With Harrison being brought in last year Hankins moved to DE and away from his natural position.  Consequently had a so so year. He was my 1st. choice and still is.

Mewhort played and practiced with Hankins at OSU.

So I was wondering if Ballard/Pagano talked to him to get his opinion on Hankins, good or bad.  I know it will never come out if it was negative feedback, but it's something I could see happening that would effect managements decision.

Wonder if we're in play for Toney-Coleman. Read a tweet that 4 teams were interested but vikings were the only one named

What about davon house? Havent seen, any of these guys. Any opinions on if theyd be worth pursuing?

Keep in mind both were rrleased so won't affect compensatory picks, though I doubt we'll be in line to receive much of anything anyway.

As of right now, we're at a negative for comp picks. We've signed 4 qualifying free agents (Locke, Simon, Sheard, Mingo), and have only lost 2 (Adams, Kerr).

Assuming we don't sign anymore qualifying free agents, but we're reportedly hosting Minter now, and still in the mix for Poe.

And in order to be eligible for a comp pick, you have to have lost more than you signed, so being even doesn't help. We'd need to sign 4, but lose 5. And then, the question is the value of the contracts for the players, and how they perform next season.

We're most likely not getting a comp pick in 2018, but I think we all knew that already.

Robey-Coleman has allowed a qb rating of 16.7 on throws into his coverage. Best of any CB. Impressive..

Do you follow the team much?

Moncrief played in ALL 16 games his first two years...    and he missed 7 games last year with a BROKEN SHOULDER.        That doesn't make him a guy with a health problem, or being "nicked up"...

Moncrief has no attitude problems.     Where do you get this stuff?

And when he's played,  he's been productive.

He's going to be paid and he's going to be paid by the Colts.      Be prepared to be disappointed.

Did some research because your comments about not following the team bothered me.

Donte Moncrief in the 16-17 season had surgery because of turf toe in the offseason, was limited multiple weeks with hamstring issues, and eventually was sidelined by his shoulder fracture.

Maybe do some research before you call me out again.

Why do I have to do research on that?

-- Had off-season surgery.....      did you not see the words "off-season"?    If it doesn't impact his season,  then who cares?

-- Limited multiple weeks with hamstring issues....    did you not understand that he played despite not being 100%?    That's a good thing.

-- sidelined by a shoulder fracture?      Did you not understand nobody plays with a shoulder fracture?

Sorry,  but It would help if you understood the very nature of football....

I stated he was not very healthy. Showing up continually on the injury report would indicate that. Also not being 100% limits your effectiveness.

You were wrong.  Get over it

Do you know how much performance plays a role?  For example, if we sign 4 and lose 3 (adding in Walden), but the 4 we sign have a combined 10 sacks and 4 INTs whereas the ones we lose somehow manage a combined 7 INTs and 15 sacks, would we still get a comp pick?  Or is number added and lost the most significant factor?

I don't think its performance based.

I am not really sure but I just found info that says it is based on Salary/Playing Time/ and Postseason Honors but don't tell anyone because it is secret

In other words, there is no exact formula for it.  Nice...

My understanding is that performance does play a role.  I'm just not sure how much

I doubt performance plays a huge role.  Wasn't there a player a few years back that was a free agent from New England that was signed by another team, then released mid season and picked up by New England.  And New England still received a comp pick based on the contract that player received from the other team?

I do not. The league office has never released any kind of formula. It's easy enough to compare what teams gain or lose, and look at the differences in contract value, etc. I believe part of the rule is that a player has to last on his new roster past Week 10 to be a qualifying player, and I believe that awards play a factor as well (two players with the same contract, but one goes to the Pro Bowl, the Pro Bowler will probably be slotted higher than the non Pro Bowler).
