next game. Contrary to what you seem to believe, improvements can be made.

did we play good today?? Hell no it was the same garbage we seen weeks 1 and 2

We played good in the 4th quarter. Easily the best quarter we have played all season, now the key is to carry that into the next game. What we did weeks 1 and 2 has nothing to do with carrying the 4th quarter performance over into the next game.

Listen, I saw the game. It looked bad, terrible. But we scored 21 points in the 4th quarter and ended the game with more points than the opponent, which means we WON. You're acting like a young spoiled fan.
