missing a kick is a consequence of being human..

missing 90% of all +50yd last 3 years was a consequence of not having a leg, problem solved.

Funny thing is....  I was a kicker with one leg in H.S.  and even though I only tried a few 50+ FG.....  I hit better than that! Lol

I hope you had a leg injury in High School rather than the alternative of only having one leg. If you only have one leg, that's quite an accomplishment to live life with that disability.

Wait until he gets close to the rookie contract end, and he'd be busy with his agent if he's done well upto that point.

And, that'd be the right thing to do.

Contract negotiation, disagreements, holding outs and rumor mill are inevitable.. nothing wrong with that. Part of the game in the business to get themselves paid well.

The whole purpose of an agent, at least a decent competent one, is they do all of that work for their clients. That way he can still be with the fans and community and also get paid.

Was at practice today and I’m a bit more worried about guys like Leonard and Jelani Woods. Woods didn’t practice at all again and was walking a little gingerly around the field. Anyone know an update on him? We need a big play threat at TE and he is it. As for Leonard, I only saw him active when warming up and doing the 1 on 1 drill. Didn’t see him in there at all with the team drills. Are they still taking it slow with him? In 1 on 1 drills, he seemed a bit slow covering his guy. Also hoping the foot injury to Buckner isn’t too serious.

There is 6 weeks before the games that matter are going to be played.  That's plenty of time for these guys to get in game shape.

Shane said in his presser they are taking it cautiously slow with Lenonard.

If Richardson starts week 1 and has a 60% completion rate I think that will be successful. Because with his legs and how he will contribute to the run game that 60% will be good. Richardson doesn’t need to be a 70% passer with that running ability.

I mean he can have 54 percent completion like luck and be successful,  but he has to be clutch and be great at deep passes which he is as far as deep passes go.

If I recall correctly, the QB completion rate in the NFL hovers more or less between 70% (top) and 60% (bottom) on average for a season, so 60% won’t be bad for a player many assume is not really yet ready for the NFL.

Does everything that happens in camp / practice not translate into the game come regular season?

It's why they practice.  Do you think he spent the off season in the back yard kicking field goals?   Every player in the league is knocking the rust off right now.   It's training camp...  emphasis on training

They have practice so players can get accustomed to playing with each other. Like the kicker and holder getting used to each other and the long snapper and the holder getting used to each other. Did you check to see if it may have been a bad snap or a bad hold?

    • Ballard does have thick skin.  You just choose to not to see it that way.      Ballard is the face and voice of the franchise.  Irsay’s health does not make him an effective public face of the franchise.  Frank was OK, Steichen less so.   So Ballard does the lion share of teams PR.    And Ballard has always said he’d rather the fans be angry than be apathetic.  Shows they care.  Of course, you know this but choose not to acknowledge it because it undercuts your distorted view of CB.   I don’t know what CBs relationship is with Kevin Bowen who I like.   So let’s say it’s complicated.   But on balance I think Ballard has a good relationship with the local media.  I’d be surprised if he didn’t.  He is loved by national media.  He’s got a personality and a sense of humor.  I’m sorry you don’t care for it.    Of course you have yet to acknowledge that you and Moose literally said that Ballard didn’t know enough about Mitchell to know if he was a good guy.   For a man in your profession, THAT is a whopper.  Why you thought that is a mystery?   By the way, hope you notice that at least twice I’ve now said you’re smarter than you show.  There’s a compliment in there somewhere if you let yourself see it.    But I think you’ve painted yourself into a corner.  You come across as someone who’d rather be right about Ballard being bad even if it means the Colts do poorly than be wrong and have the Colts do well.    The reason Irsay hasn’t fired Ballard for the teams record is because Irsay approved of what CB was doing in real time.   Believe what you want but Irsay has done the GM job himself so he knows how it goes.  And he has chosen to keep Ballard.  Unless you don’t like Irsay too, you might want to consider that.  Life is more fun being optimistic than negative.     Sorry this went so long.
    • I think it’s backwards.  MPJ is definitely Reggie based on skill set and tendencies.  AD can become Marvin with his explosiveness.   Raimann - I think he’ll be Castonzo.  Ol reliable, underappreciated, majority won’t realize how good he was until he’s gone.   AD - if he becomes what we think he can, Ocho Cinco.  Cocky, competitive, but will perform his butt off and will dance every chance he gets lol   Jelani Woods - Jimmy Graham, fast for his size, walking mismatch.
    • speaking of which, I’m about to win some good money.  I bet that brown would be FMVP, the Celtics would win the series, and it last at least 4 games.
    • more reason to believe that after the top 3 wide receivers, Latu was their guy.  To not accept an offer to move back ONLY 4 spots and gain a top 100 pick is hard to do.  Bet if the rams through in a second instead of a third we might’ve took it.   think about it, if you move back 4 spots you’d still have a shot at one of the two top corners or even Dallas turner.  And we said no thanks, we want Latu.
