So maybe he will be back by week 5? Seems good enough to me

No...Coming back to soon for seahawks week 4 pointless. Then 49ers week 5 should be an easy win for brissett no need to rush Luck back. Week 6 is when you will see luck which is first game against a division team which could very easily mean playoffs. I honestly would rather a losing season and a top 5-10 draft pick because this team needs to recover quickly from the grigson effect. Luck took a team that was way worse than the current team to AFC Championship Game. Luck makes a team that would be top 5 draft pick a 10+ win team. Draft is looking stacked at QB right now could easily make a top 5 draft pick into 2 first round picks. Very doubtful that happens if/when Luck comes back, but also doubtful this team has what it takes to go deep in playoffs. Draft picks are key to getting a better team sooner than later. Now that we have a real GM.

Need him back soon as possible no game is a guaranteed win

Really? Why not go with the best piece of our offense? If he gets hurt then we'll just have to go with our back up (Jacoby). I'm good with that. Lets at least give ourselves the best chance, then fall back on plan B. If Jacoby can survive till week 6 and hopefully secure a few wins. what makes you think our veteran (who's one of the best!) can't survive and get us the the rest wins we need?

Jacoby Brissett is younger healthier and coming from a great football program. Also Ballard traded our former first round draft pick for him. Why not let brissett play for the season he's been playing well!! Let luck heal FULLY and then next year when chucks gone Ballard brings in his guy and gets some more draft picks we can get this thing really moving! What possible good can come from playing Andrew this year?? None.

Sit out for the year Andrew before you get hurt again then it might be permanent.   The team suck right now, wait til you get a new HC(Harbaugh) that will turn this team around...Then maybe you'll taste a little bit of the playoffs.

You do know Andrew has been to the playoffs, right?

Yes they do, they are must wins.

Not saying we will beat the Seahawks, but they haven't exactly been setting the world on fire this year. They are more beatable than usual, IMO. If the Colts play well, we could have a shot. That Seattle offense is pretty bad

Even if luck don't play, I don't think our draft pick will really be all that great, probably lucky if it's in the top 5. we have play makers on this team that's not just gonna lay down to get a to acquired a hirgher draft pick. I have faith that this team will go at least 8-8 with or without luck... to me it's pretty simple, if he's 100%, play him! If he's not.. leave him on the bench till he is 100%.

So we sit him the rest of this year, who's to say he doesn't come out next year and break his arm on the first play? Makes no since to me to sit a perfectly healthy player in fear of him getting hurt or trying to save him for something speacial... a lot of theses guys won't even be here next year. you gotta give it everything you have every game of every year...

I didn't say anything about what spot we'd get in the draft. But barely beating the browns to go 1-2 Id say we have a good start at a top 5 pick race. Either way I do want to see Andrew play of course I just don't see where it would make sense. Why not let him get back and get a whole bunch of snaps and reps and time to get his body at a full 100% and then come into a fresh season and a new beginning. This football team should not be anywhere near postseason action the way it is right now. I just don't see how it would be smart. Also how can you ever say you know for sure he's "perfectly healthy" we all know Andrew will play through anything and not talk about it.

Sorry I've got nothing more, i can't think of one good reason to sit our healthy top 5, 25mill quarterback while it is mathematically possible to make the playoffs, you want to sit him if he's healthy or not?? I don't get it...

its not about that

luck is paid 25 mil a year to play football, so that is what he will do as soon as he is healthy

next year probably wont be a super bowl team either.  how long before you are saying we should tank then too?  what if we go 0-2 the year after that... tank again?

yes I understand the man gets paid.. however he's gone through a lot more to earn that money than a handful of other people around the NFL. And if we go 0-2 with our next coach then I'll eat crow but until then I stand by sitting him for the year.

Jacoby is starting to do really well and is learning the play book and getting his timing down and becoming a quarterback that the colts desperately are in need of right now... so I think it might be best if we put him on the bench so he doesn't get hurt... we can bring in Tolzien to play the rest of the year!! (Joking of course)

I love all there "Put Luck in" posters. As soon as he gets slaughtered by one single play permitted by a cheese cloth OL those same posters will blame Pagano. Brissett 's mobility and so far solid arm could keep this team afloat and "afloat" is the best the 2017 Colts will experience.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is close to a return to the field and has not been ruled out as a participant in practice later this week, a league source confirmed to IndyStar.

The team’s franchise player also has been working with a therapist who helped New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees after his own shoulder surgery, and has seen results.

The news is the clearest sign yet that Luck is nearing a return after his January surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder.

UPDATES: Tracking Andrew Luck's progress

The Colts played their third consecutive regular-season game without Luck on Sunday, beating the Cleveland Browns 31-28 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

When Luck does return to practice, he’s expected to need significant practice time before taking the field in a game. The Colts play at Seattle next Sunday in a nationally-televised matchup. The team returns home in Week 5 for a game against the San Francisco 49ers, at which former quarterback Peyton Manning will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor.

If we can win today and just be 2-3 going into that game, we have a chance to do something. We need to win today, cant go 0-3.

I've been saying the same thing.  Beat the Browns(check) and beat the 49ers(which is realistic).  If they somehow pull off a crazy upset against the Seahawks I'd be ok with that too!  I hope that game isn't another let down game.

Exactly, if they can be 2-3 going into the game vs the Titans, they have a shot with Luck back.  They got past the Browns, there playing with house money Sunday vs Seattle, it'd be sick if they somehow upset them but I don't see it happening, like you said got a beat SF in a few weeks at home which is doable.

It'd be nice but theirs no way he'll make it back for that one.  He'll have to practice for at least a week or two before playing in my opinion.  I think he'll be listed as out as early as tomorrow.  We'll see though.

Who is advocating he come back before he is healthy?

Keep Luck away from the 49ers game.

Peyton's 2013 game at Lucas Oil Stadium, Reggie Wayne goes down. Peyton's 2015 game at Lucas Oil Stadium, Luck has a lacerated kidney. Peyton came back for the SB 41 team re-union during the 2016 Titans game, Luck has a concussion and misses the next game vs Steelers.

Please keep Luck away from Lucas Oil Stadium when Peyton is here. :)

The OL protected Jacoby fairly well yesterday IMO....of course Cleveland has no real pass rush so maybe that isn't a good barometer for where the OL is at....but two weeks in a row our QB has had pretty good time to throw the football. If Luck's shoulder is healthy he should play. If we try to wait until the OL is "fixed" Luck would probably never play another down again. Next week will be a big test...lets see how the line does in that crazy environment.

I'll be at that game....I'm selfishly pulling for Luck to be back. It would make the drive up a whole lot more fun knowing we might see the team at full strength.

I am still unsure if you are a troll or just the worst Colts fan I have seen on here.  Majority negative only it is crazy!

I will be on record saying that I want Luck to play and that is it.  He is our FRANCHISE player who makes a lot of money.  He gives us the best chance to win and he has to PLAY for that to happen.  It is football and a lot of teams have bad lines.  Tell Russell Wilson to sit out, or Eli Manning, or Drew Brees, or Phillip Rivers.  It is a physical sport...that means there is contact.  Oh and I am not sure if you know this but Luck is mobile as well.  Every time a QB runs and makes great plays it is awesome, but there are times they take contact.  Are we a SB team this year, I do not believe so, but "afloat" would be something I could label the Jets or Browns.  When healthy we are still an formidable team.

"we are still a formidable team"......like we have been the past two seasons? Luck played with an injured shoulder and where did he end up? The Colts are not a good team.

The last two years we were .500 and in the middle of the league.  So yes I would say we were good but not great.  We had a bad roster and this year we have a better roster.  We have a lot of injuries and the key piece not playing in Luck.  So now we are a "formidable team" because we have a lot of random guys playing due to injuries.
