Yeah, I agree

Move forward with Boom & Tipton

Accept the loss with the Richardson trade, I'm done defending him. 3rd string RB looks better than a 1st round pick? What world does that happen in?

In this one which the 3rd string guy is pretty darn fast, and good at what he does. The only knock on Boom is those fumbles which need to be cleaned up.

You can teach ball security, you can't teach vision.

Boom needs ball security classes

Richardson needs a class on how to deal with unemployment cause he'll be there soon. He's got to go

Richardson will be here through his rookie contract because they don't have to pay the guy a whole hell of a lot, and in the open he is able to pick up yards. He lacks the ability to run behind this o-line... when guys like Boom can. I think I'd rather just use Richardson as the back on passing downs, or at the goal line. Although Pep loves him so no back set down there which drives me nuts.

I didn't see the game today, but it looks like more of the same for Richardson and a nice day of running for Boom.

But yes, the fumbles area huge thing. He needs to clean that up or he won't be on the field much. I think he definitely can, but he must.

Another factor to be considered is how well he is in pass protection. I have seen so little of him I don't know. TRich is decent so if Boom is bad in that area he may need to work on that before we can trust him with the keys.

I must say, I'm having a harder time defending him as well. Yes our line isn't great, but every back we use with him is running better then him. Maybe time to give Herron more attention in practice, run him with the first team so he starts to improve in other areas of the game quicker.

I think we can all agree that we have seen all that we are going to see from Richardson. He isn't explosive, doesn't have great vision, but is a heck of a pass blocker. Is that good enough?

Not for a 1st round draft pick, and not for our starting RB.

Handoffs to Richardson have become a liability. He hardly gains any yards and consistently puts the offense in unmanageable situations.

He's bad. I heard his combine run was 4.4 but he runs way slower than that.

He didn't run at the combine....   he ran at his Pro Day and those are very different.

Combine equals laser timed,  computer timed.     Pro Day equals hand time.

They adjust about .07 for that.

And he's much slower today than he was at his Pro Day.

Honestly,  if you look at his video from Cleveland,  he's slower today than he was with the Browns.

Ah, my mistake. I knew he ran 4.4 sometime. Its hard to believe. I'm not sure if he's ever looked that fast in Indy.

Totally agree.  Pep wastes way too many first downs with TR only getting 1 or 2 yards, it hasn't worked most of the year and consistently puts Luck in tough situations.

Richardson is possibly the worst runner I've ever seen at this level.  Every back I can recall the Colts bringing in, be it someone off the street or out of the CFL has looked better.

You want a series of downs to go nowhere?  Hand it to Richardson on 1st down.  If you are absolutely determined to see a series of downs go nowhere, give it to him on 1st and 2nd down.

In the future NFL Network will have a "Top 10 Worst Trades of All Time" and the Trent Richardson trade will likely be pretty high.

It sucks to think what that pick may have been.

It's not only that.  His performance and the reliance on him has really hurt this team over the past two years.  Relying on him has consistently put us in 2nd and 3rd and long, where teams can tee off at Luck.  And last year following the trade, it consistently put us down by 2-3 TDs every week.

It needs to end.
