My short summary: 

 

Likes:

- Coach! I said it last week and I will say it again - I love a coach who will go the extra mile trying to help his team win. I love how him and the rest of the coaching staff has turned a souless bunch last year into this hyper competitive team in just a few short months. I don't know if it's honeymoon period or what but I am never thinking and worrying about the playcall like I used to with Frank. 

- I loved the defense! The Ravens had troubles with injuries at OL and our DL did what they were supposed to do with that - dominated. AGAIN! And this time the DBs played solid football too. I thought Blackmon in particular was a stand out. He made a lot of plays around the LoS. Brents had a great debut in the league too. Speed, Franklin, Leonarrd... solid. Overall... very very good game as a whole by the D. 

- Pittman and Downs. Reliable! Even Pierce made a play or two. 

- Moss - is he JT? No! Is he perfectly serviceable starting RB who should make you stick to your guns about JT's contract - absolutely. When you can have a Moss type for the league minimum, why would anyone pay 15M for Taylor. And Moss actually caught a wheel route for a TD. Does JT catch that? 

- Matt Gay > Justin Tucker. Well that's not a sentence I thought I would utter ever...

 

Dislikes

- the OL depth is questionable. But we knew that already and it's showing. We allowed pressure but IMO the bigger problems were with diagnosing and picking up blitzes rather than with our regular pass protection. Maybe Kelly's absence was felt here and Minshew didn't do good enough job replacing him in that role. No idea how you get beat 3 times in 30 minutes on the same blitz by the same player. And then they started doubling Hamilton... why? The problem on the first 3 was not that he beat anybody - it's that he was a free rusher not picked by anybody. 

- I still feel like outside of kicking, our STs need a lot of work. Both in coverage and in punting and in returning... McKenzie made another bad decision on the one he let go to the 2nd yard... seemed like he was afraid to not make a mistake on the catch and just let it go. 

 

Great win! This team has a certain spirit and juice about it that I love. They look like a team that's actually trying to win and believes they can win. Good job by the coaching staff and the players.

Right.  I still can't figure out why they didn't kick the 62 yarder.  I know they were worried about giving the Colts great field position, but I thought for sure they were going to kick it.

Jay Feely said we should have gone for it on 4th and 7 at midfield on our  second(?) drive. Guys a buffoon, it's no wonder he's on the CBS F squad.

It’s tough to judge the colts receivers when they have a career backup and rookie that only played one year in college as their qb! I have a feeling they would look a lot better if the colts had a top 10 qb. There is a reason qb’s are by far the highest payed players in the nfl!

IF Pierce doesn't pan out (I'm not saying that he won't), Downs might make a solid #2 in the long run if he keeps improving.  The only issue is that he's a slot guy and I believe that's all he's played.  Is it easy to convert from primarily a slot receiver to a wideout?

I did too. I was happy because he just missed one and he never misses 2 in a row.

She did a MNF game a couple of years ago and then I think started with CBS last year.  She’s okay.  It was mostly Feely that made me roll my eyes.

He came up short on the 61 yarder at the end of regulation.  He’s getting older and it wasn’t inside it was outside in bad weather.  A lot harder to kick for distance which makes what Gay did that more impressive.

I think Downs is at his best right where he is, in the slot.  Nothing wrong with that.  stokley had a nice long and productive career being a slot WR.

Yeah I pointed that out earlier along with some of his other calls.  At one point he was saying the Colts could try a 70 yard field and was serious!

as much as we are picking on the announcers right now they did point out something Buckner told them and is spot on.  The Colts don’t have that star pass rusher like Freeney or Mathis but they attack as one and as a whole unit on every play and as a unit they get the job done.  The only play the Colts had no answer for was Jackson running and no one has an answer for that.  Beyond that they pretty much shut the Ravens down from a line stand point.  Granted the Colts have played really beat up lines the past couple of weeks but they have feasted vs them.

They took about three shots his way deep today and he caught none of them.  They tried it once with Pittman who caught one of the most contested catches you’ll ever see.  At some point Pierce is going to run out of excuses.

No it’s the end of the game.  You have the greatest kicker of all time.  You try it, the odds of it being blocked or the Colts set up to beat you if he misses is low.  I was surprised the Colts didn’t put Flowers back there incase it came up short though.

Tucker is automatic from even around 65, I know he missed one but he has never missed 2 in a row in his career.
