Welcome back to Indianapolis Colts football, Colts fans! :) Our 1- 2 Colts return back to game action this afternoon from their earliest bye week in franchise history, and for the rest of the 2012 regular season as they host the 2-2 Green Bay Packers. Packers are the third NFC North Divisional opponent the Colts are facing in 4 games and 5 weeks, and also is the homecoming of former Colts player and fan favorite center Jeff Saturday. Saturday, who now does the snaps for Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, will be in the opposing team's locker room at LOS for the first time in his 14-year career.

Colts record following their bye week is currently 13-10, their last win by the score of 30-17 over the Houston Texans, after their bye week back on Monday Night, November 1, 2010. Colts unfortunately lost their last game after their by week to Cam Newton, and the Carolina Panthers 27-19, back on November 27, 2011 at LOS.

Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will lead the Colts as the Head Coach, relieving Chuck Pagano, who is recovering from leukemia, and all of us wish Coach Pagano a quick and safe recovery. This afternoon's game will be Arian's first-ever game as an NFL Head Coach after serving as an assistant coach in both the college and pro level in his 20-year coaching career.

Both the Colts and Packers are playing in their sixth stadium venue in the regular season series history, a rivalry that started when Green Bay unfortunately defeated, and swept both regular season games of , the then-Baltimore Colts in their inaugural season in 1953. Packers first defeated the Colts 37-14 at City Field on October 18, and later defeated the Colts again at Memorial Stadium 35-24 in Baltimore two weeks later, on October 31, 1953.

Colts and Packers have played at Green Bay's City Field and Lambeau Field, Milwaukee County Stadium, Baltimore Memorial Stadium, Indianapolis's Hoosier/RCA Dome, and Green Bay's first visit ever this afternoon at LOS.

A win by Indianapolis would tie the all-time regular season series currently deadlocked at 20-20-1. Packers defeated the Colts in their last meeting 34-14 at Lambeau Field back on October 19 , 2008. Colts, however, defeated the Packers in their last visit to Indianapolisby the score of 45-34, more than eight years ago at the RCA Dome back on September 26, 2004.

Coach veteran receiver Reggie Wayne has an opportunity to reach many Colts franchise milestones this afternoon if Colts rookie QB Andrew Luck throws passes to him. Wayne needs at least one catch to accomplish catching one reception in 100 consecutive games, two touchdowns to passUniversity Of Miami teammate Edgerrin James (75) to reach third on the franchise list, 64 yards from scrimmage to pass James (12,065) for No. 2 in Colts team history, and seven receptions to pass Keenan McCardell at 883 receptions, No. 14 in NFL history.

Colts have already have three different receivers top 100 yards or more in the first three games of the regular season since 1967. Green Bay is also one of five teams Colts LB Dwight Freeney has yet to record a sack, and he has not played since Game 1, because of a sprained ankle.

Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick will announce the live TV game commentary, along with sideline reporter Laura Okmin for the NFL On FOX, , seen regionally in Indiana, Kentucky, the Midwest and Rockies, and locally at Indianapolis on WXIN FOX 59 on HD.

Bob Lamey, our 'Voice Of The Colts,' will also announce the live radio game play-by-play, along with game analyst Will Wolford, and sideline reporter Kevin Lee, simulcast both on Colts flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio 1070AM and WLHK 97.1FM, and the Colts/Vectren Radio Network.

Gametime decision by the stadium staff if LOS's retractable roof will be open or closed for this afternoon's 1:05PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, because although the local forecast at the LOS stadium area in Downtown Indianapolis is sunny and clear, the fall/autumn season temperature will make the gametime temperature at 48 degrees, feels like 54 degrees, 52% humidity, 10% precipitation, and west/northwest winds at 10 miles per hour.

Colts will wear their blue jerseys and white pants on the field today, while the visiting Packers will wear their white jerseys, and yellow pants.

All NFL teams, including both the Colts and Packers players, and their coaching and team support staffs on the sidelines, are wearing pink NFL equipment apparel and accessories throughout October, to recognize the NFL's annual support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

NO injuries to both the Colts and Packers, and wish interim Head Coach Arians, Andrew, Reggie, and the rest of the Colts players great Luck (no pun intended) as the Colts win their first game in October, and also try to win their second game of the season, and spoil Jeff Satuday's return to Indianapolis. Let's also see the Colts defy the Packers as being the 6 1/2 favorite's to win this afternoon's game. We are 'Colts Strong.' LET'S GO COLTS!!!!! :cheer::D :ribbon: :helmet::coltslogo::coltshorse::colts::coltsfb::1colts::blueshoe::cheer:

My company just left, and just read the weekly Game Day Thread. Thanks as always to LucasOilStadium for bringing us a great thread.

Let us urge on the Colts to "put a hat on em" just as Coach Pagano would want 'us' to do. Go Colts! Go Chuck! We will all fight fight fight! I cannot wait to hear Lucas Oil rocking and rolling. Win or lose....lets play with heart and focus!!! :coltshelmet::coltslogo::coltshorse::coltsfb::colts: :colts: :colts: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • For your consideration….   Nobody knew who Ebukam was when the Colts signed him week 2 last year.   And nobody knew who Denico Autry was when the Colts signed him in week 2.   “Who?” Was the most popular comment both times.  They turned out really well.      Im not sayin Ballard is going to do it again this year, it hasn’t happened every year, all I’m saying it’s happened from time to time so it’s still possible that CB will find a keeper that people here will like.
    • Could he do it?  Sure, but it is much tougher for him than most owners in the NFL.  The Colts just layed out $200 million this free agency.  I imagine over half in guaranteed money.  That’s a lot for Jim.
    • With all that said...
    • Spending doesn't mean you will win. You still need to spend smart and you still need to draft well and overall make good decisions.    Not spending limits you in your roster construction. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand. The best teams in the league use ALL available avenues for improving their team. They do not limit themselves artificially with what's possible to achieve. They also concentrate resources into windows of contention. This means at any given time, if you are not spending you are competing against teams that are pouring resources into trying to win it RIGHT NOW. You will just always be at disadvantage because while 1 specific team will need to reload and take their lumps for spending too much in short period of time once in a while, the league as a whole will always have at least a few teams that are in that high spending mode chasing a window for contention.    Now... is it possible you strike gold and beat those teams while relying almost exclusively on the draft? It's possible. If you string together a few insane draft classes. But it's not very likely...
    • This gets peddled like it means spending in FA doesn’t work. The Rams won a Super Bowl by spending. The Colts don’t spend and haven’t won bupkis since Ballard got here.    I’m not saying the Colts should just spend mindlessly and I don’t think that’s what anyone wants. But, Ballard’s gotta cover his draft misses by spending in FA otherwise we’ll never win with him at the helm.
