November 13 Injury Report

I wonder if Vontae will show up this week? He hasn't looked good since Toler went down. Coincidence...??

Having Cassius Vaughn as your CB partner will lower your confidence

We were balling with Davis, Toler, & Butler as the starting 3. Now that Greg Toler is out, Davis & Butler haven't been the same

:sigh:

I have seen nothing at all about that big hit Walen took in the last game, wonder he if plays this game?

If he was in any way, shape, or form hurt he would be on the injury report. NFL teams always err on the side of extreme caution when listing injuries.

Whalen probably had a stinger. No big deal.

Toler was signed because Powers couldn't stay healthy. Doesn't appear to be much of upgrade injury wise.

Meh...

I am pretty sure he got hurt in the Broncos game where it seemed like DB's were goin down like flies, but did a pretty stellar job of shuttin Peyton down, at least enough to get the win...

He gets a pass in my book, if he can get an extra week of rest/rehab in & show up for the Arizona game to help make sure Fitz doesn't gash us like Andre & Tavon have, then I think it's all good...

You guys did notice McGlynn missed much of Sundays game with a broken thumb and the line was worse without him right? I am all for replacing him with someone better but that's why he's starting we don't have someone better.

I was thinking something along these lines.  It's not like we have a better player behind him that the coach stubbornly won't play ahead of McGlynn because he has a huge man crush on McGlynn.

Hopefully we will get a better player to replace him in the off season.  Until then I think we are stuck with McGlynn as the best player available at the position.

I disagree. We couldn't run all game, but the pass protection got better when McGlynn went out. I'm not endorsing anyone else on the roster to take his place, just saying that I don't think the line got worse without him.

it didn't get better either. Honestly I think the pass protection got worse too. My main point is that either way we don't have some significantly better we are just not playing.

Maybe not. But the guys who are playing aren't playing well enough to discourage trying someone else in the lineup. If not for McGlynn's broken hand, I think we should be playing him at center, and shuffle the guards. Alas...

Either way, I get what you're saying. I think the frustration is that Satele is playing poorly, and McGlynn seems to be much better at center than right guard. Yet we keep starting Satele.

    • Definitely. He said the same things last year that he said this year in defending AD. He just didn't name the player he was talking about. I think QBs were the topic, so it could have applied to Levis or Stroud, but it was obvious he was talking about Stroud.   This year, some agencies advised their clients not to take the S2 test. That's about all I remember about it. I think the cognitive testing process has some image rehab to do, and if they can keep scores and results out of the public sphere, that's a good start for them.
    • He’s not wrong.  Stroud was getting killed based on doing poorly on the new test to measure mental aptitude.   Strictly on that basis it was good to see Stroud succeed.      PS —. Speaking of that test, did we hear anything about that in the 2924 draft?   I didn’t read a single story about it.   Did you?
    • Go to about the 23 minute mark if you want to hear. Below is from the Youtube transcript:   one of the things I struggle with is spend so much time tearing down 23:29 19 20 21 year old kids with unnamed sources in the media that just I mean 23:36 why like wh why just I don't understand where the benefit is in that and if I 23:45 think if you go back in history and you look at the guy some of the guys that have been ripped apart and tore down um 23:51 some of them have been really successful I look I went off the year before about CJ stra with CJ and people were killing 23:58 killing him over a over over a test and I mean he he debunked that pretty 24:06 quickly
    • I was always told, "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all". If Ballard said anything nice about Reich, he was wrong.
    • His injury story is probably one of the saddest stories in the league. I am sure he misses playing like crazy. Just goes to show take advantage while your playing because you never know when it will end.  To have the game you love taken away so abruptly is very sad. I am sure he will end up in tv at some point.
