Mail the refs their rings Baltimore

Blah!!!!

I am so freaking upset, I cannot think straight.

Yes, the 49ers was a no show during the first half - I waived the white flag.

But they were right in the game; 5 freaking yards.  Bad play calls and bad no calls :(

Missed offsides by Ed Reed

5 yard penalty when it should have been 15 yard..1st down.

Jules - Today proved that Kaepernick is more than just a fancy QB.. The kid impressed me. The 49ers were getting punched and he punched right back.  He is a great QB and what an arm and accuracy.

NO PI called on the Ravens.  Really?

Yep. What a waste. They should have tried it again but nope...all throws to the same darn spot in the endzone three times. Had me banging my head on the wall.

The wasted time-out early on was HUGE.

The terrible redzone play-calls at the end by the 9ers was HUGE.

Getting behind by 22 points in the first half was HUGE.

But yeah......people talking about power failures and rigged games, they can take that noise right on outta here.

yes and the controversy could have been avoided if the correct calls were made, yeah u cant rely on the refs, but the niners were making a comeback and yes kap overthrew crabtree, but he couldnt get to the ball cause he was heldand i just hate that a trams ends the game by giving their opponents 2 points, seems kinda lame and cheesy to me

I thought taking the safety was smart and couldn't understand why Simms was against it

They made sure they sent both of them out the door with a ring. The 2005 Steelers were totally out matched in that game. They would have lost that Super Bowl 21-14 if the refs didn't totally screw over Seattle. Tonight I have seen enough to confirm my suspicions that the NFL wanted to send Lewis out with another ring. The Niners got screwed really bad on that 4th and goal play. Well all night long to be exact, the Ravens got away with holding

When you say "the NFL" wanted to send Lewis out with another ring , could you be more specific. Who makes the decision. Is it just the game referees getting togther and fixing the game. Does it start at the commisioners office and get passed down ? Just give me an idea of who the "NFL" is that made this decision and if it's not the game officials , how does this get passed down to the guys that make the bad calls ? Then explain why after all these years of the NFL fixing SB's , that one of these referees doesn't sell the story for millions.

I was expecting a comeback ala 49ers/Falcons but the Ravens were determined men...Harbaugh was gambling with another timeout when he challenged that first down by Boldin, fortunately for him he won that one...and then of course the delay of game timeout didn't help things either. The refs didn't help things in my opinion, but I'm not going to get into that lol.

That early time out was gigantic, but the game was poorly mismanaged when the Niners got inside the 10.

I didn't understand the logic of not taking a TO on the 4th down play. If Jim was planning on saving it in case they didn't get the score, why not make sure you keep both TOs? Seemed far too rushed for my tastes.

I was most suspicious about the lights out period that gave the 49ers the momentum and made the older Ravens seem to freeze up. That was the only real thing that made me go OoooOooooo.

I felt Baltimore deserved to win. There will always be a few bad calls in every game too.

I usually agree with you Bogie but I don't think I do here. I am not a big fan of Ray Lewis the person here either but I honestly think this game was on the QBs and Flacco did deliver again IMO. Flacco has been flat out money this postseason.

yeah if u think it was rigged cause of a power failure lol. the only thing that did was make me eat and drink more, both teams experienced the delay, no one was at an advantage

Not rigged. Questionable. Sure.

The refs let them play for the most part the entire game. Had they called that in the 2nd qt, I think a bigger deal can be made of it.

However, without lookin at the tape I feel there were about 4 plays where the ravens seemed to jump off sides early in the game. 1st qt maybe?

And somehow that massive brawl at the beg of the game result in no penalties, or ejections, which is crazy. Had that been week 7, players are gone.

I don't think he expected the Ravens to spend as much time as they did doing it...if they had taken a knee or the punter had gotten hit earlier than expected who knows, seven seconds left...Ginn Jr. could have worked his magic or gotten out of bounds close enough for Akers to hit a game-tying field goal.

I'm sorry you are upset. But, at least it was a great game. It was like two games in one. I hated that the lights had to go out though since I wish the game could have kept going without that lay off.

But, yeah I am too tough on Kaep I think.

it was definatly the smart thing to do, but as a fans view it just is the kind of play ur like, really they are just gonna take a safety to end it? and theres no way it should have eaten up 8 seconds, and then we go back to the no holding call

Because there's no way the Ravens should've been able to consume over 8 seconds with that.

Still, I would rather kick off from the 20 than punt from my endzone, especially after the punter had muffed a point earlier in the half

I would also point out the deep route drops by both Crabtree and Davis that hit them in the hands. Boldin DID NOT make that mistake. The better team won.

Oh....and big props to our ostracized ex-HC MR Jim Caldwell for a brilliantly called game. He stomped his SF counterpart in the play-calling department.

as for the brawl, one of the ravens pushed a ref almost to the ground, he should have been penalized or even thrown out, theres no excuse for that, superbowl or not

The Colts-Saints Super Bowl was rigged then.

That one definitely was because of Katrina (the best story line) and a few other things also no doubt about it.... This was a pretty well officiated game for the most part unless your a 49ers fan. I saw lots of calls they didn't call on both team because they were trying to let them play for the most part.

boldin should have got mvp, he makes flacco look good, flacco is overrated

I think there were some missed calls probably from both sides if you watch it over carefully.

But, my headache I think started when the lights went out and then I felt like we were starting a second game almost LOL. Really this game was nuts. Crazy stuff.........

I am happy for Jim Caldwell though for some odd reason. WTG Jim!!! Sorry Captain Comeback, I am sure you will get back again though...

Ah I forgot about that too..that seems so long ago with the delay.

why did he not get ejected or penalized?

Idk...someone should ask John Harbaugh what he thinks about this in the post game presser. The NFL is definitely going to have to address this as well.

I think the biggest tragedy of this game was I had to see Beyoncé shake her privates on my tv for at least 20 minutes and trying to turn on most of America in some strange lingerie looking dominatrix leotard. And then have to see/hear that awful Charlie Angels song from that movie many years ago about being an independent woman who buys her own bling.

The last play of a contact past the 5 was a good NO CALL...they were both jockeying each other and that ball was no way catachable and if he would have caught it he would have been way out of bounds...it wouldn't have even been close to becoming a touchdown.

GOOD NO CALL!

I think it's crazy people think it's rigged and such...it just goes to show that many people believe that our world is so crooked and corrupt..and for some part that is true..and for others not so much.

The 49ers lost the game in the 1st half but almost won it in the second.  2 calls that would have decided the game are of course the hold on Jimmy Smith and the BLATANT hold on that punt/safety.

Do I think their was a fix, no.  Do I think this is one of the worst officiated games ever, YES!

It's unfortunate that the comeback came up short, but keep this in mind:

1. the 49ers didn't play at all in the first half.  To win, you need to play a complete game.  They didn't.

2. Flacco was ballin'.  He played very well tonight and all of these playoffs

3. Culliver was brutal in today's game and the 49ers secondary had lots of trouble stopping Boldin

4. the 49ers offensive playcalling was bad.  They went to Crabtree three times in a row on that last drive.  You have big guys like Moss and Davis, plus you have Kaepernick, James, and Gore who can run the read option very well.  Poor playcalling.

Women only have value if they're sexy and half naked. That's what I took from it....well...that and the slutty Two Broke Girls commercial right afterward.

I find the way women are portrayed on television to be disgraceful.

Jules mentioned Taylor Swift earlier ....notice how her talent overshadows any need to strip down to her underwear. Truly talented singers can do just as well fully clothed.

Really my point was to show contrast between how the winning team made plays while the losing team failed repeatedly. Those drops, whether directly consequential or not, signified much to me about whom was the better team.

WHat a joke thread.

Just because the 49ers lost, doesn't mean the game was rigged. Only one of your facts was actually correct and that was the Kaepernick facemask. Besides that, I think Boger and the boys called a very good game.

    • Greg Cosell's scouting report on Adonai Mitchell:   STRENGTHS: - Tall wide receiver who predominantly lined up outside in Texas' offense and showed some shake and burst. - Size and stride length are positive defining traits. Covered ground with good play speed and swift fluid movement. - He showed build-up and acceleration speed off the ball when he had free access to challenging corners with stride length. - Smooth mover for his size. Works the middle effectively with in-breaking routes and making hands catches. - High percentage of inside routes came on speed cuts rather than throttling down and getting in and out of breaks. - Reps in which he showed a sense of attacking corners and then lateral quickness to win at the top of his route stem. - At times, he showed a wide catch radius with a strong grip to snatch the ball away from his frame. - There were snaps in which he showed excellent short-area burst and quickness to defeat press coverage. - Showed some run-after-catch juice with quickness, burst and competitive toughness. Physical presence.   WEAKNESSES: - An outside finesse receiver who ran a specific route tree at Texas. Did not often attack and break down corners. - The 2023 tape did not show much versatility to his game. An outside receiver who did not run multiple routes.   BOTTOM LINE: "Given his meaningful improvement throughout the 2023 season, Mitchell is one of the more intriguing wide receiver prospects in the 2024 draft. Mitchell possesses outstanding size and a strong, solid frame. He consistently showed outstanding hands and the ability to catch the ball easily away from his frame."
    • Rodney Thomas II is our starter and he was drafted in 7th round out of Yale. Seems none of our LBs were early round selections...  So I wouldn't be surprised if upgrades can still be found in these later rounds.
    • I thought Glowinski was serviceable.
    • Dane Brugler's scouting report on Adonai Mitchell in his draft guide:   6. ADONAI MITCHELL | Texas 6022 | 205 lbs. | 3JR Missouri City, Texas (Cane Ridge) 10/8/2002 (age 21.55) #5   BACKGROUND: Adonai (ADD-an-I) “AD” Mitchell, the youngest of four boys, was born and raised in Missouri City (20 miles southwest of Houston). His mother (Darcy Padgett), a former model, and father (Norman Mitchell), a former stand-up comedian and actor, moved to Houston in 2000 and founded the Bee Busy Wellness Center, a nonprofit organization geared towards low-income individuals and families. In pee-wee and youth football, Mitchell was the kid with the ball in his hands and primarily played quarterback. His older brothers played basketball, but after trying it for two years, Mitchell decided that sport wasn’t for him. He spent his freshman year of high school at Westbury Christian School (a private school in Houston), and the coaches kept him at quarterb ack. To raise his recruiting profile, Mitchell transferred to Ridge Point High School (class 6A school in Fort Bend County) prior to his sophomore season and moved to wide receiver. As a junior in 2018, he earned second team All-District honors with 25 receptions for 378 yards and nine offensive touchdowns (five rushing, three receiving, one passing). He helped Ridge Point to a 10-2 record and the 2018 district championship. With Mitchell still struggling to garner recruiting attention, his father moved to the Nashville area for a year so his son could train with Buck Fitzgerald at the National Playmakers Academy. Mitchell transferred to Cane Ridge High School in Antioch, Tenn., for his senior season in 2019. After filling in at quarterback for the first three games, he moved back to wide receiver and led the team with 49 catches for 795 yards and 11 touchdowns. Mitchell helped Cane Ridge to a 9-4 record and state playoff appearance, and he was named the 2019 Region 5 -6A Athlete of the Year.   A four-star recruit, Mitchell was the No. 63 wide receiver in the 2021 recruiting class and the No. 10 recruit in Tennessee. He was originally in the 2020 recruiting class but decided to reclassify to the 2021 class and spent the ‘20 season training. After moving to Tennessee for his senior season, Mitchell attended several recruiting camps and received his first FBS offers (Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee). He picked up an offer from Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin in January 2020 and committed a few months later. However, Mitchell continued receiving offers (Auburn and Texas) and taking visits. In July 2020, he flipped his commitment to Georgia and former offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Mitchell enrolled early and was the No. 16 recruit in head coach Kirby Smart’s 2021 class (top receiver in the class). His daughter (Icylinn) was born in the summer of 2021, and Mitchell’s parents have been raising her while Mitchell has been i n school. After two national championships in two seasons in Athens, Mitchell entered the portal with the intention of moving closer to his daughter, and he transferred to Texas — a two-hour car ride away. After one season in Austin, Mitchell elected to skip his senior season and enter the 2024 NFL Draft.   STRENGTHS: Long, limber and loose athlete … long-striding acceleration to quickly reach his top speed … light-footed and fluid in his releases and at the top of routes to stem his way over the top of corners (see his stutter-and-go touchdown vs. Alabama in 2023) … able to gear down on command to drive corners off the route and give his quarterback a clean target … flashes extra juice when the ball is in the air … able to high point with outstanding body control for in-air adjustments … tracks the ball into his hands (one drop over the last two seasons) … grew up competing with three older brothers, and his toughness stands out on tape … al ways looking for someone to block … led the Big 12 in touchdowns in 2023 … competes with big-play swagger and has a history of clutch touchdowns in his team’s most important games (caught the go-ahead touchdown in Georgia’s 2021 national title victory).   WEAKNESSES: Owns a modest build with lean features and stringy muscle tone … below-average play strength, and physical defensive backs will give him trouble early and late in the route … catch radius casts a wide net, but he has smallish hands and doesn’t always play strong to the football (caught just four contested balls in 2023) … his route running loses rhythm at times, and he needs to be more consistently deliberate with each step … averaged just 3.2 YAC in 2023 and is not known for his creativity or ability to break tackles after the catch … wasn’t a high-volume target in college (three or fewer catches in 10 of his 14 games at Texas) … missed most of the 2022 season at Georgia because of a high left ankle sprain (September 2022).   SUMMARY: A one-year starter at Texas, Mitchell was an outside wide receiver in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s spread, RPO offense. After helpi ng Georgia win a pair of national championships, he transferred to Texas (to be closer to his daughter) and helped the Longhorns reach the College Football Playoffs. He also became just the fifth player in Texas history with 11 touchdown grabs in a single season. Despite some wasted movements in his routes that need to be tightened up, Mitchell cleanly accelerates/decelerates at will with the fluid movement skills to create separation out of his breaks (his 81.8 percent first down/touchdown rate in 2 023 was the best among the receivers in this draft class). Though not the strongest player through contact, he has the hand-eye coordination and pliable frame to adjust, high point and reach throws most receivers cannot. Overall, Mitchell needs to become a more detail-focused receiver to fully unlock his talent, but he has the body length, loose athleticism and catch-pointskills to be a chain-moving weapon. He projects as a rangy, outside-the-numbers target with the lean, limber body type reminiscent of the late Chris Henry.   GRADE: 1st-2nd Round (No. 33 overall)
